Rescue Me ID: 17-07-19-00468Clara (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

FOSTER LOCATION: Kuna, ID Sweet gentle Clara has been a joy to have in the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue foster program while she recovered from heart worm. But now that she is fit and healthy she yearns for a family to call her own. At only 8 years old this girl has acquired a long lifetime of experience; having traveled all the way from Texas to find that perfect Idaho family to share her grace with. Gentle, quiet, calm, submissive gal is the easiest way to describe her; soft and loving should be thrown in for good measure. There really isn't a bad thing to say about this absolutely lovely girl other than she can be a bit reserved with new ... (Read More)people. Clara is great with other dogs and even likes cats. She would do best in a home with another happy, easy going dog for her to pal around with. She walks well on a leash (you have to encourage her) and takes treats gently. She loves to follows her foster humans around to watch what they are doing and sacks out on the couch for naps. She actually smiles and clicks her teeth together when she gets excited - mostly food related. And if you aren't moving fast enough to get her fed at dinner time she will let you know by giving you a slight nip on the ankle (all in good fun of course). She is good with small children but if they are running she will chase him and will nip at heals. So no kids under 10 please. Clara is spayed, current on shots, has a microchip and has tested negative for heart worm Pip's adoption fee is $75 Clara would love to join your family; she'll follow you to the ends of the earth.     This little cutie is one of three little Black Lab sisters who are in foster care with ANH. Just three months old and already so smart. Missy is very quiet and snuggly. She loves to be right next to her kids all the time. In fact she likes to share their pillows at night and get just as close as she can be to them. Sometimes adults scare her but she warms up pretty quickly. Her foster mom and dad are really working with her so she isn't afraid. Missy is great with other dogs but not quite sure of the kitties. They scare her a little too. :) She is learning to play ball but doesn't see any reason to bring them back. She is ... Rescue Me ID: 17-06-28-00413Clyde (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive,
 Fearful/Anxious

This is Clyde. He's a year and a half old Labrador/Pitbull mix. He was born on December 12th, 2015. He's not fixed but he is UTD on his vaccines. I'm looking for someone that can take him in and work with him considering that he does have some behavioral issues, like some dominance aggression and his overprotectiveness, but also has good potential. I'm not going to take my Clyde somewhere that he will be looked down on because of his issues, but would work with him, especially since his vet said he definitely has potential. He kind of picks and chooses which dogs to get along with, we have a 15 lb dachshund that he gets along with very well, ... (Read More)so particularly smaller dogs he seems to get along with better but I guess to him it depends. Does good with kids as well, we have a 3 year old that he's been nothing but loving to. Besides his dominance aggression he is EXTREMELY affectionate, very sweet and knows basic commands. LOVES being outside to run so a fenced in yard is a must. He is kennel trained and we're currently in the midst of housebreaking him. His kennel is his 'comfort zone' so he does very well in there. He does okay on a leash, we're still working on that, but also used to do great without one as well. We just haven't had him off a leash outside of our backyard in a while. Any questions please email or text me, as I'm completely heartbroken that we have to do this we don't really have much of a choice anymore since the breed restrictions here on base and we're running out of time. I will be extremely picky on who I choose he goes to, I want to make sure he goes to a loving home that has the time and patience to work with him as he deserves. I would absolutely love to be able to keep in contact with whoever is able to take him and possibly come see him every once in a while. He would come with his kennel, toys/favorite blankets and food. There is a small REHOMING FEE which we can discuss. Serious inquiries only please! Thank you. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I will never understand how someone can have a wonderful pet and leave them behind when they move. For heck sakes, at least try to find your sweet pet a good home. :( Leaving them tied to their dog house while you drive away is absolutely disgusting. Luckily Manni had a neighbor watching over him who called us to help. We are very happy to have this little man as one of our gang. Believe me he loves us too. Manni is such a good boy. He has the cutest personality and is very well behaved. He loves attention and does everything he can to please. He is learning a few basic commands but seriously he just seems to know what he ... (Read More)needs to do before we even ask. He would be a fabulous pup for any active family. He loves to play ball and chase birds. He also really loves the pools. When it's time to come in he runs in to his kennel and sits patiently for his snack. :0 He does love snacks. Manni is great with other dogs and kids and would love to go home. He is neutered, up on vaccinations and micro chipped. He might need just a little work on potty training but he has mastered the doggie door. Manni is an 18 month old Border Collie Lab mix and super cute. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. Manni wanted me to say, He's a good boy and didn't deserve to be left behind. He promises he would be loyal and loving forever. He wants to be his new families special boy. It's scary to be left behind and he's gonna forget all about that. