Sophia Lab Mix Female 3 months old Well hello there, human! Great to meet you! I'm Sophia. My sister Sally and I are the new girls in town. We came to Colorado all the way from Kansas in order to find our forever homes. Now let me tell you, Colorado is my new favorite state! I love to play in the crisp fall air and am looking forward to being a hiking and walking/running partner someday. I also looooove my sissy Sally! We play together, we talk to each other, we wrestle with each other, and thank goodness we get to learn how to sleep in this 'crate' together. We both get scared and cry sometimes when doors open, but we're both getting ... (Read More)used to them. I also really love cuddling and playing with humans. I love to give hugs and kisses to my foster dad. He's also teaching me to be potty-trained and other cool new tricks. I'm very easy-going, affectionate, and fun. Neither my sister nor I have met these strange things called 'children' or 'cats' but I'm sure we'll like them once we do! Sally and I are also very similar in appearance, except I've got some white spots on my chest and paw versus her pure black body. I'm a short-haired Lab Mix with the biggest brown eyes you'll ever see. How about you see these puppy eyes for yourself? E-mail adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an adoption application on the PawsCo site. See you soon! (Less)

Tyson is current on all his vaccines, he is neutered, and he is heart worm negative! Tyson is also micro chipped. Our adoption process begins with you meeting Tyson. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-30-00209Mia (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

All of the Farfel's Rescue employees and volunteers hi-fived each other when we got the news that Mia the Labraschnauzer (or is it a Schnauzalab...not sure) was safe and would be making her way to Farfel's. They're an up and coming popular designer mix breed for very much the same reasons the Labradoodle has become so popular. We had been on edge all day waiting for the word that this adorable puppy was out of the shelter and truly rescued. The part that was so sad is that Mia, at only 12 weeks old, was about to be euthanized simply because the high-kill shelter had run out of cages. Mia is a virtually perfect puppy and at just 3 months ... (Read More)old and about 12 lbs (Mia is expected to weigh about 40 - 50 lbs when full-grown) and deserves a great forever home that will give her an awesome start in life. At this point, Mia loves other dogs and every human she's ever encountered. We would love Mia's great temperament to be nurtured with loving yet clear guidelines through puppy socialization classes and group positive reinforcement obedience. She responds so well to boundaries that are clear and lovingly communicated. Mia is a healthy and active young puppy who would be head over heels with joy to hike a Colorado trail and spend fun, outdoor time with her favorite people and canines. Mia is a blank slate at this point.... just waiting to be taught appropriate behavior to be the greatest adult dog ever! She has the capability to truly shine if given huge amounts of love and recognition for great behavior. We are searching for a family that is motivated to spend the time necessary to housebreak and train this young pup with the amazing temperament....they will be rewarded a thousand times over with loyalty and devotion. We think Mia would be very happy with either an active retired couple (or individual) or a family that enjoys spending lots of quality time with their pup. She's great in the car and very excited to learn the socialization skills that will enable her to accompany her family virtually everywhere they go. Mia appears to have picked up the Schnauzer gene and seems to be a non-shedding girl. It's hard to tell conclusively, however, since she still has her baby coat. Mia will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her adult coat shiny and healthy. Mia is considered by Texas vets to be too young to spay. Farfel's will be happy to cover all expenses associated with spaying and microchipping Mia when she gets to be about 20 weeks old. Mia will arrive on transport in Denver on 10/4. If interested in this fun-loving and very sweet companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shiloh is an adult female lab. She is all black except for the little bit of white on her chest. She loves walks and will chase a ball, even though she doesn't understand the importance of bringing it back. She has had a month of professional training, that I do not use, but she remembers. She rarely barks, when she does, you know there is something there. I haven't found a dog or cat yet that she doesn't get along with. She adores kids! She was adopted from the Denver Dumb Friends League by someone else and when they got her home they found out she had anxiety. She had been in a really bad situation previously, I found out after I ended up ... (Read More)with her by default- meaning, her adopter left her with me (long story). I have had her for 6 years and I don't have any issues at all with her. I am looking for a good home for her as I have to move to a condo within the next 6 months for health issues, and that would not be a good place for her. I feel awfully bad about re-homing her, but I have done the best I could for her since she was left with me. She would love a home that has a buddy dog, as she does like to follow other dogs around. The size of her buddy does not matter, she loves all dogs, and a buddy would help her feel secure. She comes with her beds, dishes, leash and food. (Less)

