Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

ERNIE will be arriving at the rescue in Sebec, Maine by Sunday 30th April 2017, until then we do not have any information to offer. We will gladly accept applications so that we can process and hopefully get you pre-approved to adopt. Please do NOT waste our time by email asking for more information as those emails will be deleted. ERNIE was saved from a shelter in Texas. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick disease (SNAP 4DX) tested negative and micro-chipped. He has been estimated date of birth of 12 August 2015 and weighs around 36 pounds. We do not have cats in the rescue so are unable to comment on how ... (Read More)he would be around them. ERNIE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org ERNIE WILL BE located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen. (Less)

PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ ALL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO LEARN ALL ABOUT LOCATION AND ADOPTION OPTIONS. ASTRO was saved from Texas where most dogs in the kill shelters have 3 days to be saved before they are killed. ASTRO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick disease (SNAP 4DX) tested negative and micro-chipped. He has been estimated date of birth of 1 February 2015 and weighs around 35 pounds. %BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDASTRO was saved with his brother BENSON and both boys are so much fun. ASTRO is very puppy-like in his behaviour, he is so very happy, he loves to play with toys and chase around ... (Read More)wrestling and playing with his brother. He is great with other dogs and has been around small 5 pound dogs up to 95 pound dogs and gets on great with all of them. ASTRO uses the dog door to go out and do his business. He is a happy confident boy, so much life, energy and love to give. We do not have cats in the rescue so are unable to comment on how he would be around them. We would love to adopt both ASTRO and BENSON together as they clearly enjoy each other's company a lot, however, we will adopt them out individually to a family that can give them what they need. ASTRO would suit a relatively active fun family that has the time to work with him on her obedience and manners, who would take him on adventures and road trips and let him explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer. He would benefit from a family that has the time to work with him on basic and advanced obedience training. By working together both ASTRO and his humans can learn each others body language and personality, expectations and boundaries can be set and with self-training a stronger bond formed. We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per www.dogfoodadvisor.com) GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page! ASTRO is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of US $500 This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. Rescue Me ID: 17-03-17-00364SNOW (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ ALL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO LEARN ALL ABOUT LOCATION AND ADOPTION OPTIONS. SNOW was saved from Texas where most dogs in the kill shelters have 3 days to be saved before they are killed. SNOW is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick disease (SNAP 4DX) tested negative and micro-chipped. She has been estimated date of birth of 11 November 2015 and weighs around 45 pounds. SNOW had been adopted out from the shelter with her best friend ALICE (whom we also saved), however, both girls were returned due to the owner not having time for them. SNOW and ALICE were kenneled at the shelter together ... (Read More)and are best friends here at the rescue, constantly chasing, playing and wrestling with each other. SNOW is a happy, go-lucky, loveable girl, she does jump a little when she comes to greet you, but not too much that it can't be managed and with the appropriate training this is can easily be taught it is not accepted behaviour. SNOW is very affectionate and loves her belly-rubbed and ear scratched. She has been aged to be around 18 months, but does still act very puppy - this could be as she is happy and with her friends, getting plenty of exercise, play time, a good quality food and of course yummy treats. SNOW is great with all of the dogs here at the rescue ranging from 5 pound to 95 pounds. We do NOT have cats on the rescue so I am not in a position to comment on how he will be with cats. SNOW does use the dog door and comes and goes as she pleases, she has not had any accidents at the rescue, but I do not know if she would know how to let you know she needs to go out. SNOW would suit a relatively active fun family that would take her on adventures and road trips and let her explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer. She would benefit from a family that has the time to work with her on basic and advanced obedience training. By working together both SNOW and her humans can learn each others body language and personality, expectations and boundaries can be set and with self-training a stronger bond formed. It would be great to adopt both SNOW and Alice out together as they are such good friends and we have had an offer from a volunteer to donate $100 ($50 per dog) towards their adoption if they are adopted together. This is not a deal-breaker though and we would adopt them individually to the right family. We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per www.dogfoodadvisor.com) GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page! SNOW is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of US $500 This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Maine
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Maine if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
