Rescue Me ID: 14-10-30-00007Gretel (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Gretel and I'm the only girl left in my litter available for adoption and I'm the most laid-back out of all of these guys. Don't get me wrong, I love a good adventure, but I'm not going to waste my energy on silly boy stuff. I am one of 6 pups in my litter that were born into rescue because our pregnant momma was rescued in the Corridor of Cruelty. Thankfully she was rescued so we never had to live a day on the streets. We've been living in a boarding facility until we were able to have all of our puppy shots and were able to be spayed/neutered. We are guessed to be Labrador/Shiba Inu mixes and we were born in April, 2014. ... (Read More)We look a great deal like our mom, which is where we get our Shiba Inu looks, but have some lab qualities too, so we are guessing that was our Dad's breed. Our mom is only 34 pounds, so we are estimated to possibly be between 35-45 pounds once fully grown. We are all very sweet and cuddly and we hope that you like that because we'd love to start snuggling as soon as possible. We are a bit shy at first because we haven't been around too many people other than our rescue friends and the staff at the boarding facility, so you'll have to be a little patient as we warm up. We are all very silly, playful and adore lots of attention, but our innocence and cautious nature is super cute. Our favorite things to do are run through the yard, roll around with each other, and play with all of the toys we've been given. We are very loving and happy puppies and we really enjoy all of our new visitors, both dogs and people. We are still very young and haven't spent any time in a real house, so we need more work and time on our potty training and leash walking, but we are smart, so we will be perfect soon enough. With that said, we need a family that has patience, has the time to teach us, and can remember to keep their important things put away until we learn the rules. My ideal new family should love to play and teach me everything a puppy needs to know, should be active enough to take me places like the park and on your adventures, and affectionate so I grow up knowing how much I am loved. If you are interested in fostering or adopting me, please go to www.corridorrescue.org, click on More Information and then either the Foster or Adopt options. My adoption fee is $150, which includes my neuter, microchip, all of my puppy shots and a clean bill of health. Out of state adoptions include a transport fee of $225 (airline flight, travel kennel and travel documents included). (Less)

LUKE whilst living at the rescue is house trained in that he goes outside either through the door or the doggy door. LUKE will be spending the next few weeks in a foster home to make sure that he is house trained and to make the transition from the rescue a little easier for him. LUKE is looking for a family that is lots of fun, will take him on lots of adventures, advance on his basic training and to teach him lots of tricks. BLAKE is a smart boy and would be love to have his mind challenged. He would love to be with a family that enjoys water or lets him have his own doggy pool and of course water hose to chase! LUKE has never shown any kind of aggression or negative behavior. Prior to his short foster period, he lived with 70 dogs and eats, sleeps and socializes with them all the time and there has never been any kind of issues. BLAKE has not yet been exposed to cats or any other kind of animals so I do not know how he would behave. I do, however, believe that letting him satisfy his curiosity and teaching him to respect the other animal, he would quickly learn how to behave around them. Lab    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sawyer is a 15 month old pure bred black lab with a wonderful temperament -- he is smart, friendly, great with small kids, active, quiet, does not dig and only barks when startled. Unfortunately, he is a little more energetic than we were expecting and although I take him to the park everyday and throw the ball for him we feel that he would be better suited to a different lifestyle. He would be a perfect duck hunting dog, farm dog, agility dog, or companion for a runner/hiker. We have cared well for Sawyer. He spent 3 weeks as Oakhaven Labradors for obedience training. He is up to date on all his vaccines, he is on flea meds and heart worm ... (Read More)medication. I have a 40 pound bag of food for him, the create he came with and many leashes, collars, and toys. I also have all his medical records since birth, as well as breeding and hip certificates. We we are asking $700 for Sawyer. This will help cover his training, veterinary expenses and our purchase price from the breeder. We would be willing to consider any reasonable offer for him. We want him to go to a good home where people will take care of him and he will be happy! If you would like more information about him, or if you would like to meet him, please let me know. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed

