Lucy is the perfect companion. She has had 7 years experience in being someone's best friend. She is also spayed and is simply a loving lady. She loves people and has very wonderful manners! Lucy sometimes can get excited and wants to jump up to get even closer, but she corrects very well and we are teaching her how to be extra polite! Lucy walks beautifully on a leash and she knows how to sit! In her previous home, she was an A+ student when it came to being house-trained and not being destructive when left alone. Lucy does get a little nervous when she hears thunder and fireworks. She likes to sit close to you then. Lucy is a ... (Read More)low-key, chill pup. She doesn't cause any trouble and just wants to be wherever you are. She isn't too concerned with toys or treats; all she wants is affection. She would be a fantastic running partner! Lucy isn't a huge fan of kitties and/or female dogs. Per her previous owner, she has done very well with males dogs before! We are still her interactions at the shelter so we can get a better idea of what she would do best with! Come on by for a visit with this gorgeous girl! (Less)

Hello - my name is Aaron I am a healthy handsome young 3-year old Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire mix. I came in as a stray. I have become a 'favorite' because I'm super friendly and greet people with tail wags... I am vetted including neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip. I have enjoyed my time with MACC but I am ready for a home of my own, I need some training because I am a strong exuberant boy and need to learn manners. I am dog friendly with proper introductions but might be a little too excitable at first! A family with kids is fine by me, just means more belly rubs. I don't use the bathroom in my kennel at all. I ... (Read More)really love my daily exercise like long walks, jogging, agility activities and retrieving balls so I can burn off my excess energy and chill out.     This goofball is Mr. Al! He is silly, playful, and just has the best personality! Mr. Al is about one and a half years old or so. He is the best boy! Mr. Al adores people. He even used to live with tiny kiddos and did great! We do think given his size and energy level it'd be best for kiddos in the home to be about 8 and older. He loves treats and loves squeaky toys! Mr. Al is motivated to work for either! He is smart and catches on quickly - Mr. Al already knows how to sit, stay, and lay down! He did great in his previous home with being house-trained and also enjoyed hanging out in his crate! If allowed, he loves to sleep near you! ... (Read More)Mr. Al would be an awesome jogging/hiking/exploring partner - he's very outgoing! He likes to play with tug ropes and overall is just a happy dude! We are continuing to watch Mr. Al's interactions with other dogs and some kitties to see what he thinks. He definitely thinks lady dogs are quite pretty! Please check back for updates! If you are looking for a dog to take with you on your own adventures, Mr. Al is absolutely a perfect fit! (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

BONDED PAIR -- MUST BE ADOPTED INTO SAME HOUSEHOLD We've got the perfect 'bromance' with best friends, Peanut & Buster! They go together like peanut butter & jelly; and are best mates like Ben Affleck & Matt Damon! Peanut is the white one of the duo; he's a little needier than his brother and likes to stay closer to his people. Buster, the darker of the two, always has a goofy grin on his face ... like he's got a joke he's just dying to tell you! Both are sweet as can be! 'The boys' (as we call them) definitely need to stay together when they are adopted; they've been together since birth (we believe them to be brothers) and are too ... (Read More)bonded to separate. Peanut & Buster are all trained and ready to be a member of a family; they potty outside & stay in their crates contentedly. These boys love everybody! Smiling faces & wagging tails are displayed for every person they meet. Peanut & Buster are super with other dogs as well; they like to play & wrestle some but also enjoy basking in the sunshine. The boys are active but definitely not hyper; they enjoy walks and are great car companions as well. Because they are social & easygoing, Peanut & Buster would do well just about anywhere. They are such good boys and whoever gets them is going to be so very lucky!!! The adoption fee for the pair is $325; they are neutered, microchipped, on monthly heartworm preventative and current on vaccinations. 