This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Good evening, It is with a heavy heart and tearful eyes that I write this message to you. Tuesday our nearly 2 year old chocolate lab/Chesapeake bay retriever mix Lulu and our 10 year old Beagle daisy were involved in an altercation over dropped table food. Lulu attacked her sister violently doing life threatening damage to her. My mother was babysitting and was unable to separate Lulu from her attack on the beagle. She suffered significant injuries and is still in the animal hospital now fighting for her life. My wife and I feel unsafe continuing to have her in our home, my children were witness and are terrified of her and ... (Read More)traumatized. She has been an amazing dog until this point and would have never expected anything like this to happen. I have spoken with our Vet and he said she may be able to be placed in an one dog family home with the right owner who is able to train her or for her to be evaluated and trained. I want to give Lulu the best opportunity to have a great life and it is just so hard even writing this to you as we speak. Please help. My best, Scott Bessette (Less)

Lab Dogs can make good pets in Rhode Island if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
