Hershey is an approximately 9-10 month old chocolate lab/hound mix (perhaps Weimareiner)? He was rescued in Oregon by a good samaritan and asked our rescue to assist in finding him suitable placement. He is an active young puppy per his breed and Hershey would love to have a similarly paired active dog to have as a friend. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Simba is a fairly young Lab/Shepherd mix who's start to this world wasn't too nice but you can't tell it by how wonderful and loving this boy is. His previous owner walked him into a certain death situation, knowing his only way out was through a rescue. He was very thin, had a contusion on his side and hair rubbed off to bear skin on his neck. Yet he still wants love and snuggles. He is a little leery of men as he should be since they didn't treat him right, but does warm up after knowing you won't hurt him. He is definitely a ladies man and gets along with most other dogs. There is one at his foster home that they have a mutual dislike for ... (Read More)each other so we will make sure that he gets properly introduced if you have other dogs. He would not do well on a ranch since he thinks chasing goats and probably sheep is fun and that would get him in a lot of trouble. But if you want a fun dog that will love you and your family forever, this is the boy. (Less)

Louie has been waiting nearly his entire life for his forever home to find him. He was surrendered by his family when he was a year old and has been in rescues, shelters or boarding since then. He is now 5 or 6 yrs old. Louie is mellow, well trained and couldn't be more loving. He greets everyone he meets with a smile and a tail wag. So why is this handsome boy still homeless after 5 years? Louie's a big guy and has struggled with being reactive when meeting new dogs. For most people, that is a tough and intimidating behavior to manage. But Louie has been living a trainer at Tug Dogs for the last month, who has helped him learn to make ... (Read More)better choices when he sees other dogs. That doesn't mean he's ready to hang out in the local dog park. His new person will have a few simple rules to follow and will get some guidance from his trainer, but Louie is ready to show some lucky family what a smart boy he is and how hard he is trying to make the right choices. He has been waiting such a long time and has such a huge heart. It will be easiest for Louie to succeed as an only dog, but with a confidant and calm person he could live with another dog. Please share this post and help Louie finally find the home he has been dreaming of. To talk to us about whether this big lug is right for your family, please contact (805) 735-3165 or info@shadowsfund.org. Louie is currently in Sacramento, CA. We are willing to travel anywhere on the west coast to help Louie find his forever home. (Less)

Hi! My name is Cheeze; I'm adorable, affectionate, loyal and smart! As you can see, I'm also very handsome. I'm a 4 year old pit bull lab mix. I'm currently being fostered and looking for my forever family! Because of my loyal nature, I'd really thrive best in a home with one or two adults and a secure yard where we can russle and play fetch! As an added bone, I am a total cuddle bug! My 'pit fall' is I need a little basic training.

LOOK AT THAT COAT! Snoopy is a very sweet, friendly, affectionate, happy boy. He is good with people, and other dogs. Snoopy was treated poorly in the past, someone burned him with chemicals. His skin is almost healed now but he may have some scars that remain on his legs. Regardless he is a wonderful dog with a sweet soul. Plus he is striking looking with his unusual coat.
