Rescue Me ID: 14-08-28-00474Pepper/Daisy (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We are very sad to be re-homing our two dogs, Pepper and Daisy. They are extremely attached to each other and must go to a home willing to take both of them. They require a large, fenced in yard and can live with children and other animals. They enjoy being outside and play hard together, but they need a home that treats them as family members, as they are very affectionate and loving towards people. Pepper is 11 months old and Daisy is 13 months. Pepper is a small Bull Mastiff mix, they believe she is mixed with an Australian Sheppard. We were told Daisy is a pure bred Yellow Lab, but she does not have papers. Pepper is very good on a ... (Read More)leash, but Daisy needs work on it. They both do well with camping and outdoor activities off-leash and know basic commands. They have lived in a home with a toddler and a cat and do extremely well with both. Pepper in up to date on all shots and has been going to the vet regularly since she was 8 weeks. Daisy was rescued recently and we do not have her medical history, so she needs to go to the vet. We think that Daisy may have been abused, but she has adjusted very well being with us. She is afraid of the vacuum and thunder. but she is getting better. She also requires a feeding schedule, as she will overeat if given the chance. We absolutely hate having to find a new home for them, but unfortunately, my husbands new job requires too much travel for us to properly care for them. We have had a pet sitter more often than not this year and we want them to have the love and attention they need. Please do not contact if you are not interested in taking both dogs. (Less)

Gus Labrador Retriever mix Male 1 year old 60 lbs. Hey you! Are looking for a big lug who loves affection? Pick me! I'm Gus, a 1-year-old Lab mix. I'm super friendly and easygoing. My foster mom says I remind her of Goodwill Hunting-era Matt Damon - and EVERYONE loves Matt Damon! The wonderful people at PawsCo rescued me from a shelter in Kansas with three other canine friends. Speaking of canine friends, I get along with them just great! I'm even friendly with cats and kiddos. I'm looking forward to finding a forever home with anyone who will show me love and affection and maybe even let me sleep at the foot of the bed (a guy can dream ... (Read More)right?!). In order to become a stellar member of the household, I could use some help learning new commands. So far, my foster parents have taught me to 'sit', and they are working on showing me how to ride nicely in the car so I can join them on adventures! I'm potty-trained and respectful of your household things. Crates are a bit intimidating to me, so I prefer free roam of the house if you have to leave me, but of course, I prefer that you don't! Being left alone is tough for me at first, but I do calm quickly. I'm eager to please and a very fast learner, I just need the right family to help me gain even more confidence as I grow older! I will need some minor surgery and will be looking for a family that will be committed to helping me recover and get me back to my old self! The fine folks at PawsCo can fill you in on the details! If you're looking for social guy who loves to give and receive affection, I'd like to meet you! Please email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an adoption application today! (Less)

Andre Labrador Retriever/Mastiff Mix Male 2 years old 60 lbs. Pleased to meet you, sirs and madams! I'm Andre, and I'll be your guide today. We take manners seriously around here; I'll politely ask that you remain on the path and follow the assigned route. I'm very experienced in my position as Head Tour Guide, so if you have any questions or would like to see any of my tricks, please just raise your hand and I'll call on you. My background in tennis ball chasing began when I was just a pup, and I'm proud to say that I've become quite the dog toy expert. Although I'm a youngster, I'm exceptionally smart and learn quickly - how many dogs ... (Read More)do you know who will listen when you ask them to go 'slow' ... and actually do it!? That's me, Andre the Giant (giant smartypants, that is)! I'm quite the love bug - affectionate and SUPER happy snuggling with my family. However I should mention that I'm not a huge fan of new people coming into my space. I am more interested in spending quiet time with the people I love. Strangers in my domain make me a little uneasy. My foster family describes me as quite possibly the most snugglicious dog they've ever met - and I don't mind sounding like a big teddy bear. I'm smart, loving with my family, and I enjoy hanging with new dogs