Rescue Me ID: 14-08-26-00142Bailey (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

Bailey is a sweet 2 1/2 year old spayed female black Lab blend. She may be a small gal but seems to have a large heart with a willingness to work and please people. It's reported that Bailey isn't house trained but is kennel trained and she has done ok in her kennel at the rescue. She is learning how to enjoy play time. Bailey likes being handled and loved but was a bit skittish around the brush when being groomed. Bailey knows to how to sit, drops on command, and is working on shake. Right now Bailey is content to be someone's shadow though we believe she'll become confident and more adventurous with time. Bailey should probably go to an ... (Read More)active but quieter home. If you have a spot in your heart for a loving Lab, please come meet Bailey. If you want to apply for Bailey, go to http://www.meridianvalleyhumanesociety.com/pre-adopt-questionnaire.rtf to fill out an application. After completing the application, e-mail it to meridianvalleyhumanesociety@gmail.com. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will contact the person chosen to adopt her. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-08-00447Stout (male)

Lab    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We need to find a new home for our slobbery loving 6 year old chocolate lab named Stout. We love Stout very much, but ever since we adopted him from the Humane Society (4 years ago), he does not do well around children. The ideal home for him would be somewhere he could be active, part of the family, but no small children and preferably no other large dogs. He needs time to adjust to other four legged family members. He is obedient, house trained, loving, cuddly and very eager to please. This is really hard for us, but we have made the decision it is probably best for our family because we are having a new baby soon. If you or anyone you ... (Read More)know might be interested, we'd love to have you meet him and would love to be able to talk with you about a possible new home for Stouty. Give us a call if you are interested. We really want to find a good place for him. (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered

We have been babysitting Luther for over 2 years while our friend went to Guam for his job. Our friend cannot take him back and we have other dogs so he suggested Lab Rescue. He has been a bird hunting dog and unfortunately hunts our ducks. He has killed too many to keep him anymore.

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

PICKLES was saved from a high-kill shelter in SoCal. He had chemical burns in patches over his body probably from a meth lab. He holds no grudges though. He is still young and energetic. He needs a home with someone experienced with bully breeds, preferably. He has not had a very good start in life, can you show him what love and caring is about? He is in a temp. placement now but looking for a forever home. Can you offer this poor boy a loving home that he so deserves?

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

We rescued Jack from an abusive home about 6 years ago. He does not dig or chew on things. He loves to play with other dogs or kids. Must have yard and doggie door, will not give to a home that crates because he still has fear of confined areas. We are moving cross country and can not find housing that will allow us to keep a medium to large dog.

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lilly is a sweet and mellow, happy go lucky...female, 2-3 year old mix. She gets along with most everyone, although she does hold her own if challenged. She just loves her sister Bailey and they would prefer to be adopted together, although they are willing to separate if the right homes came along. These two would be the perfect adoption for a family looking to bring in new pets, into a home that is currently pet free...because these girls comes as a familia already :) They both are small, petite gals only about 30-35 lbs each and will keep each other company all day long! The adoption cost for the pair is $125.00

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bailey is a very sweet, small girl. Her and her bonded sister Lilly would love to be adopted together. They both weigh only about 30-35 lbs each. They get along great with each other, as well as other dogs...large and small. These two are perfect together, but would be willing to be separated for the right families. Bailey has a little bit higher energy level, but playing with her sister and other dogs suits her just fine. Cats seem to be fine, but meet and greet is required for prior pets in home. Secure yard preferred, willing to discuss options. Adoption fee for both Bailey & Lilly as a pair is $125.00

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Hi....my name is Ramsey. I am 5 years old. I need a permanent home or maybe even just a place to stay for a few months (as a foster). My owners recently had to downsize to an apartment and I am not allowed to go live with them. I personally think I make a great pet even though I am a bit larger than the average one. I am a black lab mix with a small bit of arthritis in my hip. I like to walk, play in the water and go hiking but jumping isnt really my thing (due to the hip). I am great with kids as long as they are of the older variety and even other pets. I had a sister but she recently went to Heaven. I am an inside dog but love to go for ... (Read More)rides just as long as its not in the back of your pickup truck. I have been nuetered and have all my shots and am ready to go to my new home. I am staying with freinds at the moment but they have pets of their own and too many can be too much if it goes for too long....if you get my drift. I'd love some place with a yard so I can just lay and enjoy the sunshine. If you would like for me to interview you or you have questions please contact my management consultants. Their names are Butch and Lisa. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Idaho
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Idaho Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina.
