Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Millie is a lab/hound mix from what we determined. We got her as a puppy when my husband was sick with cancer, she did not get the attention she should have until after the age of 1. She is a good one on one dog and loves to play fetch with a ball, toy, stick, log.. anything she can possibly get in her mouth. We have had some problems with Millie and other dogs, she gets along very well with our Westie but did not get along with our Yorkie. Both small dogs were male so we are not sure why she didn't like the Yorkie. It could have been that the Yorkie was very old and was the dominant one. She has room to run and we have had her on ... (Read More)a wireless system so she doesn't leave the yard. She has never been leased trained and doesn't like driving in cars. I am downsizing and cannot take her with. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I am already neutered, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs. Trace's Story... Trace is a wonderful dog. Loves meeting new people and other dogs. He is good with kids and has spent some time around them. Trace just loves attention. He is crate trained. He's eager to please and learns quickly. He doesn't do sit well, though, because it's uncomfortable for him with the back leg missing but will if you want him to or if you have a treat. He is 55lbs and can actually gain a little weight, maybe 7-8lbs. Recent weight at the vet. His forever home does need to understand the importance of ... (Read More)maintaining his weight. He can't be fed a lot of extra treats due to only having the 3 legs and the extra stress on his hip and back leg that extra weight creates. Regarding only having 3 legs he can run pretty fast and he loves swimming. Trace also loves being outside and sunbathing. He likes chew toys. Plays fetch when he wants but mainly likes sticks. He is a lab hound mix and definitely has a hound nose, he lives smelling things. He would need to meet his potential future canine siblings beforehand. Trace was found with a broken back leg and hip somewhere in Missouri. A lady who rescues dogs was on vacation and saw him and his siblings in the back of a truck at a flea market and she rescued them all. Trace went to a vet in Iowa to have his back leg amputated. He was about 8 weeks then and has recovered beautifully. He is a happy boy who has no idea he's 'special needs'! (Less)

Health: Neutered

Rocky is a beautiful young (approx. 1 year) chocolate lab mix. He is so patient and polite; while everyone is clambering to get attention and get outside in the morning, Rocky waits patiently on his bed until it's his turn! He is 100% house-trained and will hold it until he's ready to burst (although, being a boy, he might need to be given a chance to realize that inside his new home is not a good place to mark his territory!). Rocky loves to go for walks and chew on his toys. He loves people but is nervous around men and children, so a home without small children would be best for him. He will need dog savvy owners that understand his ... (Read More)behavior and will be willing to work with him on any issues that arise. Organized obedience training would be great for Rocky, as it would build his confidence and get him better socialized with strangers. Frannie, along with her two pups, Shay and Dawson, are the result of yet another rescue mission from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Vinnie was left on the streets as a puppy to wander and scrounge for any scraps of food he might find. As he grew, he was infested with mites that left him with dry itchy skin, hair loss, some open sores and cracking bloody skin. PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Wisconsin
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.

Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking. One rescue lab named Jake helped dig through burning debris at Ground Zero to find people trapped after 9/11, and later helped with rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Labs are descended from St. John's Water Dogs. Labs became popular in nineteenth century England.
