ADOPTION FEE: $225 ABOUT ME: I am one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. I am great with kids, dogs and even cats. I will say that if I live with a cat though, I would really like a dog around to play with or I might pester the cat too much for play time. I am house broken, love to play fetch and crate trained. I am a great dog and have been well socialized since the day I was born and would ... (Read More)love to have a family that can take me on hikes and to the park and make me a part of the pack during family time. MY NEEDS: Aneela would love a home with other young dogs to play with and if she is going to be left along for ever hours we strongly recommend a particular type of heavy duty crate/. she is very good at escaping most crates and will be siting on the couch or getting into mischief when you get home if she is in the standard wire type kennel. If you think you might have the right home for me, please visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org and fill out an adoption application. Once our adoption coordinator receives and approves your application (which includes an in-person home check), they will contact you to set up an appointment to meet me or any of the other dogs in the rescue. Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

PLEASE HELP this very bonded, beautiful pair. After 6yrs of living with one family, it was decided that the family no longer wanted animals so these wonderfully tempered, gentle and friendly dogs were discarded into a very high kill shelter. We were able to save these two, with just a few hours to spare. They will arrive soon but have no place to go. We are desperately seeking a foster home so they can relax and feel safe until we find them their forever home. They weigh between 55-60lbs, although they're quite long-legged. Of course, they are also available for adoption.

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Fergie, a two year old Chocolate Lab and Kelpie mix! Fergie is healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated, and comes to you crate and housetrained, as well as knowing basic commands. She is a very sweet affectionate girl who loves to be near her person and is quite the cuddler. She will play with toys and enjoys a game of fetch but does not have the relentless ball drive of a pure lab ;) She is extremely intelligent and wants to please, but is high energy, so may overwhelm small children. She will chase cats, so no homes with kitties please. Fergie would do great in an active family and would love to be your hiking or jogging pal. Her foster ... Lab    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Mia is a very energetic 9 year old black lab. She is very sweet but not great at chilling out. She is good with kids in that she is nice to them and not aggressive but she is very excitable and may knock them down without malice. She is very special and if she was my daughter I would describe her as autistic. She needs strong leadership and LOTS of attention. We will donate $50 to this organization if you adopt Mia. She is very sweet, we just are not the right fit.

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Hi! My name is Big Duke and I am a big, loveable Mastiff mix. I am definitely a rescue favorite! I love all people, especially children, and I get along great with every animal I have ever met, even cats and chickens! I had a family of my own, however, I recently found myself back in rescue because my family was not able to address some of my medical needs. I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. The best home for me would have limited stairs because my knees bother me. For now, I do just fine with a little medication and limited exercise. Other than that, all I need right now is a family to see past my medical issues ... (Read More)and love me for me. Everyone tells me the perfect family is out there somewhere̢'|.could it be with you? My adoption fee is $275. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs that require longer stays in the rescue, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes.     63lb 6yo Spayed Female. Husky/Lab/Shar-Pei mix, NO PIT. Very sweet once she knows you, barky until she does. Great alert dog if you're concerned about strangers around your home. She has never nipped or bitten at anyone though - all bark no bite. She's okay around kids but since she's barky that can scare some smaller children. Best if there are children that they live in the home with her. We're re-homing her because she has some separation anxiety issues that we can't kick. Would do best with someone who likes to be active outdoors - on her gentle leader - and wants a steady, sweet dog who can keep up. She lives with 2 cats and gets along ... Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered

I have a bonded pair of pups that due to financial and health reasons I can no longer care for my babies. They are Darger (male) and ChuChu (female collie mix spayed). They are very sweet and loving dogs, however Darger, as he has gotten older, has no tolerance for dogs other than his sister. He is basically a giant lap dog at 106lbs, gives great hugs and loves to sleep with me. Chu is also very sweet and loving but mostly on her terms. She is very intuitive and knows when I am sick. I would love to keep them together and give to someone who has the time, patience and a huge heart. I will not let them go to just anyone tho, as they ...     Ranger is a loving snuggly young adult dog that needs more love and attention than his current family can give him. He needs to go to a home with a fully fenced yard and parents that will play fetch and walk him. He's amazing around children and adults and thinks he's a 60lb lap dog. Snickers (on the right) is very loyal and also loves attention but unfortunately we don't give them enough and they need a good home with a loving family and maybe a big yard to run around in. Snickers is a German Shepard/ Chow and T is a Black Lab/ Chow. They are brother and sister and have grown up together, but if need be they can be separated. They also do take some warming up to do with new people because they are really protective, but they will love you! They really just need a good home and soon!

