Rescue Me ID: 14-10-30-00008Gretel (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Gretel and I'm the only girl left in my litter available for adoption and I'm the most laid-back out of all of these guys. Don't get me wrong, I love a good adventure, but I'm not going to waste my energy on silly boy stuff. I am one of 6 pups in my litter that were born into rescue because our pregnant momma was rescued in the Corridor of Cruelty. Thankfully she was rescued so we never had to live a day on the streets. We've been living in a boarding facility until we were able to have all of our puppy shots and were able to be spayed/neutered. We are guessed to be Labrador/Shiba Inu mixes and we were born in April, 2014. ... (Read More)We look a great deal like our mom, which is where we get our Shiba Inu looks, but have some lab qualities too, so we are guessing that was our Dad's breed. Our mom is only 34 pounds, so we are estimated to possibly be between 35-45 pounds once fully grown. We are all very sweet and cuddly and we hope that you like that because we'd love to start snuggling as soon as possible. We are a bit shy at first because we haven't been around too many people other than our rescue friends and the staff at the boarding facility, so you'll have to be a little patient as we warm up. We are all very silly, playful and adore lots of attention, but our innocence and cautious nature is super cute. Our favorite things to do are run through the yard, roll around with each other, and play with all of the toys we've been given. We are very loving and happy puppies and we really enjoy all of our new visitors, both dogs and people. We are still very young and haven't spent any time in a real house, so we need more work and time on our potty training and leash walking, but we are smart, so we will be perfect soon enough. With that said, we need a family that has patience, has the time to teach us, and can remember to keep their important things put away until we learn the rules. My ideal new family should love to play and teach me everything a puppy needs to know, should be active enough to take me places like the park and on your adventures, and affectionate so I grow up knowing how much I am loved. If you are interested in fostering or adopting me, please go to www.corridorrescue.org, click on More Information and then either the Foster or Adopt options. My adoption fee is $150, which includes my neuter, microchip, all of my puppy shots and a clean bill of health. Out of state adoptions include a transport fee of $225 (airline flight, travel kennel and travel documents included). (Less)

Molly is a very loving well behaved animal. She listens when called and is protective of her family. I have 4 kids and when the play outside (on 5 acres) she will stay near them and walk the perimeter to keep them safe. We are very sad to have to re home her but a family situation has raised forcing us to move and we are not able to take any of our pets with us. She is used to living on property and has been a purely outdoors dog, other than garage for sleeping and protection from the weather.

49# high energy Lab mix wants play dates! Good morning! We recently moved from a home with a fenced yard (Sammamish) into a condo (Redmond) - long story but our 4 year old pup is high energy and not getting the exercise he deserves, and I spend all day worrying about him while I'm at work. Jackson loves to swim, catch tennis balls, run and play with other dogs (fenced dog parks), and people too! I am a single mom with my son and daughter both in college. Because I have to work full time, our Jackie is left alone inside most days; with only a morning walk, mid-day potty break and light play after work'|not what he's used to, not what we ...     Salutations dog lovers, my name is Theo and I am a year old MiniLab weighing approx 35lbs. I have those soft velvet ears, a black shiny coat and the puppy dog eyes of a Lab but I am just in a smaller package. I am very outdoorsy and love to run and play and get along with other friendly dogs. I am protective of my yard and like to let my family know of intruders but I am very sweet and people friendly after 5 seconds of initial shyness. I am very laid back in the house. Once I walk through and check on everything, I usually lay down and rest unless someone is cooking in the kitchen and then I just sit and watch, waiting to be the clean up ... (Read More)crew if needed for fallen crumbs. I ride well in a car, I am housebroken and crate trained. I am respectful of dog friendly cats. In a nutshell, I am a certified San Antonio special pup with a lot of love and loyalty to give. I was saved from euthanasia due to pet overpopulation in San Antonio by the non profit no kill rescue and I am a lucky guy and can't wait to meet my family. Theo is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, but is ready to fly to the PNW once adopted. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-21-00617Dylan (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dylan is a sweet and mellow 5 year old lab looking for a loving forever home. He is a great dog who just needs a little love and care. He currently has some skin issues which are likely due to a flea or food allergy. A high-quality diet and regular flea treatment should help get him on his way to perfect health. Dylan also suffers from separation anxiety, which means he tends to bark non-stop when he's lonely. He is not the type of dog that can just be left out in the yard or left alone for long periods of time. He also would not make a good apartment dog as the neighbors would surely complain. A retired person or someone who works from home ... (Read More)would be ideal for this boy. Dylan gets along fine with other mellow and easy-going dogs, and could potentially benefit from having the perfect canine housemate. Kids with dog experience should be just fine and he could potentially live with a confident cat. Dylan would make a perfect companion for long walks on the beach, camping and cuddling up on the couch! If you would like to meet this great boy, please fill out an adoption application at the front desk. If you are over the age of 55, ask about our Young At Heart Adoption Special! (Less)