when I can play with them outside my own space. I have pretty high standards for my own house, but if you take me to doggie daycare, where I don't have to play tour guide, I will let loose and be my goofball self! I'm hoping to find a family looking for the strong, silent type who really can appreciate the depth of my love - it doesn't come out in large crowds or at big parties. I'm a family man - smart and obedient, but serious about keeping a close eye on my humans. My favorite thing is to just snuggle up after a good long play session and show my family how much I love them. Are you looking for a 'still waters run deep' kind of guy to join your pack? Let's set up a meeting and I'll show off some of my tricks. I hope we'll be a match. Email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org to set up a date! (Less)

Penelope Labrador Retriever / Pit Bull mix Female 10 years old 47 lbs. Hello there! First things first - my name is Penelope, or Penny for short, and I'm a Lab/Pit Bull mix who is 10 years young and looking for a second chance at finding my forever home! The folks at PawsCo scooped me up from a shelter in Mesa County because they saw how much spunk I have! My foster mom says that I'm a lot like Meryl Streep - I may be entering my 'golden years' but I'm only getting better with age! I have a very calm demeanor, but I do love a good game of fetch, a romp in the grass or a short walk on a leash. After playtime, I love a soft spot to ... (Read More)snooze or to nibble on a chewy treat. I haven't had any accidents in my foster house, and I can be left alone without destroying anything. See I told you - better with age! I get along well with other dogs, and I suppose cats are OK, as long as they don't interrupt naptime! I'm not interested in playing with or chasing them, but if they keep their distance, we'll get along just fine. I haven't had much interaction with kiddos just yet, but the PawsCo folks who rescued me had one who rode in the car with us, and that was fine by me! I'm looking for a family or companion who will give me lots of love and playtime followed by long snoozes on a soft bed. In order to be a superstar canine, I could use some extra training. Sure, I walk on a leash nicely and know how to 'sit', but I would love to learn some new tricks to impress my humans and their friends! I like people, but men have to work a little harder to earn my trust. Once I get to know you, I'll be a sweet, loving, easygoing companion! There's a lot of miles left in these paws, so if you're looking for someone like me, please email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an adoption application today! (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi there, I am a sweet and cute girl called Harley! I'm a two-year-old lab mix, full of energy and affection, and I love giving hugs and kisses. I am already totally house broken and crate trained, I don't stray from my yard at all (which my foster Mom seems to like), and my foster Mom is teaching me how to walk on a leash! Oh, the joys of this new life as a rescued dog! I know a few basic commands, but would really like some more training so I can be even smarter! If you are a hiker, I think I would make a great hiking companion. I have varied reactions to other dogs, and at my foster home, I live with a dog who is older and not as ... (Read More)energetic as I am - I'm starting to settle into this relationship, but I think I might do better in a home where I'm the only dog, or maybe with a dog that has the same high energy levels as I do. I haven't been introduced to cats yet, so I can't really say yay or nay at this point - I might be willing to give it a go! I would love a new home, with an attentive family, who will give me constant reassurance, love, and guidance. I will love you more than you can imagine!     Clyde Labrador Retriever Male 2 years old 100 lbs. Hey you - happy human! It's me, Big Clyde! Want to play?! I got these fresh tennis balls here ... Or we could play some tag, or hide and seek? If you don't want to play right now, how about I just hop up and snuggle with ya on the couch? Clyde likes everyone and everyone likes Clyde! I'm Big Clyde, and I'm a big lug. My foster family compares me to Baby Huey the duck - I'm a whole lotta silly and sweet. Great things come in BIG packages! I love everyone I meet, and by love I mean capital L-O-V-E! Sometimes I get so excited that I forget my manners and can't help but hug and kiss all ... (Read More)these awesome people I meet. I'm a smoocher! I grew up in a family where I always had to ask for affection, so I'm not shy about tellin' you it's time for some ear scratches! I like every person I meet - big or small - but