Labrador Retrievers need companionship and are excellent with children and other dogs. Most labs are too friendly to make good guard dogs. Labs can adapt to apartment life with sufficient daily exercise but do best with a decent sized yard.     Lab Trivia: Labs have very gentle mouths and can even carry an egg without it breaking.