Tori is our old yellow dog. We have had her since she was a puppy and now, 12 years later, divorce means we must sell our house and move to a very small apartment where dogs are not allowed. Tori is desperate for love and affection and accepts it and seeks it from all. She loves children but cannot and will not tolerate being abused by them. She has an infection in her left ear in an ear which has been 'droopy' since we got her. She sheds like crazy. She needs a daily brushing and benefits enormously from professional grooming. Everyone says 'Tori is so sweet. I wish we could take her.' Adoption fee will be given to charity, not kept by me. I will send Tori to live in a good peaceful home.     Meet Jax! He is a sweetheart looking for his loving forever home. Jax absolutely loves to play with tennis balls and knows how to 'drop it' when asked. He'll need lots of exercise daily in addition to ball time to help him work off his nervous energy. Jax can be a little wary of people at first and needs to go to a home that will be patient with him as he builds his confidence. He is a very sweet, playful boy once he gets to know. This will not only help with his behavioral quirks, it will also be a great bonding and socialization opportunity. He has a proven tendency to chase after small animals and will need to go to a home without any cats. Jax also needs to be the only dog in his new home as it takes awhile for him to warm up to them. Face to face introductions with other dogs are intimidating to him so he is never going to be a dog park kind of dog and will require extra diligence when on walks. Jax needs to go to an adult only home that is experienced with dog ownership. Jax may need a little extra work but he will be well worth the effort.     My name is Kristine, better known as the Brindle Beauty. I am a Labrador/Plott Hound Mix, found wandering in the Corridor of Cruelty with my siblings. Currently I am staying at a boarding facility waiting another week until I can get spayed and pack my bags for my new home with a great family. I'm also finishing up the last bit of my medications for some bad skin issues that I had while I was a stray. I'm too pretty to have scars, so I take my pills and I'll be perfect in no time. I'm very much a puppy and irresistible to most people. I come with puppy breath, so if you don't want to fall in love-don't get too close. I am very playful, ... (Read More)love to tumble around and run with my siblings. I am happy-go-lucky, adventurous and affectionate too. I very much want to live in a comfy home with a devoted family that will help me continue my house training and my leash skills. I sleep in my crate, so I am trained pretty well with that. I was born in May, 2014, weigh about 24 pounds, have lots of puppy energy, and they estimate that I'll probably be about 50-60 pounds as an adult, but they aren't too sure yet. I'm still working on potty training, getting used to my leash and of course-learning how to follow the rules. Kristine currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption and transportation fee to the Seattle airport is $375. To adopt Kristine, please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab.     .Michael has been in the shelter since Nov 21, 2013....talking with the kennel cleaner today he said he had Michael on a walk and let him go say hi to the little brown sheep that was in a pen..he did nothing, but the sheep butted the fence and got Michael right in the face, and Michael just looked at him, like what did you do that for? The kennel worker also told me that one time another dog got loose and jumped on Michael, Michael did nothing, did not fight back ..just laid there..I share this information as Michael needs a home..now..please go in and see him if you are interested in adopting or call the shelter. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Everyone loves the movie 'Finding Nemo' right? Well, that is what this awesome little guy was named...and everyone will love him too. This handsome and silly boy is looking for his family to make his life complete! Nemo was found wandering and just trying to survive the ugly streets of the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas with his two brothers, Willis and Arnold. They were rescued recently and are now living a life that they could not have imagined before. Regular meals, love and affection, daily play time in the yard and a comfy bed are all things that were new and exciting for these boys. They also have a ton of friends now and ... (Read More)have learned how to socialize with other dogs, people and cats. Nemo is about 2 years old, 45 pounds and has a medium energy level. Nemo loves to go for long walks and play indoors after a nice jog. