Rescue Me ID: 14-09-17-00417Rosie (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Rosie wandered around town for about a week before a kind citizen caught her and turned her over to animal control. She is a VERY sweet dog who gets along with everybody. She appears to be housebroken, walks on a leash, likes to play and go for walks, but is a bit up there in age, probably around 9 or 10. When she's cleaned up she is white with brindle spots, right now she's muddy with brindle spots. She had no collar or id and she doesn't act like she's from this area. Possibly someone came to our small town and threw her away. I think she would adjust to a new home easily, and if you are looking for an older dog, here is your girl.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-04-00213Nilla (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nilla is a Lab/Sharpei/Collie Mix. She is about 40 pounds and around 1 yr old. She was found in the middle of the road and not claimed at animal control. She was rescued from death row. She hasn't been taught manners, so we are working on that. Is house trained, uses a dog door, loves to play, needs a home that will give her regular activity. Acts like her prior owner never worked with her to teach her manners, never excersized her, but she wasn't abused. They likely got her without doing research into her breed.

Jake is a 7-year old Golden Lab. Very sweet and quiet. He has been well trained and is obedient. I rescued him from being euthanized. He does have some problems that need to be taken care of daily. He has Pannus and needs eye drops daily and also a couple of other problems he needs medication for. We are trying to find him a home because we are at work all day and do not feel it is fair to the dog. He would do best with someone who is at home all day and can pay attention to him. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-09-00553FRECKLES (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

FRECKLES is terrific in the house and in the yard too, very well-behaved, doesn't get into mischief, entertains herself with her toys and chewies. She likes to be with people she knows and trusts and possibly a doggie friend (doggie daycare really liked her). She's been through so much and we're so proud of where she is now. She's very smart, loving and listens very well. She loves comforts like beds, couches and does not like to be left outside for any unusual weather. She would do best with someone who works from home, but if you have a dog friend for her (preferably male) she can wait for your love when you come home. Freckles rides ... (Read More)very well in the car and loves going to the drive-thru with you for a snack. She loves getting her belly rubbed and to cuddle and kiss and will climb into your lap if you're ok with that. She was continuously abused and then abandoned, left for dead. She's missing some teeth where she tried to free herself from the deathtrap. So to make friends with people she just needs to observe them a few minutes while the people ignore her and then when she's ready, she'll come up to the person to be petted or get a treat. Then her lovable self shows! She is emotional, deeply bonds, and often makes cute expressions and sounds. She can be a clown. But if she thinks someone is yelling at her, she cowers to the ground, tail between legs, as if waiting to be hit. You just want to hug her :-) She has a story and she's come full circle. We really love this girl ! She needs an experienced dog person/family who will understand it will take just a little to help her feel secure and then she will open up and be her lovable self. Approximately 2 1/2 years old, spayed, about 55 lbs, housetrained, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please contact Desert Paws Animal Rescue 505-702-9396 DesertPawsNM@live.com DesertPawsNM.org (Less)

There has been quite a discussion on what they are really a mix of: lab, heeler, pointer, border collie have all been mentioned. Nobody is quite sure what they are mixed with. Uni is good with dogs and kids. She is doing good at her foster home and is pretty much housebroken. She loves to play. She is already learning basic obedience. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

BENTLEY IS a wonderful dog, exceptionally sweet and willing. He does have quite a bit of energy having come from months of being kenneled , but he seems to be relaxing a lot now that he gets to run around all the time. This dog will make a fine companion for an active family or individual. He is happy go lucky, gets along with the other dogs great, and he is relaxed around the cats too. Everything we do with Bentley comes easy so we know he will train very quickly. He is not a real big guy so the mastiff is just a guess, he weighs in at about 65 lbs.     This is Kona. He is about 7 years old. He has a ton of love to give, but our living situation has changed and we can no longer keep him. He loves to go on hikes and has a lot of energy to burn. He is completely house trained and doesn't have any accidents. He used a doggy door in the past and can be trained to do it again. Also only chews his toys and won't rip anything in the house up. He can get a little rough while playing, thats why we put he's not good with kids. When meeting a new dog he can get aggressive, but has lived with multiple dogs over the years and hasn't had any problems. It breaks my heart to give him up, but he deserves to ...
