Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ms. Khoda is an approximately 4 year old spayed Deep chocolate almost Ebony Lab! Gets along with other dogs; Not sure about cats as would take a calm introduction! She has prey drive- squirrels, skunks, running chickens so any thing in a scurry would not be a good thing. She prefers her poultry with mash potatoes and gravy. She is a family dog who wants to be involved in family activities and I suspect would be a great jogging partner, enjoy camping and fun in the sun, and winter wonders of snow balls, although tennis balls keep a smile on her face! She came from a loving family that believed she needed a more active family and time to ... (Read More)polish this diamond in the rough! She has mostly good manners. One quirk- she steals socks! I and my brother and sister, Larry and Carly, were saved by this wonderful rescue before we were taken to the pound where we would have gotten sick or possibly died. Rescue Me ID: 14-11-19-00651Lyra (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Lyra. I was born in 2011, weigh 44 pounds and I'm a low energy girl. I don't mind other dogs as long as they are calm and low energy too. My breed mix is a bit of a mystery! I do a few super cute things that you have to see and then you might fall in love with me. When my human friends play with me, I always sit down and tap my front paw on the floor like I'm playing the piano. I have never been on a leash in my life, but I like it and walk very nicely on it. I love treats and I'll take those very gently out of your hands. Do you want to try that out really quickly? I also know my sit and crate commands. I'm smart, they tell me! ... (Read More)I will let you rub my belly for as long as you would like. I'm potty-trained, crate-trained and I really enjoy my kennel space. It's all mine and I feel safe there. Here is what Lyra's current foster mom has to say about her: 'This is Lyra's foster mom. Lyra is the most well behaved dog I have ever had. By day 3 she has already earned the right to roam the house free when no one is home. She is totally house-trained and crate-trained. But I never have to use the crate as she is so well- behaved. She does not get on furniture, does not counter surf, does not touch anything that is not hers. She takes her treats gently, eats gently, and drinks gently - no need to wipe her mouth (or the floor) after she drinks. She will do very well either as a single dog, or with another dog that is gentle like her. Every day I see her coming out of her shell more. Her energy requirement is medium to low. She loves her walks but she sleeps most of the time when she is inside the house. And yes the markings on her legs and chin are striking! They are like brush strokes by an artist. And did I mention her eyes? Gosh she can touch your soul with her eyes.' Lyra loves children and all people. She doesn't seem to mind cats either. I'll take a little extra time to get to know and trust my new family, but please know that I want one so badly. I don't need a big house or a big yard, just a little space, a leash for walks, a kennel and LOTS of love. To adopt Lyra, please submit an application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Lyra's adoption fee is $150 if in Houston; $375 if outside of Texas (includes health certificate, travel crate, and airline transportation). Rescue Me ID: 14-11-13-00362BELLE -pwb (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

BELLE, is very affectionate, sweet and loving young girl with a very gentle laid back temperament. Of course she loves to play and run around, but generally she is just happy to be close by and when she looks at you she looks directly into your soul. BELLE knows how to use the dog door, and does go outside. She has not been crated at the rescue, dogs have free roam, and come and go as they please. BELLE was born on 14th December 2012. Her mother a Pure Bred German Shepherd Dog. Sadly the pups had distemper and 2 of the siblings were lost. All pups received the distemper serum and antibiotics and did well. BELLE however, went on to have ... (Read More)neurological symptoms and was rushed to Westheimer Animal Hospital, Bellaire, TX for Spinal Tap Surgery. Thankfully the surgery was 100% success, the distemper was stopped from spreading and because the neurological symptoms were caught almost immediately there are no neurological side effects of distemper symptoms. One downside is that BELLE has lost almost all of her teeth. This does not hinder her in anyway at all and she happily eats with all the other dogs, takes treats and bones too. She can just look a bit goofy with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth - but a very small price to pay for battling and winning the very deadly DISTEMPER disease. BELLE would love to find a family of her own who won't mind her having no teeth and can love her with all their hearts, she is an absolute SURVIVOR. BELLE has heard there are wonderful families in the Pacific Northwest and would love to be home with one of her own for the holidays. We will use Paws Without Borders to transport her 'home'. Her $350 adoption fee includes this. Thank you for looking at our sweet Belle and considering adding her to your family. (Less)