'Ello, Love! I'm London. Although I am just a young chap, I am quickly absorbing information from my world. I will sit on command and take treats in my mouth with the utmost politeness. Furthermore, I will occasionally stand up to greet you. I am still learning new tricks, such as 'come' and 'stay,' which I am told are progressing quite nicely. I am also working on potty training (or using the loo, as they say) and I tend to hesitate a bit while loading into the car. I am looking for someone to care for me with love and patience.     Hello, my name is Charlie, and I'm a laid back, easy-going, friendly guy. I'm in a foster home and I just love being with my foster Mom, wherever she goes, I like to follow and be by her side, or by her feet. I am housetrained, and enjoy staying in the back yard if my foster Mom stays out with me. Otherwise, I just want to come back in to be with her. I love car rides, people (including young children), and I like to lay down with my people, or on my special 'dog pillows.' I like being a super good boy, and I listen really well! I don't jump up on people, I take my time eating, and I love giving kisses and receiving belly rubs! My foster ... (Read More)Mom is so loving and kind, I feel so special when she talks to me and pets me at the same time, I find it very calming and helps me adjust to new situations in a relaxed way. I would do well in an apartment, or a house, and I really just like being wherever my people are. When my foster Mom leaves the house, I go in a crate for a couple of hours with no problem. I like that she is home a lot though. If someone comes to the door, I might bark, and then I am told to 'sit at the door' and 'no bark.' My foster Mom holds my collar while the person comes in, and then I am ok. I am a good guard dog, but warm up to the visitors as soon as my foster Mom introduces us and I know they are welcome. I'm good on a leash, and don't chase after cats in my neighbourhood. One of my cute quirks, is that I love bikes - I only wish I could ride one!     Hey thanks for clicking! My name is Rosco and I am a sweeter than sweet, 5-year-old, chocolate lab. I am going to tell you a lot of great things about me, so please don't think I'm bragging, just telling it like it is! Here goes: I am super smart and very well mannered - I know 'sit' 'down' 'stay' 'come' 'off' 'wait' 'drop it' 'take it.' At my foster home, I'm now working on 'leave it' and 'no begging.' I absolutely LOVE kids, and I struck gold landing in a foster home with two of them (ages 6 & 11)! I get along with other dogs, and I'd sure like to meet a cat one of these days. I love making new acquaintances. I'm housetrained, and have ... (Read More)quite a simple system worked out with my foster Dad - I look at him, go stand by the door, and he asks me 'You gotta go out?' I also walk well on a leash (never pulling), and think I could be a great off-leash dog after building up some trust in my new people. I don't chase after squirrels or bunnies even if I approach them and they scamper off. I am pretty easy to please in the exercise department, some fetch or a brief walk satisfies my needs, yet I could probably make a good jogging partner if you like that sort of thing! I am not easily startled, and don't mind other dogs that try to dominate me. See? There's another example of my excellent manners! I do have an impressive bark and will sometimes use it to protect, but this is very rare, as I just love everyone. Have I mentioned I'm not a fussy eater? I will immediately approve of any treats or bones you present to me, and although I appear quite excited, I take them very gently. My love of food will be a great motivator for me for future training, but in all honesty, a couple of scratches and a 'Good Boy!' are all I really need. I also love toys and I find it fun to bring you my toys and drop them in your lap. When you have had enough of my games, I will willingly stop at your request. In the last few days, I have had a car ride, a bath, had my nails clipped, ears poked and teeth looked at with no problems at all. I stand patiently for brushing or bathing, and my foster Dad says I am very respectful of the furniture/bed by not climbing up unless invited. Once invited however, I'll make a pillow out of you if you'll let me! I love being scratched and have very convincing puppy dog eyes when I want more! What would a love bug be without lots of kisses? Yes, I am a kisser, and my foster Dad is training me to restrain myself a little. I'm improving a great deal already, but like to sneak one in every now and again! I am a great family dog and can't wait to call your home, mine too! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today!     