Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name's Jeter and I'm a 2 year old neutered male American Staffordhire Terrier / Lab mix who's said to be a VERY SPECIAL find 'cause I'm the friendliest dog in town! I'm a big GENTLE clown who loves to snuggle and a bit of a Momma's boy too but I'm the consummate house dog who knows how to behave like a gentleman, both indoors AND out! I have a stable, even temperament: CALM, highly INTELLIGENT, easy to train, AFFECTIONATE, extremely gentle and very WELL BEHAVED indoors knowing that's the place to be kicked back. I'm a SWEET boy who is super socialized, housebroken, crate trained and even sits for treats and/or attention instantly. I ... (Read More)love to lay at your feet and play with my bone(s) or favorite toys and especially enjoy car rides where I sit nicely to take in the scenery! I can be a top athlete, if someone(s) wants to walk, run, jog or play but I always mind my manners in any situation. I make sure to announce the arrival of any strangers but I'm especially good with people ~ even the mailman! I have a heart of gold so I' GREAT with other dogs and known to be beyond FABULOUS with children because I got to practice with a 4 yr old little girl ~ she's my BEST FRIEND 'cause she likes to share her treats! (Though I would never, ever take something of hers that wasn't offered.) Not too fond of cats though, pesky mean things that scratched my face... that hurt! But I'm SUPER EASY on a leash, learn really quickly and love to please. My foster Mom says I'm the PERFECT canine ambassador, a GREAT COMPANION and friend because I have a heart as big as all outdoors. I'm just happy she's so pleased with me, but then I'm a HAPPY kinda guy anyway ~ bright and cheerful is what I'm all about! I'm looking for a special person(s) or a family of my own so I can stick by your side through thick and thin 'cause I'm the most LOYAL friend you'll ever encounter! Why wait??? Rescue Me ID: 16-06-07-00319Huey (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Huey is a remarkable boy we rescued from death row in a high kill, small town New Mexico Shelter. He is the most loving and snuggly dog you could imagine. Huey needs a place safe away from children. After having him in our home only six weeks, there was a terrible incident where he got overly excited over a cat who came into our yard. In that excited state he bit our 2 year old neighbor. We were lucky it was only stitches for her since Huey is a strong dog with a strong jaw. Now we cannot have Huey in our home because we live in a duplex situation with the family with the 2 year old, and no rescues in New Mexico will take a dog who has ... (Read More)bitten a child. He is currently in boarding indefinitely. Huey would love a place to run and play, is good with other dogs, mostly, but has gotten into a couple of fights with male dogs. Seems better with female dogs in general. Huey needs a stable environment where he can feel safe and blossom into the dog we all know he can be. (Less)

Hi, my name's Keisha! I'm 2 year old spayed female Yellow Lab mix who's known to be a HAPPY, healthy, outgoing, SUPER SMART, well mannered and very AFFECTIONATE young Lady who's totally ready to find my fur~ever home. I absolutely love to play with other dogs and humans (if someone initiates the game, pays to mind one's manners ya know) and I've completely mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'wait' and 'load up' commands plus I'm even spotlessly house and crate trained ~ and even leash trained too ~ putting my head right through the loop and walking out nicely on lead to go for another adventure! I'm a VERY FRIENDLY girl who loves to run and play ... (Read More)outside with humans or dogs and am very WELL BEHAVED indoors, settling in nicely at your feet so we can read, nap or watch movies. I also love long walks or hikes with my favorite human(s), or just about anything you care to do that lets us spend time together.     Due to her loving nature, Lovely has been hand selected by PACA volunteers/ trainers to participate in the Paz Project at Bernalillo County Youth Services, a collaborative effort between PACA and the Bernalillo County Youth Services Center to expose at risk youth to positive experiences with dogs to teach the youth empathy, compassion, and acceptance. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-09-00001Cassidy (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed

I am Cassidy, a beautiful, lovely lab cattle dog mix. I am looking for a new home because my parent is very sick and can no longer care for me and my brother and sisters. I am a little shy at first, but warm up to people quickly. I am about 4-6 years old and I weigh about 65 pounds. I would love a home where I can just be loved and given a nice soft dog bed. If you want more than one dog, I get along fabulously with my siblings Butch, Sundance and Etta Jane. But I don't have to live with them, I might like your dog or just to be a single companion. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-08-00498Sundance (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed

Sundance brings sunshine to every day with her happy go lucky ways. She is a five year old black Labrador possibly mixed with border collie. She has a trademark border collie white tip on her tail. Sundance came to us when her owner fell ill. She and her three dog siblings lived as a family but never left the property they were born on. Sundance was unsure about the bigger world outside her home But she is making remarkable progress in her foster home. After just a few days she has become a more confident happy dog. She enjoys walks and has good leash manners. She was kept as an indoor dog so she understands house manners and how to use a ... (Read More)doggie door. She is starting to show interest in toys as well. Sundance benefits from another dog companion to show her the ropes, but would be fine as a single dog with someone that can help maintain her progress. She doesn't mind cats either. Sundance will make a nice companion to someone that desires an easy keeper. After her daily walk, when she smiles with joy, she likes to spend her day hanging out with her human friends and lounging in the grass Contact Trish at 505-907-3791 or email pacatrish@yahoo.com (Less)

Brock is a happy boy now that he doesn't have to live on a chain anymore. He is a 50 pound lab mix and is quickly learning to love the comforts of the indoors. Brock walks nicely on a leash. He is a little eager to meet people and may jump, but as he is having more attention and exercise, this behavior is improving, as he is a smart boy. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

DuPont was found running down the street. Her owner was found but they gave her up due to poor housing issues, they basically have no where to keep her so she roams the neighborhood. She is a beautiful dog, she looks like a lab-heeler mix, all black with some oreo blizzard patterning on her paws, belly, and an adorable M on her forehead. She is currently being kept by the people who found her but they cannot keep her much longer as they have quite a few animals. They say she is a joy, a happy go lucky dog with only love and energy to give. She likes to lick your fingers as you walk by. She was originally from a junk yard and gets excited ...     Sandy is happy go lucky. He is about 1 year old. He is full of playful energy and is very affectionate. He is a people pleaser. He tends to jump up but his foster parents are working on that and he could use some obedience training. lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost New Mexico Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
