Lab Mix    Age: Senior

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Boo is a Labrador senior lab mix that's 10+ years old. My foster family loves my enthusiasm to please and the love to play, but I really don't like being in a crate I'd rather curl up by your feet or next to you. My foster family has older kids and since I'm a senior my preference is a quiet home with older kids or none. I get along great with my foster's dogs but I'm not a fan of the little dogs , I didn't know what the scary chickens and ducks were I wanted to run away when they moved. I do walk on a leash but have a tendency to pull. I'm currently being fostered in Clintonville, WI. My adoption fee is $200 that includes spay/neuter, age ... Rescue Me ID: 17-08-24-00503Frank (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

Hello, my name is Frank and I am a 3 year old, neutered German Shepherd mix currently residing in Reedsburg. I am quite an active guy so I would need a family who would take me out with them or play fetch. I love to give kisses and I love to jump. Since I jump, small kids may not be the best because they won't be able to support my weight. However, I don't have any problems with kids. I get along with other dogs and I chase cats if they run and bark at them, but the cats here have put me in my place a few times. Some things we have found out is that I don't like bridges and I don't like seeing off of them. I also don't like being put into a ... (Read More)crate, but I settle down fast. So far I have had no accidents in the house or in the crate. All around, I'm a pretty good guy looking for an active family. My adoption fee is $250 that includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption, microchip and health certificate.     Hello there, I'm Oreo! I'm a 45 lb, 4 1/2 year old Lab mix in search of a very special forever home. I LOVE other dogs and I'm good with children, but I get pretty nervous with adults. I was originally picked up as a stray and it took many sightings and attempts to rescue me in NC. It's been a little over a year since I've been in foster care and I could really use a forever home. I also am amazing on a leash, and love going on walks! I'm a very sweet natured girl and once I warm up to you, I'm happy to snuggle up on the couch and watch TV or chew on my toys close by. Health: Neutered

