Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Meet Harper!! A very sweet loveable girl!! She is one year old. She walks pretty good on a leash--she does best on a harness, likes to go for walks. She will pull if she sees other animals (rabbits, etc.). She gets along well with a little female terrier in the household but has not been around other dogs. She is playful. She is a medium sized dog around 50 lbs. Is not a barker unless someone is around. Doesn't jump up. Hasn't tried to get out of the yard with a low fence. She is a house dog. Rescue Me ID: 16-12-20-00253Hershey (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier Age: 1 years Sex: Spayed Female Vaccinations: Current Health: No known health concerns Other Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown House Trained: Yes Other Training: Hershey knows 'sit' and is a great jogging partner, but needs some work on regular leash walking and basic obedience. Hershey is being fostered in Alamogordo NM. This wonderful girl was let down by her people. She was adopted from a local animal shelter, and then when her people were going to move, they decided to leave her behind. They took her to the animal shelter to leave her there, but didn't want to pay the $20 surrender fee, so instead they ... (Read More)drove away and then left her on the side of the road. One of our members was driving by and picked her up, then got the story from animal control. This beautiful girl deserves a home that will love her forever and never abandon her again. Hershey loves people more than anything. She just wants to always be with you and, while she doesn't know much in the way of training now, seems very eager to please. She is completely housetrained and loves to snuggle. She does ok on walks and would make a good running partner for short to mid distances. Hershey gets along well with other dogs. Hershey did ok when introduced to a cat, and it's possible she could learn to live with one, but she would need to be closely supervised and taught appropriate behavior. Hershey is an excellent snuggle buddy for watching TV cuddling on the couch, or for keeping your feet warm in bed at night. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

NOVA is a laborador/Golden retriever/cattle dog mix (DNA test confirmed), approx. 2.5 years old, 70 lb. spayed female. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, is microchipped, and has graduated from Petsmart's beginner training class. She is great with kids and cats, but she needs to be the only dog, as she gets jealous easily and this is causing problems for her. She is a great dog for someone who likes to hike or be outdoors, and she loves to be with her family no matter what they are up to. She is a sweetheart and loves to cuddle, either on the couch or at your feet (she is very much a velcro-dog). Her tennis ball is her favorite toy, ... (Read More)and she loves to run and play. Nova is house broken and crate trained. She would do best in a home that has a large fenced yard, but she does just fine indoors as long as she gets regular exercise. A home visit/meet and greet will be conducted to make sure she is going to a good home. References of any potential adopters will be requested and checked. On her own, she really is a fantastic, sweet dog and it breaks my heart to have to let her go! More photos available upon request, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. We are in Tijeras, NM, but I would be willing to help transport her out of state, so long as she goes to a great home. Please text me if you are interested in meeting her. (Less)

Hello. My name is Abby. I'm a small Lab mix, 4 years old, and I am searching for someone to love me. I would do best in an adult-only home. I survived horrible conditions for a long time at a dog 'sanctuary' in Chaparral, NM that was closed in September 2013. I still have the scars and only half of a tail. Rescuers found me, gave me a warm bed and good food. I am currently living in a foster home with some other nice dogs. I am good with some dogs and walk well on leash with familiar people. I am still uncomfortable until I get to know you, so I need patience and understanding. I am already spayed and I have all my vaccinations. I love toys, ...     Elle and her brother, Cay, were dropped off at the local Circle K store. An alert clerk called us to come rescue them before they could get into trouble. We figure the pups are around 8 months old at the time of this posting. Elle always has a smile on her face and a wag on her tail. She would make a great family pet.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in New Mexico
Lab Dogs can make good pets in New Mexico if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina.