Hi, my name is Sparky (Spartacus) I'm currently in foster care waiting for my forever family, could it be you? My foster Family says that I'm a pretty great dog, I really like to bounce around and act silly (I run so fast I feel like I'm flying), but I'm learning basic commands. I could do all these things at your house too, and I'll be a real good boy for you and your family. I've learned so much in foster care. I already know how to sit and wait to be served my dinner along with the others. I'm a little shy at first, but give me a minute and I'll be your new best friend! 1. I get along great with other dogs and I really like people, ... (Read More)especially the little humans, they're my favorite because they like to play all the time just like me! 2. I'm selective when first meeting friends and like a chance to be properly introduced, you know to see if the magic happens and we'll be BFFs (Best Furry Friends). Addressing age: I'm not a puppy anymore, I've matured. I'm not saying I'm an old dog at 1 year, oh no far from it! I still like to have fun and try new things, I'm just out of that awkward puppy stage; you know that stage where I tear up your house and can't make it to the backyard. Yup, all that is behind me now, it will be all fun, walks and naps for us when you take me home. I can't wait for you to contact my foster family and meet me. I know that we will fall madly in love forever and you will be my dream come true! Can't you just see it%BD'%BD|the two of us running through that mud puddle, oh I mean that field of flowers%BD'%BD|you probably don't want to run through the mud huh? Don't worry we're still meant to be, just you wait and see! (Less)

Hello! My name is Eli and I'm the leader of my pack-smart and fun. I'm often the first in line, the first to come up with a great idea, and the first in the pool. I'm one of 6 pups in my litter that were born into rescue because our pregnant momma was rescued in the Corridor of Cruelty. Thankfully she was rescued so we never had to live a day on the streets. We've been living in a boarding facility until we were able to have all of our puppy shots and were able to be neutered. We are guessed to be Labrador/Shiba Inu mixes and we were born in April, 2014. We look a great deal like our mom, which is where we get our Shiba Inu looks, but we ... (Read More)have some lab qualities too, so we are guessing that was our Dad's breed. Our mom is only 34 pounds, so we are estimated to possibly be between 35-45 pounds once full-grown. We are all very sweet and cuddly and we hope that you like that because we'd love to start snuggling as soon as possible. We are a bit shy at first because we haven't been around too many people other than our rescue friends and the staff at the boarding facility, so you'll have to be a little patient as we warm up. We are all very silly, playful and adore lots of attention, but our innocence and cautious nature is super cute. Our favorite things to do are run through the yard, roll around with each other, and play with all of the toys we've been given. We are very loving and happy puppies and we really enjoy all of our new visitors, both dogs and people. We are still very young and haven't spent any time in a real house, so we need more work and time on our potty training and leash walking, but we are smart, so we will be perfect soon enough. With that said, we need a family that has patience, has the time to teach us, and can remember to keep their important things put away until we learn the rules. My ideal new family should love to play and teach me everything a puppy needs to know, should be active enough to take me places like the park and on your adventures, and affectionate so I grow up knowing how much I am loved. If you are interested in fostering or adopting me, please go to www.corridorrescue.org, click on More Information, and then either the Foster or Adopt options. My adoption fee is $150, which includes my neuter, microchip, all of my puppy shots and a clean bill of health.     We are needing to re home our older black lab, Porter. He is approximately 9 years old and about 85 pounds. He is still a big puppy and needs extra space to run around. He had an injury to his spinal cord 4 years ago leaving him with a limp called fibrocartilage embolism (FCE). He isn't in any pain and he doesn't let it stop him. He is a great dog, well trained. Ever since his injury he has been really anxious and needs free space to run and play and possibly go swimming. She has a sensitive left back hip but otherwise she is in good health. She currently needs her rabies vaccine. The reason she needs a good home is because I recently had a baby and am not able to care for her as she needs. She likes daily walks and attention from her owner.     My name is Kristine, better known as 'the Brindle Beauty'. I am a Labrador/ Plott hound mix, found wandering in the Corridor with my siblings. Currently I am staying at a boarding facility awaiting my forever family. I was very sick when I was rescued. I survived a pretty awful puppy illness called Parvovirus and lots of skin infections, but I'm perfectly healthy and happy now. I can offer so much joy, affection and puppy entertainment to my new family. I had 3 siblings and they have all been adopted, so I'm a little bit bummed that I'm still hanging around, but know that good things come to those that wait. I'm very much a silly puppy and ... (Read More)irresistible to most people. I come with puppy breath, so if you don't want to fall in love'|don't get too close. I am very playful, love to tumble around and run with the other dogs in the kennel. I am happy-go-lucky, adventurous, and affectionate too. I very much want to live in a comfy home with a devoted family that will help me continue my housetraining and my leash skills. I sleep in my crate, so I am trained pretty well with that. I was born in April, 2014, weigh about 33 pounds, and have lots of cute puppy energy. The vet estimates that I'll probably be about 50 pounds as an adult. I'm still working on potty training, getting used to my leash and of course-learning how to listen and stay focused on the rules. If you are interested in fostering or adopting me, please go to www.corridorrescue.org, click on More Information and then pick either the Foster or Adopt options. My adoption fee is $150, which includes my spay, microchip, all of my puppy shots and a clean bill of health. Kristine currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Portland and Seattle because we have volunteers that live in these cities that help coordinate successful out of state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. We have worked out a very cost effective way to transport these lucky dogs to their new families. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Say hello to this awesome guy! Rothgar is looking for a new home. His family has changed and his personality is not fit for a toddler that is now zooming around the house. Rothgar would do best in an adult only home. He has lived with a very mellow Brittany Spaniel mix, and 2 indoor kitties with no problems. He is house trained, leash trained and know all the basic verbal and non verbal commands. Rothgar gets along with other dogs with proper intro. He ignores them while on leash walks. Rothgar loves chew toys, and bones. However he gets gastric upset with WHEAT and SWEET POTATO food and treats. Rothgar would make a great running ... (Read More)partner, or biking partner. He loves to run and can run VERY fast. Possibly a good Frisbee dog, he loves them, but will show his love by eating it if left out and unsupervised. Not destructive otherwise. He will alert to strangers and will make a wonderful companion for the right person or couple. Rothgar is miro-chipped and will be UTD on shots when adopted. This is a courtesy posting for Rothgar's owners, but I have spent some time with him and will participate in the adoption process to ensure the right home for Rothgar. If you have questions about Rothgar or would like to meet him please contact either Kimberly Thompson at CleanSlateRescue@gmail.com or Kevin Stolfo at kstolfo@gmail.com or 541-790-9016 Rothgar has spent quite some time in professional training due to some protective (food and territory) issues that he developed after moving into a much smaller house and yard and the birth of the family baby. They are able to stay in a fmaily memeber's backyard for 2 weeks then we will be forced to take them to a shelter and REALLY dont want to do that. Our other dog is Sirus Animal ID#2345