Howdy folks, the name's Ruthaford. I feel like I am in a time warp since the kind people at ARR rescued me from the country roads in rural Colorado! Suddenly, I'm in an amazing place called a 'foster home,' where there are actual BOWLS full of food and water, every day! It's warm and comfy in this foster home, and I even have people! My foster people have been doting on me in all kinds of ways I'm not used to (but quickly learning to love!). They pet me, take me for walks, and best of all, give me chew bones! I've been checked over from head to toe, so I can get all spruced up and ready to be adopted into my new retirement home. And if it's ... (Read More)anything like my foster home, I think I'll just consider myself a lottery winner! I am a sweet, laid back, gentle, older fella, who enjoys the outdoors and the company of other dogs. I'm told I take treats gently, walk well on a leash and am good in a crate. I am easy going, and have a feeling cats would be nice to live with as well. Apparently I was in the presence of a horse recently, and didn't even notice it. Calm, cool, collected - that's me! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today!     Casper came from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee; he was brought to Colorado to find his permanent home. He is a friendly, outgoing, affectionate, and young fellow (about a year and a half old and 65 pounds)who is crate trained, good on a leash, and housebroken. He is great with children but may not be best with small ones because of his naturalexuberance. He is not aggressive in any way and gets along well with dogs, cats, and even rabbits. He would benefit from obedience training since he has not yet learned basic commands. We honestly are not sure of his breed--perhaps part Dogo Argentino?     We are very sad to be re-homing our two dogs, Pepper and Daisy. They are extremely attached to each other and must go to a home willing to take both of them. They require a large, fenced in yard and can live with children and other animals. They enjoy being outside and play hard together, but they need a home that treats them as family members, as they are very affectionate and loving towards people. Pepper is 11 months old and Daisy is 13 months. Pepper is a small Bull Mastiff mix, they believe she is mixed with an Australian Sheppard. We were told Daisy is a pure bred Yellow Lab, but she does not have papers. Pepper is very good on a ... (Read More)leash, but Daisy needs work on it. They both do well with camping and outdoor activities off-leash and know basic commands. They have lived in a home with a toddler and a cat and do extremely well with both. Pepper in up to date on all shots and has been going to the vet regularly since she was 8 weeks. Daisy was rescued recently and we do not have her medical history, so she needs to go to the vet. We think that Daisy may have been abused, but she has adjusted very well being with us. She is afraid of the vacuum and thunder. but she is getting better. She also requires a feeding schedule, as she will overeat if given the chance. We absolutely hate having to find a new home for them, but unfortunately, my husbands new job requires too much travel for us to properly care for them. We have had a pet sitter more often than not this year and we want them to have the love and attention they need. Please do not contact if you are not interested in taking both dogs. (Less)

Hi there, I am a sweet and cute girl called Harley! I'm a two-year-old lab mix, full of energy and affection, and I love giving hugs and kisses. I am already totally house broken and crate trained, I don't stray from my yard at all (which my foster Mom seems to like), and my foster Mom is teaching me how to walk on a leash! Oh, the joys of this new life as a rescued dog! I know a few basic commands, but would really like some more training so I can be even smarter! If you are a hiker, I think I would make a great hiking companion. I have varied reactions to other dogs, and at my foster home, I live with a dog who is older and not as ... (Read More)energetic as I am - I'm starting to settle into this relationship, but I think I might do better in a home where I'm the only dog, or maybe with a dog that has the same high energy levels as I do. I haven't been introduced to cats yet, so I can't really say yay or nay at this point - I might be willing to give it a go! I would love a new home, with an attentive family, who will give me constant reassurance, love, and guidance. I will love you more than you can imagine!     Harley is a great dog. We adopted him and have had him since he was a little over three months old. However, he has anxiety that we've not been able to overcome. We took him to training and tried to crate train him (for he chews up the house if he is not crated) and he panics in his crate - sweat, barking, clawing. We do love him, he just has a on of pup energy like we've never seen with our other dogs. He needs a VERY large yard to run in and it needs to be enclosed with a high fence as he can scale anything less than 6 feet. He is great with our other dog, always wants to play and he is adorably cute. He'll make someone a great addition.

