Rescue Me ID: 15-02-26-00467Flyer (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Flyer came into rescue quite by accident. He was originally owned by a band of Gypsies who were passing through a small Louisiana town when a rescuer spotted them. What caught her eye is that they were all on bicycles and one was towing a Red Flyer wagon with an unrestrained gangly puppy inside. When she chided them for subjecting the puppy to the dangers of street traffic, they asked her to take him as he was rapidly outgrowing the wagon. She did and brought him to the shelter where he was named Flyer after the wagon he spent so much time in. Luckily for Flyer, he is in foster care, where he spends his days playing in a large yard with ... (Read More)other dogs, both large and small. He has boundless energy and will definitely need daily walks plus some hikes and yard play in his new home. He does walk well on a leash, though his curiosity oftentimes distracts him (see video). He likes to play with toys, both fuzzy and squeaky, but he is not a retriever. Since Flyer is now approaching maturity, he should not get much bigger than his current frame and weight (75-80#). He is still enough of a puppy, however, to soak up new experiences and training to make him a valuable member of any family. He may be too big and puppyish for small children. He is so sweet and gentle with litters of orphaned puppies, it is so sweet to see! Flyer is housebroken and crate trained and has a gorgeous, shiny black haircoat. He's at the top of his game, so if you think Flyer is your "guy," please copy and paste this link in your web browser and fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html. All vetting included in his $325 adoption fee. We cannot be certain what his true mix is. Transport is an additional $185 paid directly to the transporter. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We feel like we were in the right place at the right time when we intercepted a box of unwanted puppies that were headed for the high kill shelter in South Carolina. That was last August when all his siblings were adopted. Sweet and soulful Jackson needed to stay behind because we started to notice a little limp in his step, but now we know why! We have followed him with xrays and nothing wrong except that this boy is getting very big very fast! At nine months, Jackson weighs 76 lbs and is still growing! He has no pain and is doing great. We don't have to tell you how gorgeous he is, and you can tell by the look in his eyes how ... (Read More)wonderful he is, but we truly believe that anyone lucky enough to have this boy join their family will be as happy as he is. Jackson gets along with the 10 or so other dogs at his foster, but he most especially loves to be loved. He has a calm demeanor for a black lab and we just can't say enough! If you would like Jackson to come home with you, please fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html. Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

What can bring a smile to your face more than an adorable Bassador? This boy was saved from a high kill shelter in the south where it is certain his life would have been cut short were it not for the wonderful volunteers who realized he is one special boy. Clayton is about 1 1/2 years old and weighs 50lbs, and he is long and low. He has a wonderful calm and loving demeanor and is a total pleasure for his foster. Clayton does well with all the dogs there and especially likes to cuddle with people. He walks well on a leash and would fit in with any loving family. Clayton has a slight deformity in one of his front paws which is not ... (Read More)uncommon in 'low riders' like him. He has no pain or discomfort and it only adds to his unique looks and character. He does have a strong prey drive so no cats please! Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We were so sad to find Titan in a shelter in SC, when it wasn't that long ago we remembered he had been adopted by a wonderful family as a puppy. Unfortunately the family fell on hard times and with nowhere else to turn, they brought him back to the kill shelter not know what his fate would be. As soon as we saw him we remembered just how wonderful this boy was and took him into foster. Titan is an all around perfect boy. He absolutely loves to play with all the foster's big and small dogs, but his favorite time is spent with the family and most especially the children. Titan is one of those dogs that quickly adjusts to any situation ... (Read More)and can go anywhere you go. Titan is 2 1/2 and weighs about 40lbs. He is house trained and walks on a leash well. Very loving boy! And even though he wasn't being fed enough with his previous family probably due to financial problems, he is a perfect gentleman around the other dogs at meal time. This time we want to make sure Titan goes home to his forever family, could that be you? If you would like to love a dog who will truly love you with all his heart, please copy and paste this link to your web browser to fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html, Full vetting including shots worming and neuter, and his transport up north included in his $425 adoption fee. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-26-00215MARLEY (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This beauty is MARLEY, she was heartlessly discarded as a puppy because her ears didn't meet the 'standard' for a German Shepherd! Typical of a shepherd, Marley is a bit reserve with her affection and a little shy in the beginning as she slowly warms up to humans. Here at the shelter she is great with other dogs and has become the greeter and comforter to the new arrivals. Marley loves romping outdoors and will be quick to alert you when something is out of the norm. She will be a great and loyal addition to an active and loving family. Marley is full grown at about 60lbs., spayed, up to date on her vacs and micro- chipped. ... (Read More)Unfortunately the facility that Marley currently calls 'home' is in the high kill state of Texas, where there are too many great dogs and too few great adopters. And we know the heart breaking truth of that scenario. So we are looking for Marley's new forever home in the dog friendly East. We transport our dogs bi-monthly to their new homes via Rescue Road Trips. Marley's adoption fee is $170 and her safe and secure transport in $185.     Coy came to KRR when he was discovered living with his collar embedded into his skin. A cruelty investigation was opened and we found that he was adopted as a puppy from the city shelter and his so-called 'owners' never bothered to get him a new collar as he grew. After surgery to remove his collar he was understandably timid around people. However, he is coming out of his shell and he is very sweet and is learning to trust us. HARRY whilst living at the rescue is house trained in that he goes outside either through the door or the doggy door. HARRY is looking for a family that is lots of fun, will take him on lots of adventures, advance on his basic training and to teach him lots of tricks. HARRY is a smart boy and would be love to have his mind challenged. HARRY has never shown any kind of aggression or negative behavior. HARRY has not yet been exposed to cats or any other kind of animals so I do not know how he would behave. I do, however, believe that letting him satisfy his curiosity and teaching him to respect the other animal, he would quickly learn how to behave around them. PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Connecticut
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
