Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Bella is a 6 year old lab basset mix with a very sweet temperament and would love to be your lap dog. She weighs about 60 pounds. She would be best in a home without other pets. She is great with groups of dogs but can become aggressive. She also needs a home where someone is there the majority of time as she has bad separation anxiety and will bust out of crates and try to get out the door she sees you leave from. She loves to walk and run so needs a small amount 9f daily exercise and a harness type leash as she pulls. Fee is negotiable but i will need veterinarian reference and to speak with you.

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi there, my name's Andre and I'm a 15 month old neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier / Lab blend who's known to be a true SWEETHEART ! I had run out of time at a local kill shelter, looking so sick and emaciated that people just passed me by... But my CALM energy, GENTLE nature and LOVING demeanor immediately convinced a kind lady there to ask my rescue friends for help so 'Lady Luck' was with ME that day ! With just a little TLC (ie, good food) from my foster Mom, I've blossomed into the darling little clown she knew was lurking inside. Just look at me now ~ I'm happy, healthy, hysterically funny, outgoing, super smart, well ... (Read More)mannered, confident and sport a GORGEOUS thick coat of soft fur that makes me TOTALLY ready to find my forever home! It's such a shame that some people can't 'see' a black dog - known as BDS or 'black dog syndrome,' many humans simply walk right past us, do not see 'us' and never even know we're there because they think we look scary or mean just because of our dark color ~ it sure wasn't MY choice, I assure you. But NO hard feelings ~ I'm a VERY FRIENDLY guy who loooooves to run and play outside, GREAT with other dogs and I'm impeccably well behaved indoors, settling in nicely at your feet so we can read, nap or couch surf and watch movies. My STUNNING (or so I'm frequently told) velvet soft fur is so pleasant to pet and my goofy facial expressions keep everyone rolling in laughter, and I do looooove to entertain! I also love long walks, hikes, running with my favorite human, or just about anything you care to do that lets us spend time together. I also enjoy our many touring adventures, loading up instantly in even the largest model SUV's where I settle in comfortably by a window to take in the scenery ~ they don't have to ask me twice 'cause I'm ALWAYS up for another new adventure ~ hey, life is GOOD folks so it's best to enjoy it while we can, right ?!? I'd make a WONDERFUL addition to any family looking to add a silly four legged member to their human pack. I'm a FUNNY guy who loves to please his people and is eager to learn new things%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| I'd really like to have a special person(s) of my very own, one who'll teach me new things and maybe even take me to classes where I can show off my talents ~ I promise to shower YOU with love and a life time of devotion in return! Delightfully SMART, Gentle & Kind to ALL he Meets :) Why wait???     Hi. My name is Brooke. I'm about 7 or 8 years old, am probably a mixed breed that includes some Chow Chow, and I'm a happy girl. I am all black, short haired, and I get along with most other dogs. I am learning to walk on a leash, I come when you call me, and I love to smile, wag, and get petted. When I'm out of my kennel, I enjoy running and playing. The only thing I need is a family of my own. I've been living with other rescued dogs since September 2013, after I was saved from an abusive situation in Chaparral, NM, and am now waiting in a foster home.     Hello. My name is Abby. I'm a small Lab mix, 4 years old, and I am searching for someone to love me. I would do best in an adult-only home. I survived horrible conditions for a long time at a dog 'sanctuary' in Chaparral, NM that was closed in September 2013. I still have the scars and only half of a tail. Rescuers found me, gave me a warm bed and good food. I am currently living in a foster home with some other nice dogs. I am good with some dogs and walk well on leash with familiar people. I am still uncomfortable until I get to know you, so I need patience and understanding. I am already spayed and I have all my vaccinations. I love toys, ...     Goldie is a happy go lucky, loving, kind hearted fun dog. She is 7 years old. She loves to walk. We had to put her buddy Leo down, they loved each other so much and played all the time. Her perfect home is with other active dogs on some land where she can run and roam. She is a lovely dog for adults and kids. She loves dogs and cats. She loves to sleep in the bed at night. If she had buddies I'm sure she would sleep on a dog bed with them. She slept with Leo on a big dog bed in the bedroom. She loves to cuddle and lick her dog buddies. She does snore sometimes. She is also a good guard dog, she'll bark if something is wrong. There is not ... (Read More)a bad bone in her body. Her right foot is curvy due to a deformity so she needs to take glucosamine supplements. She also eats crunch without corn, soy or wheat. She loves yogurt, apples, peanut butter and treats. She sits on command, comes to you and would love to do agility courses as long as there is a treat! I have her medical records. She is very healthy just needs some wide open spaces and more companions to run with. I'm recently divorced, my lifestyle has changed. I used to work at home and live on 2 acres. I'm now working full time and must live in the city renting. I feel really bad that I must give Goldie away I'm doing it for her well being she deserves it! She doesn't need suburbia or an apartment. She needs doggie companions and ability to run and take daily walks. She loves the car but needs a good walk before going on a trip. She's definitely a free spirit! A wonderful companion! I've got many calls from people that want her as a single dog. I'm only interested in placing her with other happy go lucky dogs. I have lots of wonderful pictures I can send you. We can make an appointment. If you love her then I would want to visit your home to make sure it's a great fit. I live in Santa Fe New Mexico. The adoption fee is $100 that includes her prescription glucosamine, up to date blood work, shots, bedding, food and toys. Thanks for viewing. (Less)

Huey is a remarkable boy we rescued from death row in a high kill, small town New Mexico Shelter. He is the most loving and snuggly dog you could imagine. Huey needs a place safe away from children. After having him in our home only six weeks, there was a terrible incident where he got overly excited over a cat who came into our yard. In that excited state he bit our 2 year old neighbor. We were lucky it was only stitches for her since Huey is a strong dog with a strong jaw. Now we cannot have Huey in our home because we live in a duplex situation with the family with the 2 year old, and no rescues in New Mexico will take a dog who has ... (Read More)bitten a child. He is currently in boarding indefinitely. Huey would love a place to run and play, is good with other dogs, mostly, but has gotten into a couple of fights with male dogs. Seems better with female dogs in general. Huey needs a stable environment where he can feel safe and blossom into the dog we all know he can be. (Less)

Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. The Labrador Retriever is by far the most popular dog in the U.S. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