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-09-00326Sweet Pea (female)

Lab    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Pea is a beautiful Yellow Lab and a handful. Everyone loves her because she's so big...83#s!!! She has lots of energy and needs a large yard, kids, hikes, runs, etc and she should shed a few pounds quickly. She is about 8-10#s over weight at the moment. She is about 3-4 yrs old, spayed, vaccinated, heart worm tested NEG. She will chase cats and gets along with most other dogs. If you have another dog that is dominant, she may disagree and put that dog in it's place. I have had her in with several dogs and as long as they know she's the boss, everything is fine. Because she is so big, I have not had her loose in my house. It ... (Read More)has been obvious that she has been pampered and didn't know what it meant to respond to a voice command when I got her...she does now. She definitely will need some training but she is a wonderful, sweet dog and, other than her size, will be great for kids. She was found on the street by an elderly couple that kept her for several days and asked all around to try to find the owner. No one came forward so they turned her over to my vet (much better than going to the dog pound). She was microchipped. So we called the company and reported her found...3 weeks ago. No one had notified them that she was missing and the phone #s registered with the chip number were bad. The MC company only requires a 1 wk wait before they transfer the chip. It has been 3 weeks...she's mine now. Adoption fee: $395. (includes all medical, microchipping, health certificate to travel, and all traveling expenses). If you want more information and/or an application, please text me (210-394-6060) with your e-mail and I will send the info and more pictures. Filling out an application does not commit you to the adoption. It's just a mechanism for us to pre-approve so that you are welcome to adopt any of our dogs. Sweet Pea must be pre-adopted to ship her to the PNW because we do not have enough available fosters in the area to take on such a large dog. We do give a 5-day return policy to get your money back.     [Read About Natural Incontinence Care] These 2 sisters are needing a good home. They are pretty mello and love to lie at your feet. We travel too much and can't afford to board them anymore. They have spent their whole lives together and we would love them to stay together if possible. They are 5 years old. We have tried shelters, but they won't take them because they fight with other dogs :( We are running out of options and would love someone to give them a chance. Rescue Me ID: 15-05-29-00495Rocky (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered

Rocky, is a black chow mix, 8-10 months old; Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and is Heart Worm NEG!! We don't think he's ever been someone's pet but he has responded EXTREMELY well to human attention in the 6 weeks that we've had him. He was initially understandably fearful but has made great strides in accepting the unknown...like walking on a leash, being petted, being around other dogs, going up steps (if dogs are not raised around stairs, many times they need to be how to climb them), riding in the car (going to the vet, uck), many strangers at the vet, and then having an 8-yr-old boy walk him, play with him and hug on him. You ... (Read More)could see that each one of these challenges was new and strange to him, but he progressed through them with amazing improvement at each step. Now, he looks forward to attention and really wants to play. He is great with this young boy who came over and met him for the first time when we took the photos. Rocky is learning the lead-and-follow idea although he still would rather walk behind you. Because he is very inexperienced, we can't say for sure how he would be with younger children. He might likely be great, but we don't know with certainty. He is so beautiful and wants to be loved. As for barking...he's a dog. He barks at strange things...like when a pig walked by (LOL)... but will respond to voice commands to be quiet and is quite content being left alone. Adoption fee: $350 (includes all medication - neutering, 3 vaccinations (DHPP), rabies vax, Heart Worm tested negative & on prevention, health certificate for traveling, flea/tick prevention (Nexgard), and all travel costs which brought him to Washington. Please email gingerdog@live.com for an application. You can call us after two days if you sent back your application and have not heard from us yet at 360-480-9531. He is currently in SA Texas waiting for his forever home. We hope you can pre adopt him, which just means if you wont adore him as his forever home you simply foster him and we will likely be able to quickly rehome him once he is in the NW and you lose nothing but gain saving his life. Your adoption fee will be refunded when he is rehomed. We have always had great success with this, feel free to call us with any questions or concerns. He can arrive approx june 20th which is next transport to the NW! You can pick him up at your choice of locations, there are two stops in Oregon and three in Washington. thank you (Less)

