Rescue Me ID: 14-09-01-00592Tyler (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Can you imagine being severely wounded and having nowhere to go and nobody to help you? That was what Tyler had to go through as he hid under a tree deep in the brush in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas, to try to protect himself from further harm. It was fate that the Corridor Rescue volunteers spotted him that day while they were out feeding all of the strays. They immediately knew that they were rescuing him from death, but he was scared of their intentions and growled at them as a warning to stay away. He very quickly realized that they were his heroes. They gave him rotisserie chicken to gain his trust and water to hydrate ... (Read More)his weak and crashing body. His injuries were so extensive, but nobody knows what happened to this wonderful boy. It could have been that he was mauled by a much larger animal, hit by a car and left to die or injuries at the hands of heartless people. We will never know, but that is in the past and we are all so proud of our survivor for his journey since that day. Tyler is about 2 years old and currently 52 pounds. When he was found, he was just 41 pounds, so he has gained some much needed weight. Tyler has learned so much in the last several months since his rescue. His foster family adores him and he very much enjoys living life as a pet rather than surviving on his own. He currently lives with 2 cats, an 11 year old human sister and many other dogs that range in age from 8 weeks to 5 years and from 2 pounds to 70 pounds. He interacts beautifully with all of the 2 and 4-legged members of his foster family. Like all dogs, a proper introduction is necessary for Tyler so he feels comfortable when visiting new furry friends. Tyler had extensive surgical repairs and treatments to go through after his rescue. His wounds to his rear leg were too great for it to be saved. He has adjusted very well to living life as a tripod. He runs like a gazelle in his back yard, but he wouldn't make a good running partner since his runs are in short bursts. He walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys his evening strolls around the neighborhood. He doesn't like swimming although he has a pool. Other than his severe leg injury, Tyler had very deep wounds on his back that have left permanent scars and he was also heartworm positive. He has recently finished treatment for the heartworms. Tyler has molded well into his foster family because they have provided him with a loving environment, but also with a routine. He requires exercise, discipline and affection and has thrived in a home setting with these simple things. When he wakes up in the morning, he runs to greet his dog buddies first, then his humans, then he eats and then wants to take a nap in his foster mom's lap. He is a dog that seeks approval from his humans and he is a people pleaser 100% of the time. He loves belly rubs, chasing the ball (but rarely returns with it); his favorite toys are the plush, squeaky ones and he is perfectly content for at least 30 minutes alone after you give him one. He clearly prefers to be with his dog friends and people though. He is a lover, not a loner! A couple of his hobbies include chasing bugs, playing in his yard and often dancing in circles to impress. While he's inside, he seeks your attention throughout the day. His given nickname is 'Bear' because he will paw at you for some attention and love. He is very gentle when he takes treats out of hands and he doesn't have any food, treat or toy aggression at all. He likes to sleep soundly on a bed at night with the other members of his pack. If there are children in the family, over 6 years old would probably work out best for him as he is still learning how to gently paw for attention. He most definitely wants a family that is home more than they are away because he wants nothing more than to spend time with you. He is an all around big goof, easy-going, fun-loving family dog and despite all of the trauma in his life, he has maintained the most appreciative and loving disposition. Are you the lucky first owner of this gentle giant with a heart of gold? Tyler currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers who live here to help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption fee and airline/transportation fee is $375. If you would like to adopt Tyler, please fill out an adoption application at www.corridorrescue.org under the adoption tab. Please contact us at corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com with any questions. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-31-00546Scooby (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We used to live on 5 acres (2.5 fenced), where our dogs had plenty of room to run. Last year, we moved to a lake with barely over 1/2 acre of property (only a small portion is fenced). Until recently, Scooby was content with the limited space, but has finally figured out that he can go out into the lake & wade over to the end of the fence. We can't extend our fence across the lake; therefore, we no longer have a way to contain him. Scooby is my baby, and a loving home is a must! We adopted him when he was 10 weeks old. He was chipped & neutered before bringing him home. We kennel trained him, and he was an indoor dog for the 1st 1-1/2 ... (Read More)years. When we brought home a 2nd puppy, we quickly realized that dogs playing with eachother in the house wasn't our thing, so we moved them both outside. We have a cat who hangs out with both dogs...he rubs his body against their legs & will sometimes curl up next to them to sleep. Scooby is great with kids of all ages, but does tend to get a bit hyper. He'll accidentally hit toddlers with his tail, or turn too quickly & knock them over. We walk with our 23 month old granddaughter when Scooby is near her, just to make sure he's being 'gentle.' When elderly people are walking outside, we kennel him, just in case he gets too hyper & clumsy. He doesn't bite, even when he's upset with people (ie: clipping toenails, shots, being poked & prodded). He does get agitated when random dogs walk near our fence line. His hair stands on end, he whines, and becomes territorial...the vet tells us he's just doing what dogs do...protecting his property. He's been boarded several times at McKenna Kennels & they tell us he's never had any issues when outside with the other dogs. (Less)

