Rescue Me ID: 15-07-09-00579Cooper (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

This is Cooper. I adopted him when he was probably about 9 months old from the Oregon Coast, about 5 months later we moved to Boise Idaho and have been here for 3 years since. Due to medical reasons (mine) I am trying to find him a really good home, hopefully with another, or more, dogs to play with. He loves dogs, more than people even. He likes to chase cats and squirrels but does not try to hurt them. He also likes playing with children. I believe he was abused so he is a big anxious around people but warms up to them quickly. He also has separation anxiety which is my fault. He howls and barks but does not destroy anything. He is ... (Read More)incredibly smart and would overcome this quickly with the proper training. Also being in a home with another dog would put a stop to the separation anxiety since he loves to play with doggies. He goes to doggie daycare on a regular basis and loves it there. I and the vet believe he is a lab/dachshund mix. He stands about 2 feet tall and is about 4 feet long from his nose to the end of his tail. I get asked on every outing what type of dog he is and everyone thinks he is the coolest dog they have ever seen. He has an amazing personality and is a very fun dog who loves to cuddle. I have all of his medical records and he is current on all of his shots. I believe he is allergic to grains and poultry so I have him on a special dog food, Merricks grain free pork. He eats lots of vegetables and some fruits too as treats. His favorite toy is shredding cardboard and destroying stuffed animals. Due to the mix of breeds he has oddly shaped front legs. They look a bit weird but the vet says they are fine and should not cause him any problems in life. I really want to find him the best of homes and am willing to help pay any medical bills later on down the road or anything, I'd just love to receive letters as to how he is doing and pictures too. Rescue Me ID: 15-06-12-00400Teddy Love (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Teddy Love is a 5 month old Dane cross. I am 90% sure he is a brother to the puppies we had a couple of months ago. Something I will never understand is why people love a puppy for only a short amount of time and then they decide oh....This puppy is going to grow into a dog. Ughhhhhh.. He has had his puppy shots and will be neutered as soon as our vet thinks he's old enough. We will also have him micro chipped. He is in a perfect foster home to give him the best chance to be a happy, socialized, gorgeous boy. Here is what his foster mom has to say about her Teddy Love. Teddy Love is a mommas boy. He came to me scared, unfamiliar and ... (Read More)very shy. The people who surrendered him said he had weird moods and only wanted attention sometimes. Well I can tell u Teddy is adorable ... Fun energetic and playful. He loves to cuddle kiss hug you name it. He has a minute or 2 of shyness with new people but he warms right up. He is about 5months old. He loves toys he will sit pretty for treats and is a awesome little puppy. He's doing better everyday wit potty training... He would be great wit other dogs, he has been around kids but I'm not sure they were all that nice to him. If you love him he will love you back. He's a puppy so normal chewing but toys help that a lot. He sleeps in the kennel next to my bed every night For an application please email kjfam@dcdi.net or call 208 339 0130 (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Meet Johnny! Johnny is 5 years young and is as loyal as they come! His loyalty is due to a perfect blend of chocolate lab and Newfoundland. As a puppy Johnny never received proper training and structure so his Newfy guarding tendencies were all askew causing him to 'subdue' strange dogs. Since he has been with his foster family he has learned to not have to act on that urge and to use it more productively, like enjoying being by your side. Last summer, Johnny had a total hip replacement due to an old injury. He is like new! Johnny is looking for a home that will keep up with his behavioral therapy until it is far behind him. He does great ... (Read More)with other dogs after a brief introduction. He seems to care less about cats. He will need to be leashed at all times when he is away from home until he proves himself with all other strange dogs. He is neutered and UTD on shots. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Zoey is a beautiful three year old. Zoey was abandon by her previous owners, when they moved and left her behind; Zoey waited without food or water for them to return. A good Samaritan found her and took her in and nursed her back to health. Circumstances prevent them from keeping Zoey, and have asked the rescue to take her and find her a home. Zoey loves attentions, kids, toys and belly rubs. She loves to play fetch, enjoys swimming, and learning new tricks. She knows basic commands, is ok with other dogs with a proper meet and greet and patiences; though she would be better as an only dog. She will be a loving, faithful companion, with ...     Lab Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Idaho Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. The Labrador Retriever is by far the most popular dog in the U.S. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