This is Gucci, a beautiful 2 year old Rotti/Lab mix who desperately needs a new home. She is jet black with the underlying red Rotti markings in the traditional locations and in the sun those markings really shine through and she is amazing and beautiful. Gucci's person had a stroke a few months back and he can no longer care for her. She is a very sweet girl, but she does like to initially bark when strangers come to the property, however, when ignored or ask to stop, she almost always will. Gucci loves the water, playing with her ball and being with her people. She is a good girl most of the time but still struggles with getting into the ... (Read More)garbage if left alone too long, etc. Gucci has not been socialized at dog parks yet but gets along well with all dogs and cats who live with her and/or who visit the property she lives on. Gucci would love a forever home with lots of exercise, love and attention. She is decent off leash on her property but needs continued work in this area. She would love a person or couple who wants an amazing companion and who can give her time and attention, space and love. She is a beautiful and sweet girl though definitely a protector of her home and family. She is primarily an indoor dog (though she likes to be outside whenever possible, as well) and she will not be adopted for yard protection, business protection, etc. She has been in a people environment and a loving situation over all. A retired single or couple or a family with time to spend with Gucci would be ideal. Gucci needs to be spayed and have her vaccinations updated. Here is a link to some other pictures of Gucci and of Gucci's daughter so that you can see the Rotti markings better. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.985855361441137.1073741829.320984454594901&type=1&l=0f25b25fee (Less)

Sahara is an 8 month old pit/lab mix. She was rescued from an abusive situation and has had no real work put into her. Because of her abuse she is a little scared of men but she does warm up to men quickly with training and patience.     We are needing to re home our older black lab, Porter. He is approximately 9 years old and about 85 pounds. He is still a big puppy and needs extra space to run around. He had an injury to his spinal cord 4 years ago leaving him with a limp called fibrocartilage embolism (FCE). He isn't in any pain and he doesn't let it stop him. He is a great dog, well trained. Ever since his injury he has been really anxious and needs free space to run and play and possibly go swimming. We don't have the time to spend with him and let him have the great dog life he should have in his golden years. It breaks our hearts to think about having to give him up, ... We would ask a small re homing fee and we would want to see where he is goings to, to make sure he gets placed in a good home. He is great with kids, he is just really clumsy and good with other dogs and cats. He would be a better a match for someone with bigger kids and dogs due to his energy, clumsiness and injury. Please contact me if your interested and think you can provide a great place for him. Thank you! (Less)

She has a sensitive left back hip but otherwise she is in good health. She currently needs her rabies vaccine. The reason she needs a good home is because I recently had a baby and am not able to care for her as she needs. She likes daily walks and attention from her owner. She rearely barks only when someone knocks at the front door. She does not like little white dogs. She si good with kids and cats. She is overall a people pleaser!

My name is Kristine, better known as the Brindle Beauty. I am a Labrador/Plott Hound Mix, found wandering in the Corridor of Cruelty with my siblings. Currently I am staying at a boarding facility waiting another week until I can get spayed and pack my bags for my new home with a great family. I'm also finishing up the last bit of my medications for some bad skin issues that I had while I was a stray. I'm too pretty to have scars, so I take my pills and I'll be perfect in no time. I'm very much a puppy and irresistible to most people. I come with puppy breath, so if you don't want to fall in love-don't get too close. I am very playful, ... (Read More)love to tumble around and run with my siblings. I am happy-go-lucky, adventurous and affectionate too. I very much want to live in a comfy home with a devoted family that will help me continue my house training and my leash skills. I sleep in my crate, so I am trained pretty well with that. I was born in May, 2014, weigh about 24 pounds, have lots of puppy energy, and they estimate that I'll probably be about 50-60 pounds as an adult, but they aren't too sure yet. I'm still working on potty training, getting used to my leash and of course-learning how to follow the rules. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-05-00032Luke (male)

