Lab    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis,
 Heartworm Positive, Aggressive

Penny is a beautiful yellow lab. We adopted her at ACS just last Sunday. We were trying to find a companion for our 9 1/2 year old chocolate lab since we had to put his brother down last Saturday. He has been howling since. They did not give us the full health report on Penny. We were told she was heart worm negative at the center only to be told by our vet she is positive. We also found out she has a skin disorder when she gets stressed. We also found out she has major arthritis a d at times appears in a lot of pain. We are treating her for eye infection. She has attacked our lab through the fence. Even after throwing a bucket of water on ... (Read More)her she refused to back down. She has a sweet spirit but apparently had a very traumatic life. She is frightened and nervous but loving. I believe she needs to be in a one dog household and deserves a lot of love and attention. She will require medical attention. We are so sorry we can not offer her a forever home with her aggression toward our older lab. Please reach out to help us place sweet Penny! (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jet is a very handsome and very curious boy. He has adjusted to his foster home quickly, including learning how to ride the elevator. He is a really great walker and never pulls on the leash. He likes to be with people and will follow his foster mom all over the apartment just to make sure everything is okay. He sleeps well in his crate as long as he can still see where his foster mom is, as he doesn't like to be alone. However, he doesn't bark when his foster mom leaves for work in the morning. He would rather be able to roam the apartment when he is alone rather than be in his crate. He is still getting used to car rides and sometimes ... Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My name is Fester. I was wandering the streets of a large city, when a wonderful woman found me and brought me home. I was taken into foster care by a rescue and fully vetted. I am a scared of strangers, and growl at them if they look at me in the eye. After about 5 minutes though, I warm up and after an hour, they are my best friend. But because of this, I do not do well at adoption events. I also like to be by myself. I am super energetic and talkative, yup I do talk back, and my talking scares other dogs. I am loud, what can I say. So, I really need to be by myself. My foster daddy takes me for walks but I try and pull his arm ... (Read More)off to go play with the other doggies, or so I think I want to play. Some dogs I get along with, and some, I do not, so to be safe, I stay by myself. I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE kitties though. I like to snuggle with em, and I am super gentle. In fact some rescue kittens use to live with me in my foster home, and I would just nudge them with my nose. I have been raised with two adult kitties too, and free roam when my family is gone. I am potty trained and as long as you do not leave out juicy tasty things for me to eat, I can be trusted in the house. Though I am crate trained. I am a pit bull mix, and considered a bully breed. I need that special adopter to understand this and not put me in situations that may cause trouble. I do not go to dog parks and my walks are carefully monitored for other dogs. My foster daddy does not allow kids to come up to me that I do not know. But at my own home, anyone that spends time with me, can trust me. I would not harm a fly after I know you. I love to give kisses and lick you to death, but only if I know you. Daddy calls it stranger danger. So, if you are looking for a guard dog, and you do not already have a doggy, and you have an enclosed backyard for me to play in, then I am your boy. $200 fully vetted. Spayed/Neutered, shots up to date, rabies current, flea & tick preventative, heart worm preventative, heart worm negative, and Micro-chipped (Less)

Prepare to be love drunk! Rum, Vodka, and Ruso may sound like bad habits, but they're adorable puppies! These 3 were surrendered to Animal Care Services. We're not sure why- maybe the folks thought they had too much, or just didn't want to take care of puppies. Whatever the case, these healthy pups came to SNIPSA and now it's time for them to split up and go to new homes! If you're trying to figure out who Ruso is, he's the pup who's got the big smile on his face! Always happy and tail wagging, he loves everyone he meets and can't wait to meet you! His daily schedule is pretty much wake up, play, play, play, lunch. Then it's nap time and ... (Read More)more play, followed by supper, more play and then tucked in for the night. Ruso is learning his house training, practicing his crate training, and working on his basic manners. Eventually he'll be a medium sized dog, but until then Ruso is content being a pup who can sit in your lap. If you're looking for a happy guy who will make you smile, fill out your application today!     What a handsome boy! Cody was hanging out in front of the library- he'd returned his books, but they still wouldn't let him come in! He couldn't understand it, so he just perched on the steps and waited. One of our staff members met him and knew he would make a great pet for someone, so she took him in and the rest is history! Very submissive to most dogs, really doesn't like white dogs for some reason. We believe she may have been abused because of her extreme reactions to some people/dogs.     Bohannon (Bo) Bohannon is my name but you can call me Bo. I was dumped in a rural area along with 4 puppies. Weird, am I the Daddy Dog or what?? Is it my weekend to keep the pups? I am good with people, good with kids. I do great with dogs. These nice people tried to put a leash on me, but I did not like that, and I chewed it. Also, I had a collar on that was way too tight, almost embedded, so they took that off. I weigh about 50 lbs, clean teeth so maybe 2 years old. Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Callie is the sweetest dog with a shy personality. She is a happy little lady; a border collie/lab mix who needs a family to call her own. She is about 9 months old, spayed, vaccinated , heartworm negative, and current with her flea and heartworm preventative. Callie was found wandering around with a dislocated hip on a southside school campus. She was in danger of being hit again by passing cars. Hip surgery has corrected the dislocated hip and she is mended now. She walks very well on a leash. She loves to play with her toys and anyone who has time to spare. She is curious about cats and loves everyone she meets. Message from Callie: ... (Read More)'Please give me a chance. I need a safe and loving home for ever'|. something that I have never had.     Boss is a mix of many breeds. He is long and lanky like a lab and has a lot of those traits. We also suspect a little bully breed. He is very smart and already knows some commands. He is playful and would make a good walking/running partner. I think he could even be trained to be a service dog. Boss loves all dogs and humans.