sometimes my size and goofball energy can be a bit overwhelming for the little ones. (I still love 'em though!) I don't know any cats, but they seem like a good time - for chasing! If you have dogs, I want to meet them. I bet we will get along great! It's all love over here! As for training, I'm learning more every day about knowing my size, walking on the leash, and practicing basic tricks to impress the humans. I like my crate alright. Of course, I'd rather be chewing up a toy in the living room, but I know you gotta bring home the kibble, so we can make a plan for that. Speaking of kibble, I prefer my meals family-style; I want my humans around while I eat. It's just nice to feel like a pack. Aw, shucks - there I go again getting all lovey-dovey. What can I say, I'm a LOVER! I'm taking applications for my new forever family! So talk to adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an application on the website, so we can set up a date! (Less)

She was a stray and had been nursing a litter of puppies. They found foster homes for the puppies but no place for her so we agreed to foster her. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Weezy' is a sweet girl who just needs someone to love her. She has been raised with cats, dogs, ferrets and she's good with older kids just not grabby or screamy little ones. She loves being outdoors but is lazy to the bone, only real motivator for her is food so she's not the hiking Pikes Peak type, more of the leisurely porch sitting type. She is trained in the basic commands but pulls constantly on the leash. She is very timid around new people and loud noises which is what makes rehoming her so challenging, but once she warms up she's a great dog.

Harley is a great dog. We adopted him and have had him since he was a little over three months old. However, he has anxiety that we've not been able to overcome. We took him to training and tried to crate train him (for he chews up the house if he is not crated) and he panics in his crate - sweat, barking, clawing. We do love him, he just has a on of pup energy like we've never seen with our other dogs. He needs a VERY large yard to run in and it needs to be enclosed with a high fence as he can scale anything less than 6 feet. He is great with our other dog, always wants to play and he is adorably cute. He'll make someone a great addition.

She is house-trained, does amazing on the leash, loves people, and does great with other dogs - especially the boys(no cats, or small dogs, please). She would enjoy a playful pup as a buddy, though would also do well without any other dogs as she bonds deeply with her people. She does well with livestock and has a great recall off leash.     Maxine Staffordshire Terrier/Lab Female 1 year old 60 lbs. Hi there, I'm Maxine! I know we don't know each other very well, but if you don't mind I'd love to give you a big ol' kiss! I'm a sweet, 1-year-old, 60 lb. Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix, and while some people are 'huggers, I am definitely a kisser! I was found roaming around by myself in southern Colorado and taken to the shelter. The shelter was very scary for me, but lucky for me, the folks at PawsCo busted me out, and I'm currently happy as can be in my foster home. Sure, my frame is 60 lbs. of solid muscle, but the truth is, I'm as gentle as can be! I love playing with ... (Read More)other dogs! I'm usually pretty submissive at first, but once we get to playing, I love to jump and roll around with my furry friends! Playing is great, but I also enjoy just relaxing in my dog bed with my humans nearby. Speaking of humans- Oh how I love them! I like to follow my foster parents around and plop my head in their laps when they sit down. (Believe me, if I could fit my whole self in their laps, I would!) Living in a house is amazing, but not something I'm entirely familiar with. I've been following the lead of my canine foster siblings and learning the ropes, and I'm working on the potty-training thing and spending time in my crate. (My foster parents are confident that once I get the potty training down, I would be just fine with free roam of the house, too.) I am going to be one devoted, adoring (not to mention beautiful) dog for my forever family, and I know the PawsCo folks will find just the place I'm meant to be!     