Rescue Me ID: 14-07-21-00163Rayleigh (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Raleigh came up to live in NH after being rescued from a shelter in the south. He is a black lab mix and is approximately 8yrs old with plenty of life and energy left. He loves people and other dogs, always ready to make a new friend (unless it is of the feline variety, he is best if kept far away from them). He likes being with his person, especially if that means being outside and going for walks. He is also a fan of his bed after a long day or if he has been away on one of his crazy owner's trips for a few days. He is intelligent and loving, craving attention when he can get it. He should not be around younger children, especially if ... (Read More)unsupervised. It is for that reason that he is in need of a new home where he can have a quiet and relaxed retirement with someone willing to keep working with him. He is well loved in his current home and has made great strides since his arrival, but due to the frequent interactions with children that his owner has it would be in his best interest to find a new home.     Rusty is a sweet 10 year old love! He is a friendly boy, with so much life and love left to give. His human dad died at 27 in motorcycle accident 2 yrs ago...Rusty still cries when he sees motorcycles, he thinks his dad is on it, I guess. The former owner's parents kept Rusty but then the dad died of cancer the following yr, so the mom had to downsize and can no longer keep Rusty. He has been with this family since he was a puppy. Rusty is housebroken, friendly with other dogs though we think he might like to be in a home with no other pets, if you have another dog they would have to meet first. He is a sweet boy who loves tennis balls and ... (Read More)being near the ones he loves. Rescue will bring him to an adopter if you can't go and pick him up. (Less)

BUDDY-BOY actually picked his own foster home. The wife of a local police officer was walking on Deer Creek several weeks ago, and Buddy picked her out and followed her home. What a stroke of good luck for Buddy. Not only had he picked a true animal lover, but he now had 4 other foster siblings to play with. After searches turned up no owner for Buddy, our rescue was contacted to find him a home. Buddy has everything going for him. He is your typical, friendly Lab. He is great with other dogs and cats. Obviously friendly with adults and children. Buddy is house broken and fully vetted. He is a little thin at his current weight, but ... Rescue Me ID: 14-03-15-00380Chatham (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chatham is an energetic two-year-old (approximate age),male, lab mix. He is neutered, fully vetted, and up-to-date on all his shots. He is crate trained and house trained. He is friendly with other select dogs his size, but is more interested in chasing after cats than playing with them. He has not been around children before, but is very loving and friendly to all humans he meets! He is extremely loyal and loves to cuddle up on the couch or bed with you. He loves to play fetch and go for car rides too! He minds very well and knows the commands: sit, down, stay, heel, catch, drop, and stop. Chatham was enrolled and completed a boarded ... (Read More)training program through Saddleback Pet Services in New Hampshire with Nancy Fantom, Owner/Trainer. She worked with Chatham a great deal on his leash manners and behavior with other canine pals. Although the training was successful, Chatham needs a dedicated family that is willing to work with him and continue his training at home. He now has FREE training sessions for the remainder of his life with Nancy, so she is able to aid along with this process when needed as well. Since Chatham is so loyal it was discovered later on that he also has some separation anxiety. Currently, this is being treated with medication and behavior techniques, but a dedication to conquering this is essential too. Currently, Chatham resides with his foster Mom and Dad in Massachusetts and has been with them for about eight months now. They are unable to keep him permanently and are determined to find a wonderful family that will love him just as much as they do! Please contact ashley.ohearn@gmail.com or laurelsilvia@comcast.net. Lab Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We pulled dear, sweet Hank from a high kill shelter in TN. We think he is around eight years old. He is in great shape for a guy his age. He has a beautiful, thick, healthy black coat. He LOVES to play fetch. Don't let his age fool you, he still enjoys some activity! He is OK around other dogs but would love to be the center of your world. He seems to be hesitant around young children, unless they have a ball in their hand and then he is their best friend. 'Just throw that ball' is what he is thinking. He is such a wonderful boy who is so happy to be loved on.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in New Hampshire
Lab Dogs can make good pets in New Hampshire if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
