My life was in danger and I missed my home. I am smart! I know sit, stay, down and high 5's! I am mellow and like a calmer environment no wild little pooches or kids. Ommmmm....I am a zen kind of dog. An experienced rescue dog person would be best for me as I have a few workable issues but, I am trying! So, can you find room for me, please.... Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Purdy is a funny, mostly friendly girl that wants to play, gets excited when you come home and also wants to get a lot of attention that I don't believe she had before. Purdy was found as a stray, very thin and a bit unsure of people. She took to me right away and has made great strides in learning her manners. I just can't get her to stop jumping up in excitement when I come home. She bonded quickly but as a rescue we can't keep her from finding her forever home and the one to one attention she craves. I love this girl and her quirky personality. She does want to be protective of her person though so needs more training on how to do that ... (Read More)respectfully. I put that her Human compatibility is unknown only because she is picky and will bark at someone she is unsure of. She has not been around a lot of little kids so will need to be monitored. This picture is her giving me the stink eye for waking her up. LOL I will send more when you email and also answer any other questions you have. Purdy is about 45 pounds and is approx. 1 1/2 years old. (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lola is a 2 yr old Lab mix rescued from a high kill TX shelter. She is a shy yet sweet, funny girl who is very energetic and playful with other dogs. Lola has slowly blossomed over time in foster care since being rescued last September of 2015, when she was quite scared of people. Still somewhat timid around new human faces, she does take awhile to warm up to you, but soon follows the behavioral lead of other dogs that she observes around people, and has come to crave love and attention just like the rest of them. Lola has never met a dog she didn't like, and loves to romp and play outside with her other foster playmates; because of her ... (Read More)energy and affinity for other dogs, she would do best in a home where she would have access to lots of outdoor exercise and engagement with other dogs. Lola is housetrained, and can use a doggy door; she is still learning how to walk on a leash. Lola is still quite puppyish in her affinity for chewing, but loves to play tug-of-war, and chew on bones as a distraction for her energy. Lola is looking for a patient and loving forever home where she can be her goofy self, and learn that being loved is not something to fear but something she deserves, while giving lots of love in return. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on heart worm preventative. Lola is currently in a foster home in TX and once adopted can be transported to Oregon. It is always nice if you send an inquiry about a specific adoptable guest via email to tell us about you, your family and other pets, your yard, and most importantly, your expectations of your new family member so we can answer your questions appropriately as best as possible. Please, if you email an inquiry, please understand that these animals are in the shelter for a variety of reasons: Their lives are upside down maybe because owner died, they got lost, were abandoned, owner lost home or had a life event that left their pet in need of a new home. We don't always know how they will get along with all dogs, all children. Some won't be a perfect family member right away! They will need love, patience, a strong owner who will let them know what is expected of them and what they can expect from their new family. It may take an afternoon or it may take a week or so! But they need homes and families who will bring them back to knowing what family is! Shelter Phone Number 541 474-5458 Alternate contact: raleigh@savethewhiskers.org General Adoption Fees for Dog: Adult dogs and puppies- $125, Senior dogs 7 and over $50. Please visit the shelter or if need special arrangements for meet and greet please email me. If you have a dog- encourage you to bring also. Staff may be unable to answer calls right away, so you may contact me via email if you cannot get to shelter right away! You are encouraged to make your best effort to go during normal business hours. Note: Often times we are asked 'what about cats'?' Please be advised that we cannot guarantee a dog's behavior with a cat; sometimes the dog is fine with a cat- but cat not so happy about his canine intruder! If we know emphatically that a dog could take issue with a cat, livestock or chickens- will be stated in body of biography! I have been waiting so very long to be free of the boarding kennel. Could you give me a HOME? Love, LUIS PS: Here is what the two-leggeds say about me - 'Looking for a fishing buddy?