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00159Dean (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Dearest Dean has developed quite the Facebook following. Rescuers and dog lovers banded together to save this guy from a shelter in California, and he was moved to a boarding facility to await rescue placement. When we saw pictures and videos of him, we couldn't help but say yes. Dean arrived at MCR last Saturday. We've gotten to know him during his week-long hold, and we can tell you one thing for sure: Dean is a charming fellow. He is a gentleman, through and through, acting polite and friendly once he gets to know you. He's easy to handle and to walk on a leash, and he hasn't shown any fear since he arrived. In other words, he's a very ... (Read More)easy guy to love. We haven't yet tested this 3 year old with kids or other dogs, but you're welcome to bring your family in to meet him. Dean is fully vetted and ready to make a home here in Idaho. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00248Blazer (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Blazer, a 1-2 year old neutered male who was recently surrendered to our Rescue. His previous guardian loves Blazer very much and wants only the best for this handsome guy. Here's what he has to say: 'A little about Blaze. He was found as a stray in Canyon County. When I got him, he was very underweight, his coat was dry and blotchy. He would not go near people or other dogs. When I brought him outside he sat on the concrete pad and just looked sad. I am a supporter of the shelters and adopted several dogs over the years, my last one was from you guys (Geronimo was his name, he is now Brody and doing very well). Blaze was the saddest ... (Read More)dog I have seen there, and I thought I would be able to provide him a good home. So far I have been able to. His coat looks amazing and he is a social butterfly with both people and dogs. He got off to a rough start, stayed very reserved and Brody just left him alone. The first night he slept hard for a straight 12 hours on my bed. As we have progressed to the dog park, he went from hiding under my legs to running and playing (on leash) with the other dogs and people. He loves to smile and play. He is a food monger! He inhales his food, so I purchased a slower bowl and that seems to be helping (that will be sent with him). However, he does not have any food aggression. I have tested him several times during feeding time with myself and Brody. He does not get tense, guard or any sort of behavior that would signify he has any aggressive behaviors with food. He is learning, getting better everyday, with taking treats nicely from my hand. He is learning the word 'gentle' and what that means. He does well with small dogs and large dogs. I have not had him directly in contact with kids, however, the kids at the dog park have not had any issues with him. He is getting much better on the leash. He needs a few gentle reminders about how to behave on a leash and then he is good and will walk by my side without pulling. In the house he is very docile. He likes to sit with me on the couch an watch tv. He also likes to just be petted, especially on his head/ears. He and Brody are great about going outside to rough house and play. He loves balls and toys! He is not great at bringing them back, but slowly getting better. He does not know his name yet, but is learning. He is good at coming when not distracted, but when he is distracted or playing he has not got that figured out yet. He is a very sweet and lovable dog. Regarding the reason I need to try to find a more appropriate home for him. He is a Houdini. Once he perked up, I found that he could jump my 4 ft chain link fence and get out. I purchased and installed 5 foot extension fencing, thinking that would solve the problem. He has figured out how to get out still. He has been able to tear down some of the fence when he is chasing squirrels. I purchased and crate trained him. He does very well in the crate, he will go right in on command and lay down. However, during the day he has figured out how to wedge his way out of it and get out. I have dog doors in my house and he gets out then escapes the back yard. With having Brody, I am unable to block the dog doors so he cannot get in/out. That is not fair to Brody. I have attempted to strap the door to the crate so he cannot force his way out, but he has managed to undo that and get out. I have an outside kennel/dog run that Brody uses during the day. It has a covered roof top and is chain link. I kicked Brody out during the day and locked Blaze in there hoping that would keep him secure. He has managed to find his way out of it as well. I have only had Blazer for just under a month and he has been taken to the human society 3 times, and gotten out everyday in the past 2 weeks, despite my remedies. I am very concerned because he loves water! My house butts up to one of the main arteries for the new york canal. Its about 10 feet deep and flowing fast (they just turned it on over the weekend). I have caught Blaze trying to go there and it would devastate me if he got in. If you feel you can offer Blazer a secure home, please come in and meet him. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gus is a very friendly 18 month old Basset mix. He is house trained, great with other dogs, doesn't seem to mind cats and is good with children. Because he is still quite a puppy we recommend older children until he learns not to jump up on them. Gus is very afraid of fireworks so he would need a safe place to hang out during that noisy time of year. He is a sweet boy that will make a great family member. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchiped. He is 32 lbs of love hoping to find his forever home!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Idaho
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