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is usually the leader of the pack of clowns. He loves people, but can be a bit shy for a moment when meeting new people. He has a moderate energy level, meaning he knows how to run and play, but also enjoys coming inside to just hang out with his people. Nemo is already crate-trained, knows some basic commands such as sit and settle, and is housebroken. Nemo was sadly heartworm positive when he was rescued, but that is a very common problem with the strays in Houston. He has been treated and completed it like the champ that he is. This Nemo is not a clownfish, but we can guarantee that he's fun and silly like a clown. If you are looking for a great dog that will brighten your days, Nemo is a perfect match. Nemo currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption and transportation fee is $375. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Can you imagine being severely wounded and having nowhere to go and nobody to help you? That was what Tyler had to go through as he hid under a tree deep in the brush in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas, to try to protect himself from further harm. It was fate that the Corridor Rescue volunteers spotted him that day while they were out feeding all of the strays. They immediately knew that they were rescuing him from death, but he was scared of their intentions and growled at them as a warning to stay away. He very quickly realized that they were his heroes. They gave him rotisserie chicken to gain his trust and water to hydrate ... (Read More)his weak and crashing body. His injuries were so extensive, but nobody knows what happened to this wonderful boy. It could have been that he was mauled by a much larger animal, hit by a car and left to die or injuries at the hands of heartless people. We will never know, but that is in the past and we are all so proud of our survivor for his journey since that day. Tyler is about 2 years old and currently 52 pounds. When he was found, he was just 41 pounds, so he has gained some much needed weight. Tyler has learned so much in the last several months since his rescue. His foster family adores him and he very much enjoys living life as a pet rather than surviving on his own. He currently lives with 2 cats, an 11 year old human sister and many other dogs that range in age from 8 weeks to 5 years and from 2 pounds to 70 pounds. He interacts beautifully with all of the 2 and 4-legged members of his foster family. Like all dogs, a proper introduction is necessary for Tyler so he feels comfortable when visiting new furry friends. Tyler had extensive surgical repairs and treatments to go through after his rescue. His wounds to his rear leg were too great for it to be saved. He has adjusted very well to living life as a tripod. He runs like a gazelle in his back yard, but he wouldn't make a good running partner since his runs are in short bursts. He walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys his evening strolls around the neighborhood. He doesn't like swimming although he has a pool. Other than his severe leg injury, Tyler had very deep wounds on his back that have left permanent scars and he was also heartworm positive. He has recently finished treatment for the heartworms. Tyler has molded well into his foster family because they have provided him with a loving environment, but also with a routine. He requires exercise, discipline and affection and has thrived in a home setting with these simple things. When he wakes up in the morning, he runs to greet his dog buddies first, then his humans, then he eats and then wants to take a nap in his foster mom's lap. He is a dog that seeks approval from his humans and he is a people pleaser 100% of the time. He loves belly rubs, chasing the ball (but rarely returns with it); his favorite toys are the plush, squeaky ones and he is perfectly content for at least 30 minutes alone after you give him one. He clearly prefers to be with his dog friends and people though. He is a lover, not a loner! A couple of his hobbies include chasing bugs, playing in his yard and often dancing in circles to impress. While he's inside, he seeks your attention throughout the day. His given nickname is 'Bear' because he will paw at you for some attention and love. He is very gentle when he takes treats out of hands and he doesn't have any food, treat or toy aggression at all. He likes to sleep soundly on a bed at night with the other members of his pack. If there are children in the family, over 6 years old would probably work out best for him as he is still learning how to gently paw for attention. He most definitely wants a family that is home more than they are away because he wants nothing more than to spend time with you. He is an all around big goof, easy-going, fun-loving family dog and despite all of the trauma in his life, he has maintained the most appreciative and loving disposition. Are you the lucky first owner of this gentle giant with a heart of gold? Tyler currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers who live here to help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