Both had distemper when they were 6 mo old. Trevor recovered great but Aurora has a back foot that tremors a little so she doesn't use it as much but she starting to build it up more & gets around just fine. Their sister didn't make it & with all they've been through, has made them more attached to the other. It's sad to see them kenneled with all they have been through and we would so love to find them a home together. They are very sweet, loving and want people to ... Lab Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Nala and I am looking for a home of my own. You see, I once had a family and home to call my own, until a thing called foreclosure happened, and my family couldn't take me with them. So here I am. I am currently safe in the rescue, which is nice and comfortable, but I sure would prefer a home and a family to call my own. Valhalla Rescue is going to help me find my forever home. Don't let my age fool you. I LOVE to run around and play Frisbee. If you are active and you can keep up with me, we just might be a great match. I would love someone to run with and tire me out. I must admit I like running the show. I am a little bit ... (Read More)bossy, but I really love to please humans so if you are willing to help socialize me and help me understand I don't always need to be the Alpha, you might be the person for me. I tend to be pushy and selective with other dogs, and I do not like pitbulls for some reason. I am not good with cats either, I just want to chase and bite them. As far as those small humans go, I would be best with kids age 10 and older, only because I tend to jump up when I'm excited and might knock them over. I am housetrained, and learning that being in a crate sometimes is not so bad. I am spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on all my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $150. If you think you might have the right home for me, please visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org/ourdogs/adoptable and fill out an adoption application. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs that require longer stays in the shelter, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes. Lab    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Gunner and I am a handsome purebred Labrador Retriever looking for a place to call home. Could that home be with you? My brother and I were surrendered to Valhalla Rescue due to our ongoing medical issue, which is known as megaesophagus. This is a condition in which the muscles of the esophagus are not able to propel food into the stomach. This causes food to sit in the esophagus, unable to continue into the stomach to be digested. While there is currently no cure for megaesophagus, most dogs with this issue are able to live full, active, healthy and happy lives, they just need some extra help from their owners. I am getting ... (Read More)used to eating my meals in my special chair, and have no problem hanging out in it until my food has settled. I will be neutered before I go to my forever home, I am micro-chipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $300. My adoption fee includes the special chair I eat all my meals in. This chair is called a 'Bailey' chair. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs who require longer stays in the shelter, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes. If you want to meet me, visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org - and fill out an adoption application. Once our adoption coordinator receives and approves your application (which includes an in-person home check), they will contact you to set up an appointment to meet me or any of the other dogs in the rescue. Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I am already spayed, house-trained, in need of an experienced dog owner, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs and not good with cats. Tera's Story... Tera is a sweet puggle/lab mix. She's a little ver a year old old and weighs about 40-45lbs. It was clear when we got her that she had not been socialized well as a puppy. Tara can only be with very mellow, neutral dogs, but no other dogs in the home is best. No dog park for this girl.

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Alexander is a wonderful, 18mo old, 60lb boy that is so ready for his own home! He is very athletic and loves to run so will thrive with a jogger or runner. He's still a young boy so he needs more training, but he's wonderful with people and he loves to play with other like size dogs. Although not yet tested, cats are not an option for this boy. He must have a securely fenced backyard... preferably in wood or electronic. If left alone in the backyard, he will go over a 6ft chain link fence to play with dogs in another yard. Fully crate trained though and he's fine to go to a home without another dog.

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Mira is a country girl! This beautiful, 2ish yr old girl weighs about 65-70lbs. She's very sweet with her own people and is very well mannered in the home, but she takes some time to warm up to those she does not know. She's a bit on the insecure side so she needs a confident, assertive person to let her know all things are in control so there's nothing for her to worry about. She does not do well in the high-energetic city settings so must have calmer, country home in which she has plenty of room to run and play. She's really a very sweet, absolutely gorgeous girl that gets along great with other smaller, gentle tempered ... (Read More)dogs. Actually, she'd do best with another easy-going dog in the home to help her become more confident. She will do best in an adult only home, or kids must be over 16yrs old... and no cats for this girl.
