Urgent: This animal could be euthanized if not adopted soon.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-14-00455Gracie (female)

Lab    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: High Energy
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Gracie belongs to a homeless Vet. Until last week they had a home in assisted rent complex. Gracie has never been house trained and had not been socialized to people. She was housed with a cat and they got along well. Suddenly Gracie is living outside and her world is scary and uncertain. She barks and growls when approached but is approachable. We now have a collar on her and she adjust very quickly but she chewed the leash off when it was on her for 30 minutes. Gracie is wonderful with her human, bouncing and playful, fetching/retrieving but has zero manners or training. She will stay very close when they walk anywhere. She seems to be OK ... (Read More)with our two border collies, growling and barking but not assertive or aggressive, even touching noses. If I had time I would work at training her, I think she could be a great dog, but at this time she is scared and has three days before she must be taken to the shelter. Due to her growling, hackles up and lack of any social skills with humans I don't think she will make the cut to the floor and therefore will be euthanized. Gracie had her first real meal today in weeks and looks very full in the picture. She is playful. I can go into the enclosure even when her human is not there and while she is scared and very tentative she is also reservedly curious. Her world has been turned upside down as she went from knowing a small 5th floor apt as the whole world to living outside ad having a lot of activity and people around. She is not one to bark all day or excessively, she did try digging one day but had not eaten in two days, I took her food, put a digging obstacle in front of the gate and have had no further problems. She is alone most of the day and does not exhibit a habit of tearing up or senseless chewing. We would like to see Gracie get a fair chance at life. Who ever adopts Gracie will need to show they have the skills to train this girl. She is a gorgeous gal with bright eyes and perky ears, a playful bounce and the desire to please her human. He just is unable to care for her, and is out of options. He has asked me to post this on his behalf. He is staying at our house, outside with Gracie for 4 more days. Then they are both gone. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-12-00430Russo (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID Every time we look at our boy Russo, Jimmy Buffett pops into our head 'Hey, Hey, Good Lookin', whatcha got cookin', How's about cookin' something up with me' Why you ask? Come on just look at him; doesn't he remind you of the cool boy in school who always had the smoothest pick-up lines? A guy who would come up with the line 'I'm free and I'm ready maybe we can go steady' If you are looking for a new guy in your life Russo is your man! He is a 1 1/2 year old, 60 pound Kelpie/Lab with maybe a touch of German Shepherd thrown in for good measure who is almost always up for a good time. Russo LOVES playing fetch ... (Read More)- especially with a Frisbee so he can show off his mad jumping/catching skills. Russo also likes to be on the go (he's a very active boy); he loves riding in the car, loves playing in water and just has a zest for all the fun things in life. Russo walks well on a leash, makes a great running partner and knows several commands like sit, down, roll over, shake and high five. Once in a while his bravado slips a he gets a bit shy but 95% of the time he is everyone's best friend; eager to learn and eager to please. He plays well with other dogs and is good with children but would probably be better with older children as he sometimes gets excited and doesn't watch where he's running when he plays fetch. Russo would make a great family dog and a wonderful companion. So if you are looking for that smooth talking, smart as a whip, handsome guy to add to your life Russo just might be your boy. If you think Russo is for you please go fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you about him: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Russo is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped There is a $40 adoption fee for Russo (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-08-00447Stout (male)

Lab    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We need to find a new home for our slobbery loving 6 year old chocolate lab named Stout. We love Stout very much, but ever since we adopted him from the Humane Society (4 years ago), he does not do well around children. The ideal home for him would be somewhere he could be active, part of the family, but no small children and preferably no other large dogs. He needs time to adjust to other four legged family members. He is obedient, house trained, loving, cuddly and very eager to please. This is really hard for us, but we have made the decision it is probably best for our family because we are having a new baby soon. If you or anyone you ... (Read More)know might be interested, we'd love to have you meet him and would love to be able to talk with you about a possible new home for Stouty. Give us a call if you are interested. We really want to find a good place for him. (Less)

Lilly is a sweet and mellow, happy go lucky...female, 2-3 year old mix. She gets along with most everyone, although she does hold her own if challenged. She just loves her sister Bailey and they would prefer to be adopted together, although they are willing to separate if the right homes came along. These two would be the perfect adoption for a family looking to bring in new pets, into a home that is currently pet free...because these girls comes as a familia already :) They both are small, petite gals only about 30-35 lbs each and will keep each other company all day long! The adoption cost for the pair is $125.00

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bailey is a very sweet, small girl. Her and her bonded sister Lilly would love to be adopted together. They both weigh only about 30-35 lbs each. They get along great with each other, as well as other dogs...large and small. These two are perfect together, but would be willing to be separated for the right families. Bailey has a little bit higher energy level, but playing with her sister and other dogs suits her just fine. Cats seem to be fine, but meet and greet is required for prior pets in home. Secure yard preferred, willing to discuss options. Adoption fee for both Bailey & Lilly as a pair is $125.00

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Idaho
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Idaho Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