Lab    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Abused/Neglected, Fearful/Anxious

Can you help a big, sweet lab who asks for love in the wrong way? Luke is a very sweet boy currently with a family that rescued him but can't keep him. They've had him for a couple months. I was told that Luke's problems come from being confined alone in s small room for much of his life. What I saw was a very big, healthy boy, who was very nervous and desperate for attention. He scared me because he barked at me and seemed fierce, but once I was convinced to pet him, he leaned into my strokes and licked and nuzzled my hand. If I stopped petting him, he'd flip my hsnd up and place his head under it so I'd keep petting him. There are two tiny ... (Read More)and rambubunctious kids where he is staying, and I saw him being 100% gentle and non-reactive with them. The 3 yr old riding his trike kept nearly running over Luke's tail or toes and Luke would calmly adjust himself out of harm's way and not even blink or break eye contact with me. He was gentle and clingy with the other adults, but barked at me again when i stopped petting him and turned to leave, following me to the gate and jumping on it with all his might as soon as I shut it behind me. He was the oddest mix of sweetheart and scary that I've ever met. He gave off what looked like signals of aggression but they seem to be what he learned to do for attention when in his room prison. He also will sit, shake, lie down, and drop the ball on command and is a good ball chaser. I felt like he really wanted to go for a long walk & they said he did escape a lot at first. He needs a home with someone calm and confident and able to spend a lot of time teaching him that he is safe and what a dog is supposed to do because he seems so scared and unsure. The people caring for him don't want to send him to shelter because they fear he & his barking will be misunderstood, which I think is true. I am not the right person for him but I was so touched by his sweetness that I promised to help however I can. (Less)

He has received a B+ on his behavioral assessment, please contact us for a full copy for your review. He is a great dog for an older couple who may not be as active, since he is roughly 9 years old, he is slowing down in his activity level.

