Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Diamond and her sisters were dumped in a shelter in Southern California after a backyard breeder decided they were too much trouble to socialize and place. The shelter decided they were too shy to adopt out and placed them on the kill list. We saved them and placed with a foster who has worked on socializing them with humans and some leash manners. They will still need love, patience, and understanding as well as training but their progress in a few weeks has been tremendous. They are ready for their forever homes and they love other dogs. Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

SPOT is an older lab mix that still thinks he is a puppy. Maybe that's because he missed most of his puppy-hood: This older fellow lived his entire life as a junk yard dog, where we are guessing he failed miserably at his job as he is all sweetness and love. He lost his job as guard dog and was heading for the local pound. A fellow his age would likely have been passed over for puppies and younger dogs so we took him in and he is now waiting to find his perfect retirement home. That would be a home where he can curl up on a soft and warm bed, get lots of gentle pets from his people and enjoy many years of a quiet and loving life. He is shy ...     My name is Valarie and I am a 2 year old female Catahoula Leopard mix and i weigh 55 pounds. I would like a family that is active but also enjoys TV time on the couch. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautifully sleek and cuddly, LUCY is a young lab/shepherd mix puppy who is currently with a foster home awaiting her FUREVER home with some lucky family! She has the longer ears and snout of the German Shepherd and the lovely shiny black fur of the lab making her an irresistable combo of beauty and brains! Lucy is a fully-vetted (spayed, shots, preventatives, micro-chipped) approximately 1 year old lab mix. She is currently in foster with San Antonio Pets Alive. She is full of energy and does best with a similar-sized, high-energy friend to play with and lots of things to chew! She gets along well with other friendly dogs. Lucy is good ... (Read More)on leash, crate-trained, and house-trained. She is a beautiful girl and very affectionate. She particularly loves men and will shamelessly ask for belly rubs. She needs an active lifestyle to be happy, and is not a couch potato. The ideal owner will be a homeowner, who owns another dog and is committed to walking or running with Lucy daily. To make her a great dog she should also attend some formal obedience classes. Lucy seems to really like water too. She has been in foster care with children, small to very large dogs, and is good with both. She is not recommended for cats as she will chase them and bugs them more than they like to be bugged! Lucy is a bit hyper for very-young kids, but would do fine with older ones. Please email Street Savvy Dog Rescue at saxandthat@comcast.net for an adoption form! RESCUED IS OUR FAVORITE BREED! (Less)

Hershey is a work in progress. Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

HESTON was found with 3 other pups (approx 3 months old) just up the road from the rescue in Devine. We took them in, got them settled and over time fully vetted. HESTON is active and affectionate, although he can be wary of people until he has decided that they are OK. He is great with the other dogs, growing up amongst a lot of dog has given him fantastic dog socialization skills. We do not have cats in the rescue so we cannot say how he is with cats. He loves to have his ears and belly scratched. HESTON is looking for a family that is active and will take him to different places and let him explore the big wide world. As with all dogs ... (Read More)he will benefit from basic and advanced training with the family which not only sets guidelines and boundaries but lets both dog and human learn each others body language and mannerisms. HESTON has been neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped, he has been on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, and tested NEGATIVE for heart-worm disease and the 3 tick-borne diseases in October 2014. HESTON has an estimated date of birth of 18th December 2013. HESTON is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $170.     We rescued Bentley from a young girl who was not taking proper care of him, We didn't plan on keeping him, we already have another black lab who was also a puppy at the time but we ended up falling in love with him so he stuck around. We were just going to keep him until we found a better home, but the right person never came along. We now need to find him a forever home.. Someone who has time, energy and love to give. He is very energetic and LOVES to swim, hike and play fetch. We have a one year old that he is very good with, and I've never seen him be aggressive. His only flaw for us is how much energy he has and how much time we DONT ... (Read More)have to commit to him. I would love to find someone that could run, hike and do daily activities with him. He is in love with hiking, we let him be leash-free and he never gets out of site and regularly comes up to us to 'Check in'. He is crate trained and will sleep inside his crate without making a peep. Bentley is super trainable and knows all the basic commands. Sit, stay, come, easy, lay down-go to bed and so forth. He is in our fenced back yard while we are not home and has NEVER tried to dig out, run away or even dig a hole so I would really perfer someone who has a yard for him for this reason. He really is an amazing dog, we just don't have the time he needs and as much as it pains me, I know he needs a lot More then we can give him.     BELLE was born on 14th December 2012. Her mother a Pure Bred German Shepherd Dog. Sadly the pups had distemper and 2 of the siblings were lost. All pups received the distemper serum and antibiotics and did well. BELLE however, went on to have neurological symptoms and was rushed to Westheimer Animal Hospital, Bellaire, TX for Spinal Tap Surgery. She can just look a bit goofy with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth - but a very small price to pay for fighting and battling the very deadly DISTEMPER disease. BELLE, is very affectionate, sweet and loving young girl with a very gentle laid back temperament. Of course she loves to play and run around, but generally she is just happy to be close by and when she looks at you she looks directly into your soul. BELLE knows how to use the dog door, and does go outside. I have not kept them in a crate they have had free roam, and come and go as they please. BELLE would love to find a family of her own who won't mind her having no teeth and can love her with all their hearts, she is an absolute SURVIVOR.     We are seeking a family for our beautiful 6 year old male black lab. Must be a home with no other dogs, and lots of room to run. Would be a great addition for the active family that is into recreational activities such as camping, hiking, etc. He knows basic commands, is micro-chipped, neutered, shots up to date, potty-trained, current with Heartgard and Frontline, and healthy. Gus is not trained for hunting and is frightened by gunshots, thunder, etc. We have taken him to All Creatures Animal Hospital since he was 6 weeks old, and they have his complete health history. He loves swimming at the lake, chasing tennis balls, going for rides ... (Read More)and is good walking on a leash. When off leash, he stays with you and does not wonder off, just barks at you to 'keep throwing the ball'. He is a great loveable dog, with the famous black lab personality, BUT he CANNOT be around other dogs. If you have an active lifestyle, don't own a dog at this time and don't plan on having more than one dog, he would be a 'good fit'. (Less)

Lab Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