Hello Henley! This big beautiful girl was found running around with another Lab buddy of hers in Seguin. She was very skinny and malnourished when she was first picked up off the streets, probably because she was living life on the road for so long. Life has turned around for this girl and we are gonna help her find the home she deserves! Henley is your sweet, typical, happy-go-lucky Lab! She is affectionate beyond measure, loves everyone she meets and just wants to be a 70 lb lap dog. She is kennel trained although she would much rather prefer to have a bed of her own. Henley does very well on a leash, doesn't pull and would make a great ... (Read More)exercise companion - whether you're a runner, swimmer or a hiker; she is always game for anything! She is no stranger to loading up in the car to go for a ride, so much so that she even tried to load up in the postman's truck while he was delivering mail to her fosters house! And being a Lab, of course, she loves the water! If you'd like to give Henley another chance at a happy life, fill out an application today! (Less)

Goldie was a little afraid to come in the house when she first arrived at her foster home, but now thinks life indoors is pretty awesome! Rescue Me ID: 14-10-09-00227Molly (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm Molly and I have been in the CARE program for a long time. So when I got to CARE I was super scared of everything. All I wanted to do was run and play with my doggie friends or be by myself and just come see you humans when I felt like it. But I have good news. I have this terrific foster home and they have taught me some really cool things here. So let's start with all the positives. I am a young 2 year old, female chocolate lab weighing about 50 lbs. I happen to be a really beautiful and incredibly sweet girl. I am potty trained and crate trained. I'm walking on the leash with a harness and actually liking it!! I love other ... (Read More)dogs because I am so happy and playful, plus other dogs around make me feel more comfortable. I would really like a home with another fun, energetic dog, because I wear out my foster sibling. We are not sure about cats or kids because I don't have those in my foster home. My foster Mom takes me on car rides and I am starting to like seeing all the sights. My foster Mommy gives me lots of tummy rubs, which I love, but I am still shy. I am a little scared of new environments and things at first, but settle down. If you like me and want me to be part of your family you have to understand that it takes me a little while to 'settle in', more than one or two days, so you have to be patient to see my true colors. Contact Vickie at vickie@caretx.org or 210-858-8422 if you want to adopt me. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sasha D is a beautiful female black Labrador Retriever/Flat-coated Retriever mix. She first entered our program about a year ago when she was about 5-6 months old and was named Ducky. When she was adopted, her name was changed to Sasha, which learned to know over the past year. Her previous adopters say that she is a sweet, loving dog who is house-trained and had free roam of the house during the day without being destructive in any way. She plays well with other dogs, however, her previous adopters' elderly dog and her had some issues with dominance which resulted in some bad scuffles. They believe she would be fine in a home with another ... (Read More)dog, as long as she is the only dominant furchild in the family. Sasha D is around 18 months old and about 40 lbs.     Sweet Dahlia is a precious black Labrador Retriever mix puppy. She is full of spunk and personality in her petite 20 lb frame. She rough houses with her foster brothers who are around 50 lbs!! She plays well and climbs on them, but knows when to settle down and take a nap. She has a sweet bark, but doesn't use her voice much. She is kennel-trained, and lets me know when she needs to go out by whimpering! She is almost sleeping through the full night. She is now allowed to sleep part of the night in bed with BOTH her foster brothers! She curls up and goes right to bed. She is eating and drinking well, and quickly does her duty outside! She ... (Read More)responds well to NO, and redirection. She's learning how to sit and stay like a good girl. She is full of vitality, so we are teaching her how to stay 'down' and not jump :) She also loves cats! At first she was unsure, and would bark at the cat, but now she sniffs around him, and tries to get him to play with her! Dahlia is an angel, and is going to be a great fit with her furever family. :) NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered.     Emma an her litter mates were found in a field in South Texas running around scrounging for food and shelter. A good samaritan spent 4 hours trying to catch them and carry them to safety. Once under her care, she spent time socializing them and tending to their medical needs. They have all done very well and have made progress in their socialization. Their foster managed to place two of the others on her own and needed help with the remaining two as she was moving. That's where we stepped in! Emma is a sweet, very docile girl. This little spitfire is just as rambunctious as she looks in her picture. As soon as her kennel door opens, she's running laps around the yard. She is great with people and other dogs and would love a yard of her own to run and play in!