'The boys' are 3 year old lab/beagle (& probably 3-4 other breeds) and weigh about 45 lbs. :-) Before a meet is set up, we require an adoption application be filled out. Rescue Me ID: 18-06-01-00139Kasey (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Kasey! She's a truly special girl! She is a 10 year old great dane/lab mix who weighs about 65 lbs. She was dumped at a convenience store where she scavenged for food and fought to survive for over a month. Luckily, we heard about her plight and were able to rescue her. Kasey is extremely people oriented and likes nothing better than to be pressed up against you, getting her ears scratched; she openly demonstrates her pleasure in this by sighing deeply & closing her eyes in contentment while getting this much loved attention. She is a sensitive, gentle girl who will be a great companion. Kasey does well with other dogs in a ... (Read More)daycare setting but would be happiest as an 'only child' where she can be the soul recipient of all the TLC. After what she's been through, she surely deserves it! Due to being dumped, Kasey does suffer from some separation anxiety so would prefer to have someone who's home the majority of the time. Her foster parents crate her when they go to work so that she has a safe place to sleep; it minimizes her anxiety when she's in her 'haven'. Kasey is potty trained and a great house guest; she's low energy but does enjoy walks and outings. In summary, Kasey is going to make someone very very happy. We believe she has a destiny; that someone has a hole in their heart that she will be able to fill ... someone who needs her gentle, sweet, loving soul to make them whole again. We are really looking forward to finding that person for her. Kasey's adoption fee is $175; she is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations & heartworm preventative. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

BONDED PAIR - MUST BE ADOPTED INTO THE SAME HOUSEHOLD. Hugo. 3 year old Male German Shepherd/Lab mix. Frannie. 3 year old Female German Shepherd/Lab mix. Both spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped. Prefer to be in a home where they are the only dogs. No cats. Adoption fee for pair - $275 Due to Hugo's energy and exuberance as well as Frannie's anxiety, we don't think they would do well in a home with children under 12 years of age. The Love Story of Hugo & Frannie ... it's like the film - When Harry Met Sally - a true romance! Both dogs have sad histories. Hugo was starved nearly to death by negligent owners ... (Read More)while Frannie lived on the streets as a stray, fighting for survival from dog attacks and having to search for any scrap of food for months. Hugo, who has a lot of energy and hates being alone, desperately needed a girlfriend who would not be afraid of his size and would play and roughhouse with him.. Before she met Hugo and because of her experiences with other dogs while living the hobo life, Frannie was terrified of other dogs and would react aggressively when they met. Deep down though, Frannie didn't want to be alone either. When Frannie met Hugo, it was pretty close to love at first sight. Within minutes, they were chasing each other, wrestling and so totally thrilled at meeting their soulmates. For the first time in her life, Frannie had found a dog friend and, even better, a kindred spirit! Hugo had finally found that playful BFF who would always be by his side! They each fill the other's needs - dare we say it? - Hugo completes Frannie. Hugo is outgoing and brave while Frannie suffers from some anxiety probably because she had been beaten in her past. Hugo's confidence gives Frannie the courage she needs to handle strange situations and she's learned from him that people are safe. Hugo won't ever be alone while Frannie is by his side. It's truly a match made in Heaven so we want this wonderful pair to stay together forever! Hugo is our vocalist; he will carry on a full conversation with you when he wants to go outside or wants to eat or just wants attention. It's so funny! Frannie is sweet and gentle and gives the best kisses! This duo will make great additions to the family lucky enough to adopt them. They love walks and car rides, but just letting them run and cavort in a fenced in yard gives them so much joy as well! You won't need a TV if you have this pair! They are pure entertainment and such great company! Pull up a lawn chair, grab a pizza and let the show begin. Please note: Hugo suffers from allergies and will require medication for the extent of his life. If you are interested in adopting the pair, the first step is to fill out an adoption application.     Meet Bear! Bear was originally adopted out as a puppy in 2016 but was recently returned by his owner when she said she couldn't care for him. We believe he is a basset/lab mix. He is around 2 years old. Bear is a mellow, low key fella and likes to just hang out and relax. Bear prefers women over men, but does do well with both. Bear gets along with all dogs at the sanctuary. If he gets scared or 'over it' he simply walks away. He prefers calmer dogs. He does well with cats, with a proper introduction. Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: Very High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Fallon 2 year old Anatolian Shepherd/Lab; 70 lbs; good with people & older kids; Not good with small dogs. Gets along well with all medium to large male dogs and is ok with non-dominant female dogs. No cats! Adoption fee $200 Fallon is such a beautiful girl!!!!! She is strikingly good looking and gets complements all the time but she doesn't let it go to her head! She's a tomboy who likes to rough & tumble and chase more than anything; playing with other dogs is definitely her favorite thing to do. When we got her, she'd been abused so was timid with new people, especially men. But she's blossomed into a happy, well-adjusted ... (Read More)girl who enjoys attention and getting her ears scratched. She's active so would be a great running partner but would be equally happy racing around the back yard after toys. Her favored playmates are males ... she's not a 'girly-girl' but she is fine with females; she just doesn't really romp with them. Because of her anatolian heritage, she instinctively is protective of her people and property. When her foster mom is around, she's very social and friendly with visitors. But if strangers appear and mom's not home, Fallon is definitely stand-offish. She's extremely loyal and very eager to please so would excel in obedience training, She appears to be potty trained and, although she loves toys (especially the squeaky ones!), she is not destructive with them. She is protective of her food with other dogs (but not with people) so isn't recommended in a home with children under 10 years old. *********If a dog is listed on this site, they are still available for adoption. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Nugget is a 2 year old lab/mastiff mix and is a BIG boy weighing in at 75 pounds. Nugget came to us when he was 5 months old. His previous 'family' had left him behind when they moved out of their apartment. It was over a week before Nugget was discovered in a crate in the abandoned apartment. He was pretty malnourished too. Another tenant took him in but he quickly outgrew the 25 pound weight limit and that is when we took him in. Nugget is an absolute goof who is completely unaware of his size. He is constantly tripping over his feet and you can't help but laugh at his silly demeanor. Nugget's two favorite past times are playing and ... (Read More)eating. He is definitely a follower. He is a super smart boy and picks things up quickly, it is cute when you can see the wheels turning. :) After Nugget has had his daily play/exercise he calms down fairly easy. Nugget needs to have an active home with at least one other dog (the more the merrier). He needs a fenced in yard that is at least 6 ft high, he can jump really high. No kitties for this guy. He would be best in a home with no children or older children as he is very clumsy and can easily knock a small child down unintentionally. He is crate trained and house broken, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Nugget is a sweet, goofy boy that deserves a happy forever. Could you be his forever home?     Hi Everyone, Jasmine here! I have been waiting a long time for my perfect family, 2 years now! That is 730 days! I had been adopted before but it simply didn't work out, the other dog in the home didn't really like me. I also had some 'close adoptions' but then it was decided I wouldn't be a good fit, simply because of my breed. That made me really sad because I can't help what breed I am and really I am not scary. I am just a sweet girl who wants a family to call her own and I can be a total cuddle bug! I am really hoping I can find my forever family in time to go on some adventures this Spring and Summer. I really love all seasons and ... (Read More)just being outdoors. I am told I make the perfect hiking, running, walking, swimming buddy. I am always up for an adventure! I am around 2 years old and believed to be a lab/pitbull mix. I do fine with cats as long as I am properly introduced to them. I absolutely love children! I simply adore them and would love to have a home with a kid of my own in it. I can have trust issues with new dogs, simply because I have been attacked a few times. I don't mind being the only dog, but if you have other dogs it would be best if they are non-confrontational and won't challenge me. I may need to take several meet and greets before I am comfortable around them. I am house and crate trained, spayed and up to date on vaccines. I am told I am easy to train and I just love going on adventures. I need an active family for sure! I wind down easy and then love to snuggle with my people. I know my forever family is out there, they just haven't found me yet. But I know they are out there ready to love me for me! Jasmine just needs someone who is willing to give her a chance and the time needed to build trust. Once you have that bond with her you won't be disappointed. Could you be Jasmine's perfect forever?