Seeking a loving and patient home for 3 year old male lab mix. Sam is a very sweet dog, loves playing at the dog park and long sniff-n-stroll walks. He is calm indoors but definitely loves his walks. He doesn't chew or bark but is a digger. He loves belly rubs and can be quite the 'talker'. He does have some anxiety issues and is easily startled. However, he has never acted out when startled, just gets jumpy and needs a lot of reassurance. He is very afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks and would really like to have a place to hide, again he does not act out, just wants to get into a snug corner or under a table. He does not do well ... (Read More)off-leash and can be a little obsessed with squirrels and rabbits! He does fine with my cat, he's very curious and keeps trying to approach her quietly but understands that when she hisses he needs to back off. He is currently an only dog but would probably do well with a buddy. I do not have children but we've encountered kids at the park and he seems to like them. He knows basic obedience commands (sit, heel, leave it, come), but can be somewhat stubborn about doing them. Sam needs a kind-hearted person/people who have some experience with dogs and can give him lots of love, attention, and patience. He does fine in an apartment with very regular exercise but would love a yard. I want to find the very best home for this sweetheart and will request a reference from your vet and to do a home visit.     Red Baron Chow/Retriever mix Male 6-8 years old 45 lbs. Good day! My name is Red Baron, and I'm a man on a not-so top-secret mission to scour the skies and land for my forever family! While I may not be quite the pilot that the infamous Red Baron was, I do appreciate a good adventure when I see one! I am a 45 lb., 6-8-year-old, male Chow/Retriever mix with a handsome coat of soft, red fur, and I'll be the perfect companion for a lucky person! I'm quite a friendly guy, and I get along splendidly with other dogs. While I'm not always in the mood to play with other dogs, I'm quite content just to have their company while I bask outside in ... (Read More)the Colorado sunshine! I love meeting new people, and would do well living in a home with adults and older children (I'm not a huge fan of those little ones as my hip stiffness causes me to be a bit grumpy with small kiddos.) No need to worry about those annoying puppy habits from this guy- I'm already potty-trained and do just fine with free roam of the house when my human companions are away. One of my favorite activities is going for walks around the neighborhood! There are so many fun smells, and I like to stop and take them all in. Sometimes you just gotta stop and smell the roses, am I right?! Cuddling with my humans makes me pretty happy too. I tend to think I am a lap dog, so get ready for some lovin'! Like many other brave adventurers, my past is a bit of a mystery. However, the nice vet that PawsCo took me to does think I lived a lot of my past life in a kennel, which has made my hips a little stiff and uncomfortable for me. Don't fret, though! I've been taking some healthy supplements and I seem to be more and more comfortable each day! I do need a little assistance getting in and out of the car but I'll always politely accept a 'lift' up as I love to go on car rides. Finding my forever family will be the best adventure I could ever imagine, and I have a feeling it's right around the corner!     Mocha Lab mix Female 2 years old 45 lbs Hi! I'm Mocha and I'm a 1-2 year-old, 45 lb., female Lab mix. My foster family says I've got great karma with sweet, pure, positive energy that I spread wherever I go. I'm not sure what this word 'karma' means, but if that's what brought me here and gave me this second chance at life with a family, then it must be a very good thing! Not much is known about my past, but I came to my foster home quite underweight. Thanks to the TLC of my foster family, I am steadily gaining some much-needed pounds, and boy is it great to have a full belly! It's also pretty great to be surrounded by people, kids, ... (Read More)other dogs and cats because I just love 'em all! I'd actually prefer a home with another dog or a kiddo because I tend to gain confidence from these types of friends in my life. I am very friendly and a huge cuddler, but I'll need my new family to be calm and patient with me, as I can be shy and scared at times. Positive reinforcement training only please- I'm such a pleaser, and I sometimes cower when I think I am in trouble and hideout when I'm worried about my environment. I've been working with a really nice trainer who has been helping me find my confidence more and more and she'd be happy to fill you in on all the details of my progress! I'm gaining confidence every day in my foster home though, and sometimes I get so happy and excited that I like to zoom as fast as I can around the backyard! I'm a simple gal, and I don't need much to make me happy. All I really need is a family who will pat my head, give me belly rubs and go slow with me and reassure me if I get scared.