He is curious about cats and will start chasing one, but will come back when called. Kody gets anxious and curious if left alone for too long and should be crated when left alone. He is also very scared of thunder and fireworks. He's a great guard dog and barks at visitors. He would love to be with a human ALL the time if that were possible.     Everyone loves the movie 'Finding Nemo' right? Well, that is what this awesome little guy was named...and everyone will love him too. This handsome and silly boy is looking for his family to make his life complete! Nemo was found wandering and just trying to survive the ugly streets of the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas with his two brothers, Willis and Arnold. They were rescued recently and are now living a life that they could not have imagined before. Regular meals, love and affection, daily play time in the yard and a comfy bed are all things that were new and exciting for these boys. They also have a ton of friends now and ... (Read More)have learned how to socialize with other dogs, people and cats. Nemo is about 2 years old, 45 pounds and has a medium energy level. Nemo loves to go for long walks and play indoors after a nice jog. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is usually the leader of the pack of clowns. He loves people, but can be a bit shy for a moment when meeting new people. He has a moderate energy level, meaning he knows how to run and play, but also enjoys coming inside to just hang out with his people. Nemo is already crate-trained, knows some basic commands such as sit and settle, and is housebroken. Nemo was sadly heartworm positive when he was rescued, but that is a very common problem with the strays in Houston. He has been treated and completed it like the champ that he is. This Nemo is not a clownfish, but we can guarantee that he's fun and silly like a clown. If you are looking for a great dog that will brighten your days, Nemo is a perfect match. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-01-00599Tyler (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Can you imagine being severely wounded and having nowhere to go and nobody to help you? That was what Tyler had to go through as he hid under a tree deep in the brush in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas, to try to protect himself from further harm. It was fate that the Corridor Rescue volunteers spotted him that day while they were out feeding all of the strays. They immediately knew that they were rescuing him from death, but he was scared of their intentions and growled at them as a warning to stay away. He very quickly realized that they were his heroes. They gave him rotisserie chicken to gain his trust and water to hydrate ... (Read More)his weak and crashing body. His injuries were so extensive, but nobody knows what happened to this wonderful boy. It could have been that he was mauled by a much larger animal, hit by a car and left to die or injuries at the hands of heartless people. We will never know, but that is in the past and we are all so proud of our survivor for his journey since that day. Tyler is about 2 years old and currently 52 pounds. When he was found, he was just 41 pounds, so he has gained some much needed weight. Tyler has learned so much in the last several months since his rescue. His foster family adores him and he very much enjoys living life as a pet rather than surviving on his own. He currently lives with 2 cats, an 11 year old human sister and many other dogs that range in age from 8 weeks to 5 years and from 2 pounds to 70 pounds. He interacts beautifully with all of the 2 and 4-legged members of his foster family. Like all dogs, a proper introduction is necessary for Tyler so he feels comfortable when visiting new furry friends. Tyler had extensive surgical repairs and treatments to go through after his rescue. His wounds to his rear leg were too great for it to be saved. He has adjusted very well to living life as a tripod. He runs like a gazelle in his back yard, but he wouldn't make a good running partner since his runs are in short bursts. He walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys his evening strolls around the neighborhood. He doesn't like swimming although he has a pool. Other than his severe leg injury, Tyler had very deep wounds on his back that have left permanent scars and he was also heartworm positive. He has recently finished treatment for the heartworms. Tyler has molded well into his foster family because they have provided him with a loving environment, but also with a routine. He requires exercise, discipline and affection and has thrived in a home setting with these simple things. When he wakes up in the morning, he runs to greet his dog buddies first, then his humans, then he eats and then wants to take a nap in his foster mom's lap. He is a dog that seeks approval from his humans and he is a people pleaser 100% of the time. He loves belly rubs, chasing the ball (but rarely returns with it); his favorite toys are the plush, squeaky ones and he is perfectly content for at least 30 minutes alone after you give him one. He clearly prefers to be with his dog friends and people though. He is a lover, not a loner! A couple of his hobbies include chasing bugs, playing in his yard and often dancing in circles to impress. While he's inside, he seeks your attention throughout the day. His given nickname is 'Bear' because he will paw at you for some attention and love. He is very gentle when he takes treats out of hands and he doesn't have any food, treat or toy aggression at all. He likes to sleep soundly on a bed at night with the other members of his pack. If there are children in the family, over 6 years old would probably work out best for him as he is still learning how to gently paw for attention. He most definitely wants a family that is home more than they are away because he wants nothing more than to spend time with you. He is an all around big goof, easy-going, fun-loving family dog and despite all of the trauma in his life, he has maintained the most appreciative and loving disposition. Are you the lucky first owner of this gentle giant with a heart of gold? Tyler currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Portland because we have amazing volunteers who live here to help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption fee and airline/transportation fee is $375. If you would like to adopt Tyler, please fill out an adoption application at www.corridorrescue.org under the adoption tab. Please contact us at corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com with any questions. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-30-00421Willis (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Many dogs will come up to a new person to sniff them as a greeting...not Willis!! This guy will roll over and lay in your lap to get to know you better. He is the definition of affectionate and happy. He has never met a stranger and everyone that meets him says he's just the best. Willis is about 1.5 years old, 45 pounds and has great medium level energy. Willis was rescued while surviving the streets of the Corridor of Cruelty with his two brothers Nemo and Arnold. They were fortunately all rescued together and are now living in a boarding/training facility to help prepare them for their new families. Willis is the clown of the group ... (Read More)and his brothers are both very reserved. He's so very loving and social that it is almost unbelievable that he spent even a day in that awful place. It certainly didn't affect his outlook on life one bit. Sadly without monthly preventatives, he was heartworm positive upon rescue. He has been treated and will be given a clean bill of health this month. WooHoo!! He enjoys spending every moment with his new human friends. It doesn't matter what activity you are involved in, he will be by your side running, fetching, swimming, sleeping or even sharing some of your unwanted vegetables. We could have named him Shadow and it would have been quite fitting. This young man really does have it all and we are so excited to announce that he is available for adoption because he is going to bring so much joy to a family. Willis is great with other dogs, big or small, and would love to have at least one to play with in his new family, but more would be great. He is a dream with kids and adults. One cannot be perfect in every single category, so he only tolerates cats, but would probably be better without one as his immediate sibling. This guy is the life of the party and has proven to be just a well- rounded, fun, silly and amazing friend. He would be a great addition to any family dynamic, but would be best in an active family with kids that will allow him to tag along for all of their family events. Willis is currently crate-trained, leash-trained, housebroken and is currently working on learning basic commands such as sit, stay and settle. You might want to hurry because this guy WON'T last long with us. Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Stella. When I came into rescue, I was a Mama without her puppies. I was very sad and scared. I went into a foster home and was making progress but when I started stealing the little humans toys and hiding them in my crate, they had to give me be back. Now I live in a very comfortable kennel and I'm happy. But I'm what you would describe as Semi-Feral. I run away when anyone tries to pet me. I am looking for a home that wants a yard or farm dog to hang out. I won't need much, just someone who will talk to me, to feed me, and to let me inside at night. I'm housebroken so you don't have to worry about accidents. In return I will be ... (Read More)a beautiful addition to your family and I might even chase away the pesky deer and geese who get into the garden. Sounds good huh? If you might have a home for her please email fran@k9homefinders.org for an application . An approved Application, a great home with a fenced yard are required..no fee, but a donation excepted and appreciated.. Lab    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We are seeking a family for our beautiful 6 year old male black lab. Must be a home with no other dogs, and lots of room to run. Would be a great addition for the active family that is into recreational activities such as camping, hiking, etc. He knows basic commands, is micro-chipped, neutered, shots up to date, potty-trained, current with Heartgard and Frontline, and healthy. Gus is not trained for hunting and is frightened by gunshots, thunder, etc. We have taken him to All Creatures Animal Hospital since he was 6 weeks old, and they have his complete health history. He loves swimming at the lake, chasing tennis balls, going for rides ... (Read More)and is good walking on a leash. When off leash, he stays with you and does not wonder off, just barks at you to 'keep throwing the ball'. He is a great loveable dog, with the famous black lab personality, BUT he CANNOT be around other dogs. If you have an active lifestyle, don't own a dog at this time and don't plan on having more than one dog, he would be a 'good fit'. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

