Lab Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

How old do you think I am? Take a guess! Your very best estimate! I bet you one yummy milkbone that you didn't get I was 13 years old, did you?! Well, I am actually 13 years young and my name is Daisy. I'm not a large girl, maybe around 40-45 pounds or so! I am looking for a new home to live out my beautiful golden years in. I'm not asking for much, but here is what I am looking for... I like a relatively quiet and calm household. Lots of kiddos running around with puppies and kittens is not the best fit for me. But that isn't because I don't like them, it's just because I am not a spring chicken anymore and that kinda energy doesn't ... (Read More)appeal to me anymore. But, I LOVE going on walks! I am a polite leash-walker and hardly pull at all. I like to be around you. I like to keep you company while you watch that Netflix network or whatever it is! And guess what - I have had over a decade of experience in being a loyal companion. I haven't forgotten anything I've learned and I know I can continue to be someone's new best friend. I really would like to be the only animal in my new home. Other relaxed and older dogs may be okay for me, but I don't like a lotta commotion, so calmer pups would be best, if any at all. I'm not too crazy about those kitties. I do prefer anyone in my new home to be at least teenagers and older. I am respectful when my people are respectful to me. I don't cause any issues in the home when left alone and I really do great with being house-trained. I know how to sit, come, and shake paws! I am calm and quiet in the shelter. The new, nice and fluffy bed they gave me is lovely. I am appreciative of it! Please think of all of the amazing traits I offer as a senior gal. I am already spayed, am up-to-date on all vaccines, and I am microchipped. As far as my new friends here at the shelter can tell, my health is pretty outstanding! Please come meet me. Love, Daisy.     Please read entire description. Lily's adoption fee is $175. If you are interested in meeting Lily please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Lily. This sweet, petite girl is almost 1 year old and weighs about 30 pounds. She came to us as an owner surrender from a family who could no longer have her due to breaking their lease. Lily had grown up with her mom who looked like a very small, yellow lab mix with huge ears. She also had cats in her home and is very indifferent to the felines. Lily has a very sweet but shy personality. She is initially a bit cautious and nervous ... (Read More)around new people and new experiences but eventually warms right up and does well. Lily is learning to walk on leash in her foster home and spends time with a canine foster brother and several kitties. She is a co-exist type of dog with other dogs and completely ignores the cats. Lily would do fine with children who are more adult sized and understand she is initially timid. Infants and toddlers are overwhelming to her at this point in her life. Lily would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She is crate trained and comfortable in a kennel when unsupervised. She likes to watch out the windows and is starting to enjoy car rides. Lily is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Lily, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Please read entire description. Pax's adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Pax. This young, handsome boy was found as an abandoned stray with a littermate, Arlo, who has already found his forever home. Pax is about 8-9 months old and is very medium sized. He is a lab/pit mix and weighs about 45 pounds. Pax has a beautiful shiny, reverse brindle coat that looks mostly black, then will look dark chocolate brown with gold brindle throughout. He has a very distinct look and is personality plus. Pax ... (Read More)loves to romp and run in the yard and play with toys. We believe that he would do best with another dog, we are unsure how he would do with cats. Pax would be good with children who are steady on their feet and know how to be gentle and appropriate with dogs. Pax is solidly housebroken and does fine in a crate. Pax is fairly quiet and doesn't bark much. Like many young pups, he can stand to learn a few things and seems to be an affectionate, quick learner. He especially loves treats and cookies and is very gentle around food. He walks well on leash and is very snuggly and attentive to his humans. Lab    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. Remi's adoption fee is $150. If the ad is still available, we are still accepting applications. The first and required step of the adoption process is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. We are looking for a home with a fenced yard, no small children, and no other pets. Meet Remi. This 6 year old, 60 pound, girl is pretty perfect in every way with the exception of adjusting to a new toddler in her life. Ultimately, this is why Remi is searching for a new home. Her family is heartbroken but must keep both Remi and their child safe and have exhausted ... (Read More)strategies to successfully continue to be together. She has had a great start in life and we know her next chapter, leading to her happy ending with a new family is just around the corner. Remi has been with the same family since she was a puppy. She has always been an inside dog with a fenced yard, which will be a requirement for her new home. Remi is solidly house trained and trustworthy to be confined in a room when alone. She is used to being alone up to an average of 8 hours a day during the work week. She has traveled quite a lot in her life