Who doesn't want a little dark chocolate???? And it ism even good for your heart :) Autumn is a 6mo Lab Max that we rescued from certain death at a high kill TX shelter. She has a broken hind leg and was scheduled to be euthanized that day. After 6 weeks of treatment and casting, the cast is off ad she is raring to go! She is still on some exercise restriction, but is healthy, spayed and up to date on her shots and ready for her new home. Autumn LOVES other dogs, people of all shapes and sizes and is ready for a loving home with all the attention she craves. She is crate trained and house trained (though that will always need some ... Rescue Me ID: 14-08-30-00416Willis (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Many dogs will come up to a new person to sniff them as a greeting...not Willis!! This guy will roll over and lay in your lap to get to know you better. He is the definition of affectionate and happy. He has never met a stranger and everyone that meets him says he's just the best. Willis is about 1.5 years old, 45 pounds and has great medium level energy. Willis was rescued while surviving the streets of the Corridor of Cruelty with his two brothers Nemo and Arnold. They were fortunately all rescued together and are now living in a boarding/training facility to help prepare them for their new families. Willis is the clown of the group ... (Read More)and his brothers are both very reserved. He's so very loving and social that it is almost unbelievable that he spent even a day in that awful place. It certainly didn't affect his outlook on life one bit. Sadly without monthly preventatives, he was heartworm positive upon rescue. He has been treated and will be given a clean bill of health this month. WooHoo!! He enjoys spending every moment with his new human friends. It doesn't matter what activity you are involved in, he will be by your side running, fetching, swimming, sleeping or even sharing some of your unwanted vegetables. We could have named him Shadow and it would have been quite fitting. This young man really does have it all and we are so excited to announce that he is available for adoption because he is going to bring so much joy to a family. Willis is great with other dogs, big or small, and would love to have at least one to play with in his new family, but more would be great. He is a dream with kids and adults. One cannot be perfect in every single category, so he only tolerates cats, but would probably be better without one as his immediate sibling. This guy is the life of the party and has proven to be just a well- rounded, fun, silly and amazing friend. He would be a great addition to any family dynamic, but would be best in an active family with kids that will allow him to tag along for all of their family events. Willis is currently crate-trained, leash-trained, housebroken and is currently working on learning basic commands such as sit, stay and settle. You might want to hurry because this guy WON'T last long with us. Willis currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers who live here that help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Arnold! This striking pup is just now learning all the wonderful things that come with living indoors and leaving behind life on the streets! Arnold was found wandering the roads of the Corridor with his brothers, Willis and Nemo, when our volunteers rescued this handsome trio. He has such a unique coat and people comment on this constantly. Arnold is about 1.5 years old, 40 pounds and has a medium energy level. He is currently boarding with our friends out at K&M Canines where he is learning how to socialize with people, other dogs, kitties and horses! It is clear that he was not loved upon and socialized properly to this world ... (Read More)because he is quite shy. We know that he warms up to people, but it just takes him a little while to trust and understand that people can be good. He has already made great progress. So far, Arnold has learned that he LOVES tasty treats and he will do just about anything for one. He loves being in the company of other dogs and will need to have a doggy sibling in his new family because he is more of a follower and enjoys a confident companion. His new buddy will be able to help him adjust to his new environment once he is part of a new family. Arnold LOVES to play and he will leap across the yard after a toy. He really enjoys playing with the bouncy balls and he will dance around with one after he has caught it. He is a friendly boy despite his personality being hesitant to meeting new people. We always introduce him to newbies slowly along with his favorite treats and that does the trick every time. Arnold is already crate-trained and housebroken, but he is still learning the ropes of being an indoor dog, so we are working on training him to know which items are toys and which are not. He is still learning his sit, stay, settle commands but with the help of a patient new owner and treats for motivation, it won't be long before Arnold is the perfect gentleman. This fella is already neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and just recently finished up treatment for heartworms. Other than being a shy guy, he is more than ready to get into his home, get comfortable and bring on the love. Arnold currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers who live here that help coordinate successful out-of-area adoptions. She has had a rough start... with both her brother and her coming down with Parvo...she lived through it. She actually did quite well with very little medical intervention which shows she is a strong dog. She did develop Demodex mange which she is over. The mange was a product of her going through Parvo and her immune system being lowered. She has been playing with the other dogs for a month now and doing great! Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This little boy & his 2 brothers was found on the side of the freeway in a box & taken to ACS - a high kill shelter. We rushed over & picked them up right away. They were so tiny and needy and so stinking cute!!! Well, with some love and good food, they grew very well . They played with their foster brothers and sisters and developing their personalities. They bounce around like little bunnies. There were 3 Chipmunks and now only Alvin is left. Alvin is 5 months old now and I've had him since he was 5 weeks old. Alvin would make a great 1st pet for any kid or family but he really loves having a doggy companion to play with. He ... (Read More)doesn't play rough, he just likes playing with toys, the keep-away game. And he likes to snuggle with his buddy as you can see in the pictures below. That is his foster brother Titan who is also available for adoption. He is active, adventurous and independent but loves to play. He is the leader, even if he doesn't go too far, like to the next room!!! When they go outside to potty, he takes off as if he is running for the ice cream truck; Alvin is a funny little boy. Alvin would do best in a home with a doggy playmate as he gets lonely and bored being the only dog. His favorite foster brother Titan is also available for adoption. While they are in our homes, we socialize them and train them as much as possible before adoption. We crate, house and potty train them. And then we work on commands. TITAN His name says it all, Titan. I am a 6 month old Labrador /Shar Pei / Terrier mix and I am just a happy, happy puppy! He runs the puppy pack but also on the sensitive side. He craves attention and can play rough with the bigger dogs for such a small puppy! As you can see by the pictures, I am a snuggly kind of guy and I play and sleep with my foster brother Alvin who is also available for adoption. I am house, potty and crate trained. I get along great with all the dogs. My foster mom has a easy time training me because I'm so smart!!! I love my toys and I love to play. If you rub my belly I smile....my ears might eventually stand up...we are not sure. I'm such a calm, cook guy that I really do not do well in a loud, excitement environment and I would love to have a doggy playmate as a companion. My foster brother in the picture ALVIN is also available for adoption. Don't worry, just because I have a buddy, I will still give you lots of love :) My foster mommy loves me and knows you will love me too!!!!     This little boy & his 2 brothers was found on the side of the freeway in a box & taken to ACS - a high kill shelter in San Antonio, TX. He is the leader, even if he doesn't go too far, like to the next room!!! When they go outside to potty, he takes off as if he is running for the ice cream truck; Alvin is a funny little boy.     What a stunner our boy Watson is!! He is a 5month old German Shep X that has had some basic training, is mostly house trained, crate trained and gets along well with adults and older kids. His energy level and size does not make him a good fit for children under 10. Watson loves a good game of fetch or tug, and is a very loving boy. While he is quite energetic in his play, he is also surprisingly mellow a good amount of time. German Shep mixes are highly intelligent loyal dogs, and Watson is no exception! She is an avid swimmer. gets along well with other dogs of all sizes (as long as properly introduced) and does well at the local dog parks that abound around Seattle :) She can be shy at first, and may find young children a little too overwhelming. He's very polite and does not jump up, nor does he 'throw his weight around' like most 1yr old pups would do. Rocco will be a great addition to a family with children over 10yrs old. She hase been around children 9,6 and 1 as well as three cats. We have her on 5 fence acres and is our family guard dog. Baylee does very well at protecting us and our home. (Read More)dogs that walk by are another issue. She is guarding her property. But easily stops once I say, 'that's enough' and 'get into your house' (their doghouse is on the front porch) and they file it into their house. She is a great dog but as I mentioned I have three children and I caught her growling at my 6 year old when he was playing with her and I thought that was something to watch maybe he did something, but then it happened again when he was trying to play with her. She has never done this in the past but I cannot take any chances with our children, nor would I want to have to put her down for biting them. It is just not the best scenario for her in our home, and this saddens us and our children. She must go to a good home without kids that will appreciate the great dog she is. (Less)

Hello. This dog is probably one of the sweetest animals I've ever owned and is amazing with people. He loves to play but can become distracted pretty easily and try to get a squirrel or something like that. He will follow you around the house and sit and cuddle. He is a great comfort animal and just a good friend in general. We just can't afford animals anymore with the cost of living. No rehoming fee necessary as long as he goes to a good loving home who can give him the love he needs and vet trips and whatnot. He comes from a non smoking home with kids all around. Thanks for your time. Call 425-582-2104 or text 660-605-0529.

