Rescue Me ID: 17-04-27-00164Bosco (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bosco is a dog who loves his family. He likes to play with our kids and their friends. He loves to cuddle, but you will find he likes to sneak on the bed at night and sprawls out. He is always happy and walks around with a smile. The only time he barks is when someone comes to the door. Bosco is one of three dogs we own and shares the house with three cats which he likes to cuddle with. We have had him since he was a puppy. The other two dogs we have are a boxer/rotti cross (male) and a lab/mastiff cross (female). He used to cuddle with both of our dogs, but When Bosco turned 1 year old he attacked our male dog. We thought maybe that it was ... (Read More)a one time thing and separated the dogs within the house for a short time and tried it again with no luck. We spoke with a canine rehabilitation professional and she told us that he is asserting his dominance over our male (alpha). She also mentioned that if we take him for rehabilitation this behaviour may not stop. Unfortunately we can't take that chance with having other animals and kids in the house. Bosco only has this issue with our male and plays with all of our other animals, kids and adults. He turns into a big suck when he gets in trouble and gives you those puppy dog eyes. He has a lot of life left in him which is why we are trying to find a loving home for him where he will be happy. If Bosco can't be rescued we will be forced to euthanize him which we really don't want to do as we love him very much. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Lab in Canada
Lab Dogs can make good pets in Canada if they match your IifestyIe. Labrador Retrievers are friendly dogs that are popular in multiple countries as family pets. Labs are friendly, playful, trainable dogs. Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.
