I have been at the shelter since Jan 08, 2016.-- Roxy is a pretty and sweet girl. Roxy will need a gentle friend because she is very fearful at first meetings.     This is Cooper, formerly known as T880. Cooper is a young Labrador Retriever mix. He currently weighs 49.60 pounds and needs to gain another ten pounds to be at his ideal weight. Prior to being rescued Cooper spent 48 days in a public kill shelter with a confirmed broken leg! Despite his circumstances Cooper's spirits never wavered! He has all the characteristics one would expect from his breed. He is loyal, lovable, happy and friendly to all he meets. He is full of energy and will run to the door to greet you (or anyone, for that matter) as if you'd just returned from a year-long trip. He is truly 'man's best friend,' and happiest when ... (Read More)engaged in family activities or playing with his four-legged friends! As common with Retrievers, Cooper has energy to spare and would not be well suited for couch potatoes - don't get me wrong, Cooper loves to snuggle and will nap with you for several hours! He also loves running and can play fetch for hours on end. Cooper would be best suited for a home with a fenced yard and lots of room to romp. Labs are famous for being clumsy and Cooper is no different. He will run and slide around on wood floors and have you laughing at his antics in no time. Although clumsy, Cooper instinctively tries to be careful around small children. Cooper has been a breeze to train, and would make an excellent choice for a first time dog owner. He is house and crate trained. He knows basic commands although as a puppy he still has to be reminded what 'down' means when he greets you. Cooper was fostered in a home with a cat and quickly accepted her as part of his family. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and heart worm negative. Due to Cooper's injury it will be important for him to stay at his ideal weight and although he appears to be in NO discomfort Cooper takes a joint supplement just as a precaution. Cooper truly is a joy and wants nothing more than a family of his own! Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Laila is a great dog and is very friendly. She is my daughters dog along with 2 others, because of my daughters health she can no longer care for her dogs. They are left alone for at least 20 hours a day and are in need of a home where they can get the attention they need. We do not want to give her away but, I have three myself and cannot give them the care they need. So with lots of tears we have decided to find her 3 dogs homes.