and does very well in the car. She loves to go for walks, jogs, or hikes with her people. Her favorite game is fetch and she will do it for hours if you let her. Remi is happy to chew on antlers and is rather quiet in the home. Her favorite place to be is snuggled with you on the couch and even in your bed at night if you let her. Remi has no issues with anxiety and has no trouble with storms or fireworks. Besides small children, Remi dislikes the dryers at the groomers and cooking. Remi will disappear to the other room until you are done. She does have a sensitive stomach and has been eating Nature's Recipe grain-free food with no issues. Remi has co-existed with other dogs in the past but prefers to be an only pet in her home. She is too interested in cats to safely live with a feline. Remi is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in meeting Remi, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the required first step of the adoption process. Her adoption fee is $150. If you have any questions, please email us at pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com. (Less)

Both spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped. Prefer to be in a home where they are the only dogs. No cats. Adoption fee for pair - $275 Due to Hugo's energy and exuberance as well as Frannie's anxiety, we don't think they would do well in a home with children under 12 years of age. The Love Story of Hugo & Frannie ... it's like the film - When Harry Met Sally - a true romance! Both dogs have sad histories. Hugo was starved nearly to death by negligent owners ... (Read More)while Frannie lived on the streets as a stray, fighting for survival from dog attacks and having to search for any scrap of food for months. Hugo, who has a lot of energy and hates being alone, desperately needed a girlfriend who would not be afraid of his size and would play and roughhouse with him.. Before she met Hugo and because of her experiences with other dogs while living the hobo life, Frannie was terrified of other dogs and would react aggressively when they met. Deep down though, Frannie didn't want to be alone either. When Frannie met Hugo, it was pretty close to love at first sight. Within minutes, they were chasing each other, wrestling and so totally thrilled at meeting their soulmates. For the first time in her life, Frannie had found a dog friend and, even better, a kindred spirit! Hugo had finally found that playful BFF who would always be by his side! They each fill the other's needs - dare we say it? - Hugo completes Frannie. Hugo is outgoing and brave while Frannie suffers from some anxiety probably because she had been beaten in her past. Hugo's confidence gives Frannie the courage she needs to handle strange situations and she's learned from him that people are safe. Hugo won't ever be alone while Frannie is by his side. It's truly a match made in Heaven so we want this wonderful pair to stay together forever! Hugo is our vocalist; he will carry on a full conversation with you when he wants to go outside or wants to eat or just wants attention. It's so funny! Frannie is sweet and gentle and gives the best kisses! This duo will make great additions to the family lucky enough to adopt them. They love walks and car rides, but just letting them run and cavort in a fenced in yard gives them so much joy as well! You won't need a TV if you have this pair! They are pure entertainment and such great company! Pull up a lawn chair, grab a pizza and let the show begin.     Hi Everyone, Jasmine here! I have been waiting a long time for my perfect family, 2 years now! That is 730 days! I had been adopted before but it simply didn't work out, the other dog in the home didn't really like me. I also had some 'close adoptions' but then it was decided I wouldn't be a good fit, simply because of my breed. That made me really sad because I can't help what breed I am and really I am not scary. I am just a sweet girl who wants a family to call her own and I can be a total cuddle bug! I am really hoping I can find my forever family in time to go on some adventures this Spring and Summer. I really love all seasons and ... (Read More)just being outdoors. I am told I make the perfect hiking, running, walking, swimming buddy. I am always up for an adventure! I am around 2 years old and believed to be a lab/pitbull mix. I do fine with cats as long as I am properly introduced to them. I absolutely love children! I simply adore them and would love to have a home with a kid of my own in it. I can have trust issues with new dogs, simply because I have been attacked a few times. I don't mind being the only dog, but if you have other dogs it would be best if they are non-confrontational and won't challenge me. I may need to take several meet and greets before I am comfortable around them. I am house and crate trained, spayed and up to date on vaccines. I am told I am easy to train and I just love going on adventures. I need an active family for sure! I wind down easy and then love to snuggle with my people. I know my forever family is out there, they just haven't found me yet. But I know they are out there ready to love me for me! Jasmine just needs someone who is willing to give her a chance and the time needed to build trust. Once you have that bond with her you won't be disappointed. Could you be Jasmine's perfect forever? Please note: Hugo suffers from allergies and will require medication for the extent of his life. If you are interested in adopting the pair, the first step is to fill out an adoption application. lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Indiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