SHADOW is a miracle walking. He was saved at the 11th hour from a high-kill shelter. SHADOW is a two year old boy. He is a gorgeous black lab-pit mix. He is neutered and has a microchip. Current with all his shots. This boy needs lots of love since he literally gave up on life at the shelter. He has been in a boarding kennel waiting and waiting for a forever home that he deserves. Can you offer that to him? He would be best as an only dog. He is large, about 90 pounds so older kids would be best.

Rescue Me ID: 13-07-17-00364Koda (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Koda needs a new home. He is a 2 1/2 year old Lab/Sharpei/Mastiff mix and weighs about 80 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and micro chipped. Koda doesn't care for other dogs and likes to give chase to other animals. He has been around cats, and while he has never hurt them, I wouldn't trust him alone. He also doesn't seem to like young children, but does well with teenagers and adults. Koda needs a home with an adult who has the time and resources to work with him. He knows some commands, but needs to work on consistency. A fenced back yard is a must, and he needs to be kept on a leash whenever he goes somewhere. Koda loves the ... (Read More)water and will chase the hose if you spray it for him. He is a sweet, loving boy and we love him dearly, but with young children often over he spends far too much time locked in his crate. Koda has been an inside dog and is house broken. There is no rehoming fee, but please only serious inquiries and home must be approved. Call or Text number provided. (Less)

Lab Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Oregon Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. The Labrador Retriever is by far the most popular dog in the U.S. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