Her name is Putty and she is a black shepherd mix dog, about 4 yrs old, fully vetted, house trained, dominant dog (not great with smaller dogs) so would be best as an only dog or with other dogs her size. We think best in a home with children ages 6 and older. gingerdog@live.com 2 references please not relatives http://godsdogsrescue.weebly.com/adoption-information.html Our dogs mostly come up pre adopted, but the most we ask if it doesn't work out (people just love their dogs and you do speak to the person who is currently ...     What an adorable girl!! Piper is approx 18mo old, weighs about 35lbs, and she's very sweet... although can be quite shy when first meeting new people. She's a very active girl that loves to go on walks and hikes, and is learning that car rides can also fun and non-stressful. She absolutely loves to play with other dogs so another dog in the home is a must. Piper will do best in a moderately active, adult only home... or kids must be over 12yrs old. She must have a fenced backyard and although she can be trusted home alone for a reasonable amount of hours, a home in which she is not left for more than 6hrs would be ideal. Although ... Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Hello, my name is Leo. I am 8 yrs young and am lab/german sheep mix. My mom adopted me and my brother Beau when we were only 5-6 weeks old and raised us. I have always had wander lust (so a good fence is a must to keep me safe) and led Beau on many adventures, one of which got me hurt %BD'%BD|. bad! I fell down some big boulders and broke my elbow %BD'%BD| It now is bionic and has never caused me any grief. I can run and play with the best of them. Beau and I always went to Auntie Gretchen's for 2-3 weeks in the summer when mom went on vacation. Auntie has been trying to convince mom for years that even though I am so sweet and ... (Read More)cuddly, I see myself as alpha (at least over Beau and mom)%BD'%BD|. I learned years ago that auntie is alpha in her house and I don't argue the point. Mom recently got a divorce and for months, Beau and I came to auntie's house%BD'%BD| Mom finally found a place and we all moved in. I got very irritated with her and the others when they would go to work so I decided to show em who was boss and I ate the furniture, tore up carpets and door moulding %BD'%BD| mom finally put a camera to see who was doing the damage%BD'%BD|. Beau and Jax would go hide when I got wound up. Mom is renting and finally, tearfully asked auntie Gretchen to try and find me a new home %BD'%BD|. my good traits are: I know sit/down/stay and walk nicely on a leash. I am learning 'wait' here at auntie's house. I love to play fetch and am happy running and playing with other dogs. I HATE being tied up and will bark and whine to show my displeasure. I know to stay off the furniture and I don't get into the garbage. I adore humans and don't care what size they are. I don't guard food or toys and am not a picky eater. I am crate trained and need a nice roomy, strong one. I am completely house broken. I love going for car rides and just generally being with a human. I don't jump on people and I am not a obnoxious licker of humans. I do have a couple of faults%BD'%BD| I will destroy any toy that is filled with stuffing. I have been known to destroy my bedding if it is 'fluffy' (though I am doing way better). I can be with cats but should have some supervision since I do like to see if I can make them run from me. I need a family that will shower me with love and affection and take me in as a long lost family member. (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Baby Girl was the beloved pet of an elderly couple, who simply took in too many needy dogs, and found themselves unable to properly care for the pack. Baby Girl is a 9 year old mixed breed, weighs about 40 pounds, loves getting hugs and snuggles. She gets along with most dogs. She has a medical condition (hip dysplasia) that restricts her activity somewhat. She still loves going for walks and keeps a close eye on the marauding squirrels that attempt to enter the yard :) Baby Girl is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and microchipped.

SHADOW is a miracle walking. He was saved at the 11th hour from a high-kill shelter. SHADOW is a two year old boy. He is a gorgeous black lab-pit mix. He is neutered and has a microchip. Current with all his shots. This boy needs lots of love since he literally gave up on life at the shelter. He has been in a boarding kennel waiting and waiting for a forever home that he deserves. Can you offer that to him? He would be best as an only dog. He is large, about 90 pounds so older kids would be best.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Washington
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. The Labrador Retriever is by far the most popular dog in the U.S. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs.