We used to live on 5 acres (2.5 fenced), where our dogs had plenty of room to run. Last year, we moved to a lake with barely over 1/2 acre of property (only a small portion is fenced). Until recently, Scooby was content with the limited space, but has finally figured out that he can go out into the lake & wade over to the end of the fence. We can't extend our fence across the lake; therefore, we no longer have a way to contain him. Scooby is my baby, and a loving home is a must! We adopted him when he was 10 weeks old. He was chipped & neutered before bringing him home. We kennel trained him, and he was an indoor dog for the 1st 1-1/2 ... (Read More)years. When we brought home a 2nd puppy, we quickly realized that dogs playing with eachother in the house wasn't our thing, so we moved them both outside. We have a cat who hangs out with both dogs...he rubs his body against their legs & will sometimes curl up next to them to sleep. Scooby is great with kids of all ages, but does tend to get a bit hyper. He'll accidentally hit toddlers with his tail, or turn too quickly & knock them over. We walk with our 23 month old granddaughter when Scooby is near her, just to make sure he's being 'gentle.' When elderly people are walking outside, we kennel him, just in case he gets too hyper & clumsy. He doesn't bite, even when he's upset with people (ie: clipping toenails, shots, being poked & prodded). He does get agitated when random dogs walk near our fence line. His hair stands on end, he whines, and becomes territorial...the vet tells us he's just doing what dogs do...protecting his property. He's been boarded several times at McKenna Kennels & they tell us he's never had any issues when outside with the other dogs. (Less)

Many dogs will come up to a new person to sniff them as a greeting...not Willis!! This guy will roll over and lay in your lap to get to know you better. He is the definition of affectionate and happy. He has never met a stranger and everyone that meets him says he's just the best. Willis is about 1.5 years old, 45 pounds and has great medium level energy. Willis was rescued while surviving the streets of the Corridor of Cruelty with his two brothers Nemo and Arnold. They were fortunately all rescued together and are now living in a boarding/training facility to help prepare them for their new families. Willis is the clown of the group ... (Read More)and his brothers are both very reserved. He's so very loving and social that it is almost unbelievable that he spent even a day in that awful place. It certainly didn't affect his outlook on life one bit. Sadly without monthly preventatives, he was heartworm positive upon rescue. He has been treated and will be given a clean bill of health this month. WooHoo!! He enjoys spending every moment with his new human friends. It doesn't matter what activity you are involved in, he will be by your side running, fetching, swimming, sleeping or even sharing some of your unwanted vegetables. We could have named him Shadow and it would have been quite fitting. This young man really does have it all and we are so excited to announce that he is available for adoption because he is going to bring so much joy to a family. Willis is great with other dogs, big or small, and would love to have at least one to play with in his new family, but more would be great. He is a dream with kids and adults. One cannot be perfect in every single category, so he only tolerates cats, but would probably be better without one as his immediate sibling. This guy is the life of the party and has proven to be just a well- rounded, fun, silly and amazing friend. He would be a great addition to any family dynamic, but would be best in an active family with kids that will allow him to tag along for all of their family events. Willis is currently crate-trained, leash-trained, housebroken and is currently working on learning basic commands such as sit, stay and settle. You might want to hurry because this guy WON'T last long with us.     Hello, my name is Leo. I am 8 yrs young and am lab/german sheep mix. My mom adopted me and my brother Beau when we were only 5-6 weeks old and raised us. I have always had wander lust (so a good fence is a must to keep me safe) and led Beau on many adventures, one of which got me hurt %BD'%BD|. bad! I fell down some big boulders and broke my elbow %BD'%BD| It now is bionic and has never caused me any grief. I can run and play with the best of them. Beau and I always went to Auntie Gretchen's for 2-3 weeks in the summer when mom went on vacation. Auntie has been trying to convince mom for years that even though I am so sweet and ... (Read More)cuddly, I see myself as alpha (at least over Beau and mom)%BD'%BD|. I learned years ago that auntie is alpha in her house and I don't argue the point. Mom recently got a divorce and for months, Beau and I came to auntie's house%BD'%BD| Mom finally found a place and we all moved in. I got very irritated with her and the others when they would go to work so I decided to show em who was boss and I ate the furniture, tore up carpets and door moulding %BD'%BD| mom finally put a camera to see who was doing the damage%BD'%BD|. Beau and Jax would go hide when I got wound up. Mom is renting and finally, tearfully asked auntie Gretchen to try and find me a new home %BD'%BD|. my good traits are: I know sit/down/stay and walk nicely on a leash. I am learning 'wait' here at auntie's house. I love to play fetch and am happy running and playing with other dogs. I HATE being tied up and will bark and whine to show my displeasure. I know to stay off the furniture and I don't get into the garbage. I adore humans and don't care what size they are. I don't guard food or toys and am not a picky eater. I am crate trained and need a nice roomy, strong one. I am completely house broken. I love going for car rides and just generally being with a human. I don't jump on people and I am not a obnoxious licker of humans. I do have a couple of faults%BD'%BD| I will destroy any toy that is filled with stuffing. I have been known to destroy my bedding if it is 'fluffy' (though I am doing way better). I can be with cats but should have some supervision since I do like to see if I can make them run from me. I need a family that will shower me with love and affection and take me in as a long lost family member. (Less)