Red Baron Chow/Retriever mix Male 6-8 years old 45 lbs. Good day! My name is Red Baron, and I'm a man on a not-so top-secret mission to scour the skies and land for my forever family! While I may not be quite the pilot that the infamous Red Baron was, I do appreciate a good adventure when I see one! I am a 45 lb., 6-8-year-old, male Chow/Retriever mix with a handsome coat of soft, red fur, and I'll be the perfect companion for a lucky person! While I'm not always in the mood to play with other dogs, I'm quite content just to have their company while I bask outside in ... (Read More)the Colorado sunshine! I love meeting new people, and would do well living in a home with adults and older children (I'm not a huge fan of those little ones as my hip stiffness causes me to be a bit grumpy with small kiddos). No need to worry about those annoying puppy habits from this guy- I'm already potty-trained and do just fine with free roam of the house when my human companions are away. One of my favorite activities is going for walks around the neighborhood! There are so many fun smells, and I like to stop and take them all in. Sometimes you just gotta stop and smell the roses, am I right?! Cuddling with my humans makes me pretty happy too. I tend to think I am a lap dog, so get ready for some lovin'! Like many other brave adventurers, my past is a bit of a mystery. However, it looks like I had a severe past injury to my hips and I will be receiving hip surgery to help me feel a lot more comfortable and agile going forward! I am still available for adoption but my forever family will need to commit to helping me through my hip surgery recovery for the next two months (which includes daily exercises and lots of love and patience!) and PawsCo will take care of the full cost of the surgery and recovery. Finding my forever family will be the best adventure I could ever imagine, and I have a feeling it's right around the corner!     Mocha Lab/Shar Pei mix Female 2 years old 45 lbs Hi! I'm Mocha and I'm a 1-2 year-old, 45 lb., female Lab/Shar Pei mix. My foster family says I've got great karma with sweet, pure, positive energy that I spread wherever I go. I'm not sure what this word 'karma' means, but if that's what brought me here and gave me this second chance at life with a family, then it must be a very good thing! Not much is known about my past, but I came to my foster home quite underweight. Thanks to the TLC of my foster family, I am steadily gaining some much-needed pounds, and boy is it great to have a full belly! It's also pretty great to be surrounded by ... (Read More)people, kids, other dogs and cats because I just love 'em all! I'd actually prefer a home with another dog or a kiddo because I tend to gain confidence from these types of friends in my life. I am very friendly and a huge cuddler, but I'll need my new family to be calm and patient with me, as I can be shy and scared at times. Positive reinforcement training only please- I'm such a pleaser, and I sometimes cower when I think I am in trouble and hideout when I'm worried about my environment. I've been working with a really nice trainer who has been helping me find my confidence more and more and she'd be happy to fill you in on all the details of my progress! I'm gaining confidence every day in my foster home though, and sometimes I get so happy and excited that I like to zoom as fast as I can around the backyard! I'm a simple gal, and I don't need much to make me happy. All I really need is a family who will pat my head, give me belly rubs and go slow with me and reassure me if I get scared.