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-05-00032Luke (male)

Lab    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Abused/Neglected, Fearful/Anxious

Can you help a big, sweet lab who asks for love in the wrong way? Luke is a very sweet boy currently with a family that rescued him but can't keep him. They've had him for a couple months. I was told that Luke's problems come from being confined alone in s small room for much of his life. What I saw was a very big, healthy boy, who was very nervous and desperate for attention. He scared me because he barked at me and seemed fierce, but once I was convinced to pet him, he leaned into my strokes and licked and nuzzled my hand. If I stopped petting him, he'd flip my hsnd up and place his head under it so I'd keep petting him. There are two tiny ... (Read More)and rambubunctious kids where he is staying, and I saw him being 100% gentle and non-reactive with them. The 3 yr old riding his trike kept nearly running over Luke's tail or toes and Luke would calmly adjust himself out of harm's way and not even blink or break eye contact with me. He was gentle and clingy with the other adults, but barked at me again when i stopped petting him and turned to leave, following me to the gate and jumping on it with all his might as soon as I shut it behind me. He was the oddest mix of sweetheart and scary that I've ever met. He gave off what looked like signals of aggression but they seem to be what he learned to do for attention when in his room prison. He also will sit, shake, lie down, and drop the ball on command and is a good ball chaser. I felt like he really wanted to go for a long walk & they said he did escape a lot at first. He needs a home with someone calm and confident and able to spend a lot of time teaching him that he is safe and what a dog is supposed to do because he seems so scared and unsure. The people caring for him don't want to send him to shelter because they fear he & his barking will be misunderstood, which I think is true. I am not the right person for him but I was so touched by his sweetness that I promised to help however I can. (Less)

Cash is a wonderful mature male. He is particular about new introductions to other dogs, and prefers larger breeds. He is great with adults and older kids, due to his size but he is a real people lover. Loves car rides, walks well on a leash, comes when called, knows basic commands and is completely house broken. He has received a B+ on his behavioral assessment, please contact us for a full copy for your review. He is a great dog for an older couple who may not be as active, since he is roughly 9 years old, he is slowing down in his activity level.

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We are seeking a family for our beautiful 6 year old male black lab. Must be a home with no other dogs, and lots of room to run. Would be a great addition for the active family that is into recreational activities such as camping, hiking, etc. He knows basic commands, is micro-chipped, neutered, shots up to date, potty-trained, current with Heartgard and Frontline, and healthy. Gus is not trained for hunting and is frightened by gunshots, thunder, etc. We have taken him to All Creatures Animal Hospital since he was 6 weeks old, and they have his complete health history. He loves swimming at the lake, chasing tennis balls, going for rides ... (Read More)and is good walking on a leash. When off leash, he stays with you and does not wonder off, just barks at you to 'keep throwing the ball'. He is a great loveable dog, with the famous black lab personality, BUT he CANNOT be around other dogs. If you have an active lifestyle, don't own a dog at this time and don't plan on having more than one dog, he would be a 'good fit'. (Less)

She has a moderate prey drive and will chase goats/ deer if they run. She is fearless and confident. We have to find her a new home because she tries to play with my goats and scares them. Current with all his shots. This boy needs lots of love since he literally gave up on life at the shelter. He has been in a boarding kennel waiting and waiting for a forever home that he deserves. PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Oregon
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs.