'My name is Clooney and I've been looking for my forever family for a while now. Don't tell the other dogs in the rescue, but I'm a volunteer favorite! I'm a very chill 6 year old lab/staffie mix. I'm low-to-medium energy level. My favorite things are going for walks, playing in water, and snuggling up to my humans. I ADORE kids! I think they're the best. I'm potty trained and good on leash. I haven't spent too much time with cats, but I think I'd do best in a home that didn't have them. I do like other dogs though as long as I have a proper, slow introduction. My ideal home, however, would have me be as the only pet! I'm a smarty too! I ...     PLEASE BE AWARE WE HAVE A 100 MILE ADOPTION RADIUS FROM OUR FACILITY IN NEW RICHMOND, WI. Sonny came to us from the euthanasia list of a Twin Cities shelter. Sonny was an owner surrender and had been surrendered with his doggie sister - we did not have the opportunity to take the sister as she went to another rescue. We do not have full details on Sonny's prior history and only have what was current history from the shelter. Sonny was on the euth list as he was shutting down in the shelter, afraid and nervous. We have found that Sonny is a nervous dog, especially in new surroundings so we are not surprised by the AHS's assessment - we ... (Read More)do not feel, however, that this nervousness is cause for euthanasia. Sonny is 'in training' to combat this nervousness and we are recommending that he go to an experienced adopter who can continue his training; someone who will be patient with him and will allow him slow introductions to new things/surroundings. This boy is really very sweet and friendly and he deserves a chance to really shine - if you think you can provide the love, training and security that Sonny needs, please contact us as we would love to discuss him further with you. Sonny is a one year old (as of 5/2017) Whippet/Hound/Lab mix and is all up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is micro-chipped and neutered. He has been socializing with some of our current rescue dogs and does well with them and as stated above, he did come from a multi-dog home. Cat exposure we're unsure of at this time. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Natalie is a 3yr. old, 60 lb. Dalmatian/Lab mix looking for her forever home. She has been in my rescue for a year now and could really use a forever home. She was an owner surrender because she had too much energy for her owners. She is great with people. kids, and other dogs, but can be dominant over toys, and does best with large dogs only. No cats please. She can be a barker for attention so apartment life would not work for her. She would do best with a fenced in yard with a 5-6 foot fence, and an active family. She is a runner if she gets loose so having some obedience training might be best. She is completely vetted and her adoption ... (Read More)fee is $150.00. Rescue Me ID: 15-09-11-00623Dice (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Dice is a male Labradinger (Lab/Springer mix); 2 yrs. 3 mos. as of Sept. 2016. Up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped. Dice does have a bite history and is a bit nervous around strange men. Dice was initially surrendered by his first owner due to lack of time to spend with an active puppy and then adopted by a young college student. The college student made a poor decision to bring Dice home and then throw a party where Dice was thrown into the mix of new surroundings, lots of young partying people, loud music, etc - Dice got spooked and nipped at someone. The college student then decided that she no longer wanted Dice and ... (Read More)this is where GGOH came into Dice's life. Dice was then adopted out to another family and had a bit of a rocky start with a younger child who did not heed Dice's warning signs and was once again, returned. Dice has since been through vigorous temperament testing with a trained professional and has not acted out in any way - he has passed all tests but his training will not stop here - we will continue to work with Dice so that hopefully his next adoption will be a permanent one. Dice really is a very good dog, he's just been put in tough situations - we are certain with proper training (of dog and of owner) and proper introductions to new environments, Dice will do just fine. Our recommendations for Dice is that he be placed in a calm environment, preferably a home with no other dogs and absolutely no young children as they do not understand dog behavior and therefore, could entice an altercation. Dice needs a committed, experienced guardian/handler who is willing to work with him and continue his training. Although we do know that Dice gets nervous around strange men, we have seen that with proper introductions and given adequate time to adjust, Dice can be accepting of them. Dice is a special case, no doubt, but we are confident that there is a home out there for him. PLEASE READ OUR ADOPTION PROCESS INFORMATION BEFORE SUBMITTING ANY COMMUNICATION OR APPLICATION TO US. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-02-00106Silas (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Silas was found by a concerned citizen after being placed in his kennel on the side of the freeway in the Woodville, Wisconsin area - his kennel was found in a ravine. When the woman came upon him he was out of his kennel running into traffic so she did the only thing she could think of and grabbed him and called us here at GGOH. His ear was torn and bleeding, presumably from breaking out of his kennel. His kennel had been broken on one side and had been taped together with electrical tape making it possible to break open with little force, which Silas had done to escape it's contents. Silas had been left in this kennel with dirty ... (Read More)blankets and an old garbage bag filled with rotting garbage - to put it mildly, the kennel was filthy! Can you imagine; this is how someone left their family pet. Breaks our heart! Silas is a great black lab with a big heart. He wants nothing but to be loved and have some guidance from a faithful new friend. He needs a guardian who will be committed to continuing with his training; someone who will stand firm and let Silas know who is in charge. He is a good dog, but needs to know what his boundaries are. Silas is approx. 3 - 4 years old (as of Jan. 2016); up-to-date on vaccines and is neutered. He's doing well with his training and is sure to make a wonderful pet given the chance. Someone out there discarded this poor boy with their trash - such a shame. Let's find Silas a new loving home where he will know love like no other - he deserves it! GGOH does have fencing and indoor living policies as well as a current adoption radius limitation of 100 miles from our facility. Please see our website @ www.ggohinc.com for more details. Lab Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Before inquiring on Donner, please note that we have a 100 mile radius adoption policy and we are located in New Richmond, WI. Please see our website for full details. www.ggohinc.com Donner is approx. 11 years old (as of Oct. 2015) but still has several years of loving to give. Intake date: April 2014. He is a Lab/Pointer mix. Donner came to GGOH after his owner passed away; a friend of his owner gave Donner a temporary home, but it didn't go too well as Donner had been a one person dog and was not used to other animals, which this temporary home had. While Donner prefers to be the only dog, we have begun to introduce him to the ... (Read More)concept of walking along side other dogs by training him with one of our other rescues. Donner is not very fond of cats so a cat-free home is necessary. Donner loves to go for walks and plays a mean game of fetch. PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Wisconsin
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

lnteresting Lab Trivia Low-Cost Wisconsin Spay & Neuter Clinics
Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. The Labrador Retriever is by far the most popular dog in the U.S. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
